"Deadloch" as the op is too darn lazy to add the name of it.

To be fair to OP they pulled the headline.

It annoys me when posters on reddit don’t you use the “Additional Text” area to add context if they only post links

Yea, that's the industry standard now, if you give people the info in the headline they don't click onto your website and you can't change advertisers a bunch of money because your website doesn't get any viewers. It's why you'll see "celebrity SLAMS fellow actor over on set tirade", it's all baiting you into clicking onto their website.

They really should invent a technology to force ads into your brain as soon as you think of reading a headline.... /s

This show must be next to unintelligible to anyone but Australians, and that’s why it’s so f****** good; and season 2 feels like they just took season 1, moved it to Darwin and threw it all on turbo It threads the needle between out and out comic absurdism, and really good crime drama. The characters are WONDERFUL, the writing is fun and quirky, there’s stupid throw away running gags and really poignant humanity, and it’s just SO Australian the only real comp it has is Working Dog stuff, like The Castle or Utopia Also, the C-word/hour ratio is unmatched, the POTTY mouth

If you love this maybe you’ll love the blue murder motel, another Aussie show. Pretty good too. But that’s campier lol the lead actress was in upper middle bogan

YouTube The Katering Show. They're the creators of Deadloch. You won't regret it.

I loved season 1. Haven't started season 2. Am I the only one that kinda dislikes when something is signified as "Lesbian" or whatever, just because one of the characters is? Like when I watch a show like this and the algorithm starts recommending shows based on that rather than more meaningful similarities. One of the lead detectives is a lesbian, but we see more of the secondary cop's straight relationship drama as she prepares for a wedding. Yet still it's a "lesbian" show. I'm worried it seems I'm anti-lesbian, but I'm trying to say it should be more normalized, I guess.

I can see where you’re coming from but in this particular case where the village is like 98% women and majority of the characters are in lesbian relationships - you can see why they would want to include that. I don’t remember feeling like it was a show that was pandering-to-death LGBTQ+ topics and tropes. It was just a fact of town.

I agree, the more I think about it the more I realize, "Maybe I didn't care, but some people probably do." And that's who that algorithm is for. My bad.

I mean I do agree with your point but this show is extremely queer/lesbian, even more so in s2. So I think this is the one time it gets a pass haha

I loved him like a brother *choked sob* He was your brother… Hilarious but I did guess the twist pretty early on.

I liked the first season, but I was surprised that I didn’t find it particularly funny, especially given that The Kate’s are responsible for it, it worked better as s murder mystery than a comedy. But I look forward to watching the second season.

First season was more 50/50 comedy/drama IMO. One ep into the first season, and it's leaning more on the comedy chops, a lot of banter and crude humour, less drama (well, less serious drama, it's still there, but not as much, or as serious).

Most people don't really want to click an article to find out something as simple as which TV show is being referred to

yeah my bad. i thought "aussie, lesbian" and "foul-mouthed" and the fact that the new season just came out would identify it. Also, it has a pic (for me) of the leads. I saw someone post the trailer here a month ago and it looked like a lot of people knew about it so assumed people would immediately know. Once I realized, I posted the non-paywall link and the show name. (https://archive.ph/8Y7Io)

Not everyone lives where you live etc. But anyway, thanks for letting me know! I also don't know of many LGBT+ main characters PLUS that with a good show and I like mysteries so I will look out for it!
