Instantly thought of Maple Street haha.
It has to be intentional. Other than the dinos and whatever else it’s basically the same setup, and yeah the name seems to allude to it. That and Nightmare on Elm Street a bit maybe.
“F*** your placid suburban neighborhood.”

Refresh my memory as it’s been a while but how is this similar to the Maple Street episode?

Major block of a typical American suburban neighborhood is blocked off and sequestered by a mysterious force of at least initially inexplicable origin, either nobody is able to leave or they’re given an otherwise bizarrely compelling reason to stay (in the tv episode, cars mysteriously malfunction), hijinks ensue.
There’s a similarity to the Shyamalan movie Old too, though that one obviously takes on a very different setting.

It feels like a direct inspiration from that one Outer Limits episode where a neighborhood gets whisked away by aliens so they can determine whether or not the neighborhood's residents would make desirable slaves.

65 came out 2 years ago and Primitive War came out last year. Plus how could I not mention The VelociPastor.
But your point is still valid. Given the success of Jurassic Park, it's weird we haven't gotten more big budget dinosaur movies. Even after the first movie, the only real dinosaur movies we got in the 90s was Godzilla and Flintstones

I still believe Universal would absolutely KILL with a Jurassic Park and Fast and Furious crossover. Everyone would know what it is and it should lean in.
Jeff Goldblum explaining chaos theory to Vin Diesel and Vin’s retort is “I got family.” While Ludacris and Chris Pratt make a super team with tricked out cars commanded by Blue and her super-smart velociraptor gang. All to stop another one of Jason Statham’s long lost brothers who is helping InGen an Dr. Wu build a supercar for Indominous Rex to beat Dom at RaceWars. It will obviously smoke Hector!
The ride at universal studios in July 2030 would also be a banger.

Jurassic Park is the perfect case for why directors should do covers of films like musicians. Like what do you mean we missed out on a darker R-rated James Cameron version? I want the Aliens of Jurassic Park to happen.

I would 100% pay for a ticket for a movie where Chris Pratt and Ludacris are trying to teach velociraptors how to drive a stick shift.
Bonus points if Blue hits a button to eject a villain out of the side of a car, and does a velociraptor roar, and the subtitles say "Ejecto-seato, cuz!"

I went frame by frame and I don’t think it’s a dinosaur. I think it’s meant to appear as one in the trailer, but if you look at the frames of the head and mouth it’s nothing like a dinosaur, I believe there’s multiple slits where the mouth opens. Maybe I’m trippin though.

Genuinely one of the best films made this century. Horribly mismanaged marketing by A24 and a tepid Cannes response basically made it a non-factor but people have caught up since then. It's obviously quite divisive in terms of general response, but I think it's a masterpiece

Someone recently nailed my feelings about this movie. “As a puzzle, it’s fantastic. As a movie, it’s a horrible mess”.
There was some puzzle/code expert consulted on the film so there is tons of hidden meaning and subtle messages. There is a whole rabbit hole where people that have dug into clues to figure out what the messages in the movie mean. Which in itself is kind of fun to read about.
But to me, the movie felt like a psychosis fueled vehicle for all the random clues and hidden messaging without much actual substance for the story itself. I love some thriller, mystery, greater meaning type of films. But I wanted so much more from this one.

Looks vaguely similar to the idea from Arthur C Clarkes: *A Time Odyssey* final book series where sections of the earth are fractured and there are physical lines between eras of history. Looks cool, I hope it's good.

Is this basically the Drifting Classroom and Jurassic Park combined. Also, interesting to see the It Follows director deviate to this.

I have been so hyped for this movie since it was announced years ago. Looks awesome, can’t wait. I just hope it’s good and does well, we need more original big budget films!

From the cars it looks like they're from the 80s, before the "move" happened?

Wow, knew nothing of the film. Once I saw that the director of It Follows was behind, I was in. Teaser was solid!

Whenever people ask "where does Jurassic Park as a series go next?" I always say "it involves traveling back into the *actual* time periods and something going wrong," so I'm personally pretty excited for what seems like a version of that idea.
Edit: Also I love that this is basically *The Mist* meets *Jurassic Park*.

I feel like this sub has always loved to shit on JJ, but in my opinion, having his name attached to a creative endeavor is always a net positive.

I know nearly nothing and I love it. It reminds me of how I felt as the trailers for SUPER 8 were coming out. Maybe I'm just a hopeless Bad Robot fanboy.

Ewan and dinosaurs are great, but we don't need kids in every dinosaur movie.

If only the reveal of the dinosaurs wasn't included, this teaser would've been amazing, but I'm still interested in this.
I'm hoping there could be some additional reveals that can bring this close to the weirdness of Under the Silver Lake at a few points, even though this definitely seems like a more blockbuster-friendly film from David Robert Mitchell

they cant hide it. All the marketing is dinosaurs, including the original poster

Dinosaurs is the whole hook lol. That's the reason I'm going to see it in theaters instead of wait for streaming.

Everytime there’s a trailer people say they shoudlve hidden the basic premise of the movie. Like the trailer should NOT be “a family is a neighborhood and its gets transported to A Place and now they have to run from A Thing” like how do you get anyone interested in that

This is the teaser trailer. The dinosaurs obviously aren’t a late movie twist. This teaser would basically just be nothing without that
Good trailer, tells you everything you need to know...
...except for why Ewan McGregor looks like hes morphing into Michael C Hall, but idk if that'll be answered in the film.

They're basically putting this in the Weapons s***. Smart — it looks like the closest thing WB have to that movie this year.

ticking clock opener, fragmenting a pan shot with ridiculous cuts, and spoiling an interesting reveal... this teaser has everything!
I hope the film is good. I know marketing is separate from the production

Under the Silver Lake was one of my favorite movies so I’m inclined to check out anything he puts out.

Been waiting for a new movie from this director since Under the Silver Lake. He always layers in a lot of details.

We thinking PG13 as usual or do we get some proper R rated Dino action?
What I wouldn’t give for a live action Dino Crisis! Or at least a game remake! 😭

So it's Drifting Classroom but a suburban Street instead of a school? That's fun
