This 17-second clip from 1894 is the first known movie ever filmed with live-recorded sound? It shows Dickson playing the violin while dancers move to the music. Restored in 2002, it’s short but the very start of all sound movies!

a lot of people don't realize how big of an evolution film as a medium went through. essentially going from gifs to an actual storytelling medium
