The Furious (2026), raid like action movie, another insane Asian action banger? Same actor as the raid

Edit: hory shit mad dog is in this too it appears

The lead actor in this film is Xie Miao, who played Jet Li’s son in “The Legend of the Red Dragon/The New Legend of Shaolin” and “The Enforcer/My Father Is a Hero” .

Sorry for the late response, but TIFF viewers said that its basically nonstop action with an almost video game plot (this is by design). There were some criticisms made on pace, dubbing/english translation and these have been recognized and addressed by the director so hopefully the final product we get in May will be even better. Overall sounds like a high octane good time.

Yeah can’t wait sounds like a fun movie. As a gamer I love movies but it’s hard for me to watch a 2-3 hour movie now and I’m almost 40 lol All these damn games vying for your grinding

Shit okay I am super sold Also for fans of The Raid and John Wick, watch Kill (2023). Commit to it and you will see an, imo, all timer. Movies of this kind of style are my favourite and Kill is among them. There will be a point where you'll think 'oh shit'

Seems like it’s a may 29 release in the USA so it’ll be a bit for me I don’t pirate movies I patiently wait lol so we will see Since it’s lions gate as someone else mentioned it may get a theatrical release

I want to be hyped but the director isn't Gareth Evans. That's the only thing giving me pause. The Raid worked because Evans understood pacing AND action. Still, the cast alone is worth the ticket.

It’s directed by Kenji Tanigaki who is an action choreographer and stuntman so I think it’s in good hands.

Unfortunately not. He did Apostle, which I liked, but it was more horror rather than action. The first season of Gangs London had great action but it obviously isn't a movie. I was super hyped for Havoc which came out last year but I was extremely disappointed with it, it had Tom Hardy, Gareth Evans, and lots of action, but none of those aspects delivered.

I'm trying to remember but I really can't. Tom Hardy is a detective, I remember that. I think he has to root out some corrupt cops (Timothy Olyphant plays one of them) and contend with violent gangs as well. There are some decent action scenes but you could probably look up a compilation of them on YouTube to save you some time. It's a Netflix film though, so if you have some time to kill then you can find it on there.

Hmm Timothy olyphant is a weird actor to me lol I really like dragon squad aka dragon heat. Badasses on both sides of the villain/good side, seeing Michael biehn as a villain was badass
