Recently i started to Watch a lot more movies One of them was nightcrawler that became instantly One of my favorites movies of all times, the departed at least for me gave me a similar sensation to watching nightclawler for the First time i don't really know how to describe It, it's like watching again a childhood movie and realizing it's even Better than you Remember.
I had such High expectations for this movie and they where somehow succeed, the acting was fenomenal Matt damon Is a stand out ( im not saying that the other actors where bad they where all fantastic ) for me you really learn to hate him, Also the ending was soo good It was anxpected, schocking and also pretty sad,
Also last thing even if this movie Is 2h & 30m It kept me on the Edge of my Seat the whole time.
In the end i would Say this has becomed One of my favorite movies of all times right next to the troman show, the lego Batman movie and nightcrawler.
Edit: Sorry for the bad english
It's a shame it's impossible to proof read and correct things yourself. Really dumb rule but everyone's gotta follow it 🤷♂️

The Departed is damn near perfect. Matt Damon made me hate him so much I forgot it was acting. Ending caught me off guard. Flies by for a 2.5 hour movie. If you haven't seen Goodfellas, put that next on your list.

Not gonna spoil anything, it's short.

Check out the original, “Infernal Affairs”. The Departed was great but the film it’s based on is a masterpiece.

There’s a Criterion Blu-Ray set with all three “Infernal Affairs” movies that’s worth getting or you can watch them on HBO Max.

It’s hilarious to me how Scorsese added an hour to the original without adding much substance

What I like about The Departed is that it isn't just tense, it's grubby and weirdly funny in that very Scorsese way. A lot of crime movies can do the cat-and-mouse part, but this one also feels like everybody is spiritually sweating through their shirt the entire time. Also one of the rare remakes where knowing Infernal Affairs doesn't really kill it, because the Boston flavor changes the whole rhythm.

This movie has got so many good actors in it... And such an iconic director, the script is almost flawless.. what else do you expect??

The Departed is excellent, but not in the top 5 for Scorsese movies.
This won't be popular, but Infernal Affairs is better, and Tony Leung is better than Leo.

It's a good movie no doubt but Leo always getting a pass and the love interest brings it down to a 7/10 for me.

I assume you mean why Leo always get a pass? Well, because these guys know that there is a snitch but never kill the obvious guy. Why would they care if it is him or not, just kill him ffs.

the dude showing up out of nowhere in an out of nowhere location for the shootout at the end was a bit forced, but overall it's good suspense

It is damn near perfect. Except for the part where they play the Van Morrison live version of Comfortably Numb. I hate it and it damn near ruins the movie for me.

I was clarifying cause of how f****** retarded it is to think a character who isn’t even in a 1/4 of the movie somehow ruins it because of their bad accent

The Truman Show, Lego Batman, Night Crawler, and The Departed.
Is there a cinematic version of fiber and vegetables? Because dear god you need what ever that is.

It reads like the cinematic version of “yeah I’ll have a porterhouse, with a side of T-bone, and for my second course let’s do the 8 ounce prime rib, followed by the 6 prime rib, and keep those steak fries coming.” There is nothing wrong with liking beef, but you don’t have to be one of those dudes who “don’t do vegetables cause that’s what food eats.”
