He was actually.
Moreover the French (among others nations) were heavily involved in the Iran dialogue to convince Iran to stop the nuclear military program in exchange of more economic cooperation and the return of Iran to the international community this way.
Historically, economical development has led to more organic regime change than invasions by the way.
Trump unilaterally shat on this whole diplomatical effort on his first term by terminating the JCPOA treaty without warning, surely already under pressure of Israel. But most people already forgot.
So yeah no way the French will spill blood upon this whole debacle. A french instructor in Irak already died struck by a missile that is more than enough.

Trump is the the greatest strategist in the world!
He wanted NATO defence spendings to go up - they did.
he wanted Europe to support Ukraine more, and it does now.
He wanted "drill baby drill", and the world tries to do that.
He wanted less migrants, and he has that now.
Are there a few issues with that? Possibly...maybe...
Are the goals achieved? They definitely are!
(If you think that "everything goes as planned" - you're as dumb as he is though)

And he did all of it in the way that makes you and I suffer as much as possible, while enriching himself and his friends. That's a great strategist indeed.
NATO defense spending went up, but don't worry, so did ours! So not only are we trending towards no longer being the global hegemon, you're still paying more taxes for less benefits! Ditto on Ukraine
Not only are we drilling and polluting more, we're actively paying companies NOT to develop greener energies! Meanwhile, the active refineries are burning because of the war he started, so gas is still more expensive. So not only do you get to pay more in taxes and at the pump, your environment is more polluted, and the world climate continues to heat up. Hooray!
We have less migrants, and all that needed to happen was the unleashing of a masked secret police on the american public. So now not only do labor shortages contribute to rising prices, but now american citizens get to be shot on the street! And all of his other policies guarantee that hiring has slowed dramatically, so Americans don't even get the jobs that are theoretically being vacated by the migrants!
Trump and his voters sure are geniuses.

No to mention: NATO building up would have meant, 15 years ago, all the more equipment bought from American companies.
Nowadays it's getting every year less the case.

He also:
- said he would end the war on Ukrain in a few days, how is that going?
- Said he would end the war on Gaza, how is that going?
- he randomly threw around tariffs on the whole world according to his mood of the day. Undermining trade agreements. Which alienated the US from trade partners.
- he threatened to invade nato allies and leave nato so he basically blew up any trust the allies had in the US. He basically blew up NATO.
- He was gonna make America great again. Meanwhile US national debt is record high. The US is paying 2.8 billion every day in interest alone. I am not American so I don't know enough about how individuals in the US experience daily life but I have read about huge healthcare bills to individuals and price of groceries? Human rights for women, lgbtq and immigrants don't seem to be upheld.
So how is that going?

People who think it is 4D chess still exist ?
He’s clowning your country on the world stage. Insulting every allied nation while laying down in front of Putin and Xi.
The image of the US has massively degraded. Every f****** day we wake up and the US has found a new way to bust our collective and personal balls.
There is nothing positive coming from your country anymore, you are just a giant pain in the ass for everyone.
What you seem to fail to understand is that your very hegemony was linked to this post world war II role you had. You want to get rid of it fine, but you will see that it will cost you way more in the long run.
You open the TV all over the west and people talk about how to get rid of their reliance on the US and turn elsewhere. Do you think the US will still have so much leverage and thus money when people are not relying on you for everything ?
Why are people using the dollar again ? Why are people buying your weapons again ? Why are people watching your movies again ? Why are people using your tech again ? Why are people buying your brands again ? Why is China so bad again and the US so good again ? Don’t think it is because what you do is just better. We were just in a convenience trap. You had made it too easy to rely on you.
And Trump made it too risky to rely on you.
It had been a wet dream of some of us for a long time to free ourselves from your hegemony. But it was impossible, too much money at stakes for our ruling class.
Now no one is even denying that it is the absolute priority.
As I heard on TV yesterday, we’re just watching a declining world power struggling to stay relevant, but massively failing to do so. And accelerating their downfall instead.

Most tankers fly under flags of convience unless using US routes because US crews and ships are expensive.

That is true....in this case, attacking leaders of a country not just once, but twice during negotiations and killing them all is the cause of this war.

World already knew that. Every signatory except US to original nuclear deal confirmed that Iran is conforming to the deal. US betrayed them.
Also twice in last year israel bombed and assassinated the iranian leaders involved in middle of negotiation. Israel betrayed them twice.
In past month Iran has drawn several lines and escalated the set of targets only in response to Israel picking new targets. They target steel plant for steel plant, gas bank for gas banks.
Truthfully it is US and Israel who cannot be diplomatically reasoned with. It is either some backchannel backroom deals or just overt force which they understand.
As someone living in global south, I literally fail to see the POV of America deciding Iran cant have nukes and following that up with bombing and killing people. Wtf kind of global terrorism is that.

