I like both, don't get me wrong! However, I like Confessions of a Shopaholic exponentially more. Even my sister agreed it's clearly better. I think it has better visuals, better comedy, and is generally more entertaining. She agrees. Literally no one talks about Confessions of a Shopaholic since its debut around 2008. But The Devil Wears Prada remains one of the most iconic movies of all time. I'm not complaining. Again, I like both movies. I'm just confused how The Devil Wears Prada got all this love and Confessions of a Shopaholic got left in the dust and forgotten. Can someone explain to me without insulting one of my top favorite movies of all time (Confessions)?
I didn't know what you meant so I had to Google that and in doing so found out that Stanley Tucci is married to Emily Blunt's sister. So that's really cool to know, thank you!

The movie just wasn’t as good? The fashion was stronger in DWP, and the acting better. Devil wears prada also has the lore of being about Anna wintour, as the author of the book was her assistant.

That is crazy. She's okay with that?

Well no. But at the Oscar’s she did play along and called Anne Hathaway “Emily” so maybe she’s come around.

I think that Confessions is a fine movie, I liked it better the 2nd time I watched it but it just doesn’t have the same iconic moments that Prada has. People still quote the movie 20 years later, honestly I can’t think of many quotable moments in Confessions. It was very cute though with a good message

True! The "one stomach virus away from my goal dress size" line is iconic.
From Confessions, I really liked the interview where she was talking about how she wouldn't blame the guy for staring at the naked male model behind him. Or "no one checks up on Finland"

One is a movie about someone who doesn't think they care about fashion, until they're swimming in it, and chooses to get out of the pool. Stars Hathaway, Streep, Blunt, Tucci.
One is about someone who let it break them before the story even begins, and hurts others with their spending addiction til they're forced out. Stars Borat's wife & some respected British dude and keeps the A-listers in background roles.
If someone had $12 and could only see one ..
