The Departed: SIU TV Series

Posted by Ok-Championship-9514

(I think The Departed is a good crime thriller movie. So, here’s my idea 💡 for a sequel tv series following Sergeant Sean Dignam who survived the events of the movie.) Set years after the bloody downfall of Boston's notorious Costello gang,  Sergeant Sean Dignam (played by Academy Award w***** Casey Affleck, replacing Mark Wahlberg), is the last man standing in a city shattered by scandal. After executing traitorous dirty cop Sergeant Colin Sullivan, Dignam disappears into the shadows-but now, he's back —but not as the loose cannon you remember. Promoted to Commanding Officer of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in the Massachusetts State Police, Dignam is given the reins by seasoned veteran Captain George Ellerby (played by Michael Beach, replacing Alec Baldwin). But leading the SIU through the darkest labyrinthine crimes of Boston is nothing like working in the trenches—and every decision now bears an unimaginable responsibility.  As Dignam grapples with the haunting memories of his past, especially the moment he executed Sullivan, he musters up the courage in his new role in a unit reeling from the arduous aftermath of corruption in a world where justice is sought by the brave.  Meet the newest members of the SIU: Trooper Rachel Kwan, (played by Jessica Henwick) a tenacious profiler with a knack for reading suspects. Trooper Andre Ellerby, (played by Trevante Rhodes), George’s son, an Iraq war vet with a violent history and street smarts that make him an invaluable benefit to the team. Detective Liam Frawley (played by Brian Wiles), an ambitious Southie native rookie with a family legacy in the Staties. FBI Special Agent Frank Lazio, (played by Alessandro Nivola), the SIU’s liaison to the FBI and a family man determined to use his contacts with the FBI to help SIU make Boston a safe city for his family to grow up in.  At home, Dignam's family is feeling the strain of his relentless pursuit. His wife, Claire (played by Rachel McAdams), is torn between supporting her husband and fearing for their safety, elsewhere their college graduate adopted niece Charlotte “Charly” Dignam (played by Grace Van Dien) whose a past tied too close to the streets aspires her to follow in her uncle’s footsteps! The series is elevated by a captivatingly atmospheric score from Howard Shore, the multiple award-winning composer behind *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy, immersing viewers in a soundscape as enigmatic and intense as the city itself. (Feel free to tell me what you guys think!)