Not really a fan of Irans theocracy obviously, but the Iranian people actually do have a say through elections.
The reform friendly (pro-nuclear-deal) Iran moderartes had a pretty big support from the Iranian people after they delivered better relations with the West (73% turnout and 57% pro west voters).
Then Trump comes along and tears up the nuclear deal. In the following election, voter turnout is only 48%, and the anti-Western (and pro-Russian...) hardliners win a comfortable victory with 61%.
It’s pretty obvious that US simply crushed the Iranian people’s hopes and literally proved the Iranian hardliners right: The West—and especially the U.S.—can’t be trusted when it comes to agreements, so why bother.

Not saying you need to be humiliated, India, Sir Lanka for example were quick to help Iran, either their ships or in case of India which offered condolences on the assassination of the supreme leader and see how Iran opened the strait for them.
Last i heard Sri Lanka wont be charged any toll, just for their humanitarian gesture of helping their sailors.
Then you have the f****** orange imbecile of a gentile pedophile president who deeply cares about Israel at the cost of his own citizens. Good.
And let me get this straight,
Israel "wanted" to attack Iran, USA joined because otherwise Israel could not have done it themselves, In response, Iran strangled global economy, destroyed American bases which cost American taxpayers money they could have spent on medicare and now American wants boots on the ground and Israel is saying no thank you?
So Israel got American taxpayers to fight their war, Fund the weapons, destroy their investments, tank every economy in the world, kill thousands and injure thousands and now Israel wont even put their men to complete the mission? What a f****** shitshow

By Guillaume Joris
The CMA CGM Kribi successfully exited the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, April 2, passing through the new maritime corridor imposed by Iran. The 5,380-TEU container ship,, sailed between the islands of Qeshm and Larak to reach the Arabian Sea around 8 p.m. The ship has now exited Iranian territorial waters.
Four ships from the French shipping company CMA CGM stranded in the Persian Gulf are expected to follow in the weekend.
Also a few ships flying the Greek flag could follow France's negotiating path on their own.
Pakistan already negociated their deal since more than a week already, China joined.
Since the start of the war, the Strait of Hormuz has been subject to an informal control system imposed by Tehran, which screens ships based on their origin and characteristics, imposes fees, and allows passage only to those that have been approved through diplomatic links.
The Strait of Hormuz is a key chokepoint through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas passes.
A structured system appears to be already in place: shipowners must submit detailed information through an intermediary company affiliated with the CGRI, including ownership, flag, cargo, crew, and AIS data (which includes the vessel’s identity, position, course, speed, status, and destination). The CGRI then reviews this information and, upon approval, issues a secret authorization code along with navigation instructions.

Well, thanks to the US the strait is de facto under Iranian control (or if not control, at least threat).
Even if the US withdrew now, it would not change that. The only thing which may lead iran to leave it open again would be if the US and Israel accepted to pay war reparations for their aggression, and even then it's not a given. We all know those reparations won't come, so might as well not suffer the bullshit and freeing the ships we can by paying the toll which will still be there in 2 years.

Before a pair of imept murderers went and started and then lost the Battle of the Straits of Hormuz, France did not have to pay the IRGC bribes.
Now, if they are going to get French ships in and out of the Persian Gulf, they do.
'Don't start wars and then lose them' is the takeaway.

How did you feel when the US hit a girls school, killing 250 Iranian innocents? These "military operations" have done nothing but replace Ayatollah Khamenai with his more radical, 30 year younger son. It will create a new generation of Jihad. This was all very predictable, to think this was about "liberation" as if you are the world police is laughable.

At least they’re getting it. It’s an absolute win considering the current geopolitical situation.

Supreme excellence is to defeat the enemy without fighting.
Perhaps America can learn the art of the deal from nations that have mastered diplomacy?

Did you see the way the French rioted over their pensions? Your country is quite literally being dismantled from within and most of you have done nothing aside from march. I doubt you'd see Macron pull the c*** Trump does and keep his head. This isn't surrender, they're just not obligated or stupid enough to join.

I mean if US could bring oil and piped gas pricing down it would be nice. And in the meanwhile can they pay the rest of the world money for the extra money their war is costing?
If they aren’t then can their supporters look inward first

I don't feel that way, but that's a great joke, so I upvoted it.
