F*** yes

Tike22 Mar 23, 2026 +13
Doesn’t seem to have the main actor from the raid though

aNervousCreature Mar 23, 2026 +31
Joe Taslim is equally as entertaining and good as Iko. Loved him in Warrior.

anthonyDavidson31 Mar 23, 2026 +23
Joe Taslim actually played Sgt. Jaka in the first Raid too!

aNervousCreature Mar 23, 2026 +9
The Raids are my 4th favorite film of all time. His fight with Mad Dog is so great

SniX__27 Mar 26, 2026 +1
It's 1st in my list what's your top 3 then

ithinkther41am Mar 24, 2026 +6
Slight disagree. I think Uwais edges Taslim out in physicality, but Taslim is a much, much better actor in English. I love Iko, and I will concede a fair number of his projects really did him no favours (e.g. Wu Assassins), but he’s been really flat any time he has to act in English.

aNervousCreature Mar 24, 2026 +2
Thinking about it, you are absolutely right. I don't think I've seen Uwais in an English project that gave him a ton of lines.
2
ithinkther41am Mar 24, 2026 +3
I mentioned Wu Assassins earlier. It gave him a lot of lines, and most of them come off stilted and awkward. I don’t blame him much because that show was a dumpster fire of writing, but it was just not believable that Iko’s character: - was Chinese-Indonesian (he looks fully native) - lived in San Francisco since he was a teenager - had a pseudo father-son relationship with Byron Mann’s character It’s partly why I’ve maintained the show would’ve been better with Joe Taslim, but I wouldn’t want to inflict that show on any actor. Interesting fact: there are some surnames in Indonesia where you can tell were from Chinese origins, but were changed to assimilate with Indonesian culture. For example, Taslim originated from “Lim” (or “Lin” depending on your dialect), and Wongsosaputro originated from “Wong”

Don't sleep on Xie Miao. He fought alongside Jet Li as a kid (in My Father is a Hero) and has been in a ton of recent streaming action movies in China. Here's one of his fights: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU8Qdw-v6D0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU8Qdw-v6D0)

Thanks

shadowCloudrift Mar 23, 2026 +5
Is there a trailer for this? I can't find one other than a one minute clip.
5
Movies_Music_Lover Mar 23, 2026 +4
Surprisingly not but I'd guess that the trailer is coming this week.
4
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +2
What makes you think so? I hope you're right, though!
2
Movies_Music_Lover Mar 24, 2026 +3
It's usually the case that a new poster and a new trailer drop in the same week, often even on the same day.
3
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +1
Got it! I've just looked it up and it seems like it's coming today (Tuesday).

Glad to know. I've been dying to see this, like I google it every couple weeks looking for an update on its release date lol.

edwinnferrer Mar 23, 2026 +21
Was just watching the Raid 2 and thought to myself how much I wanted something else like this!!
21
FourSes Mar 24, 2026 +3
If you like that kind of movie, I highly recommend Headshot, The Night Comes for Us, Wira, Furie and its superior prequel Furies, Monkey Man, and The Shadow Strays. Southeast Asian martial arts movies have been f****** awesome since The Raid, and Monkey Man is close enough with its gritty environments and violent martial arts.

Dragonhost252 Mar 24, 2026 +1
I really wish the Raid had cone out a year earlier or later.. it was at the same time as judge dredd and tanked that franchise. That is my only complaint about the raid
1
pipots Mar 23, 2026 +18
is that Mad Dog in the red???? hell yeah Raid 3 baby!
18
Sensitive_Wind2221 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Jaka Mad dog rematch, letsgo!
1
lambopanda Mar 23, 2026 +21
Xie Miao? That kid played Jet Li’s son multiple times?
21
funkhero Mar 23, 2026 +8
After googling, I can understand.

I came to the comments looking for something like this, as my mind also immediately jumped to "is there going to be a The Fast, too???" The F&F franchise really has monopolized the word "furious" hasn't it? Haha
20
Chubuwee Mar 23, 2026 +5
I hear in this one the plot twist is they were slow all along. It retcons and fixes the power scaling of the franchise
5
pikachus_ghost_uncle Mar 23, 2026 +4
Before they were The Fast, they were, The Furious.
4
troll-account-69 Mar 23, 2026 +2
Somewhere, a Universal exec is seething after reading this as he burns the Dominic Toretto prequel script he was saving for a slow year.
2
kjbaran Mar 24, 2026 +2
*Two brothers…*
2
pikachus_ghost_uncle Mar 24, 2026 +2
Who were born....to be furious
2
braumbles Mar 23, 2026 +39
Sold me at taslim. He's surprisingly been quiet the last few years. I thought after warrior ended and mortal kombat, he would have been on the Tony jaa or Uwais track.
39
Odd-Necessary3807 Mar 23, 2026 +16
He is in Mortal Kombat 2. That's why.
16
braumbles Mar 23, 2026 +11
Since Mortal Kombat released, he did this movie, mortal kombat 2, 1 season of Warrior, and 1 episode of blindspotting. That's not much for an actor in his last 30s and early 40s over a 5 year period.
11
AGPerson Mar 23, 2026 +9
The final fight is maybe the craziest thing I’ve ever seen lol Cannot WAIT to revisit with a packed theater
9
diablodq Mar 24, 2026 +1
Yo it’s same level as raid final fights?
1
deathinmidjuly Mar 23, 2026 +8
Watched this at Beyond Fest Definitely worth a watch, but I wouldn't go into it thinking its "The Raid 3".
8
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +1
Better?
1
deathinmidjuly Mar 24, 2026 +3
I wouldn't say so, but still a lot of fun. Especially the second half.
3
Eccentric_Cardinal Mar 23, 2026 +7
Very hyped about this one and Ikatan Darah! I hope we get a nice physical release for both.
7
whydidisaythatwhy Mar 23, 2026 +5
Fun movie, second half is killer
5
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +1
How does it compare to the Raid movies?
1
whydidisaythatwhy Mar 24, 2026 +3
Unfortunately never saw Raid 2. I can’t say it tops Raid 1. I wasn’t enthralled by the first half (but I’m in a minority there…) so for that alone makes Raid 1 better but the second half is genuinely stellar and absolutely makes the film worth watching. You’ll enjoy it.
3
Jakundo Mar 24, 2026 +3
Brother, watch Raid 2. Amazing fights and choreos. Also, nice, looking forward to this one!
3
AllOutOfChewliesGum Mar 25, 2026 +2
I liked it a little better than The Raid personally but very close
2
CiriOh Mar 23, 2026 +4
They brought JeeJa Yanin from retirement, kudos for this.
4
SodaGrump Mar 23, 2026 +5
I can’t remember the last time a poster sold me on a movie I haven’t heard of before. Looks bad ass.
5
GodspedEmperor Mar 23, 2026 +4
Another reason to be excited about this movie aside from the multi-ethnic cast of badass screen fighters is the director, Kenji Tanigaki, a former member of Donnie Yen's stunt team who served as stunt coordinator and/or action director on a lot of his movies from the late '90s and beyond, as well as action director for the live action Rurouni Kenshin movies, which are some of the best live action anime adaptations out there. Really looking forward to this.
4
Single_Dirt_5450 Mar 23, 2026 +7
Are there like, 6 working Indonesian actors? Its all the same guys lol
7
FourSes Mar 24, 2026 +2
They kicked the rest to death

[Good interview with the cast back when it premiered at TIFF here ](https://youtu.be/JkFScVWmkyc?si=OZvx3XE_0AHS274a)

Jazs1994 Mar 23, 2026 +2
Yo is that Mad Dog?!
2
meeeehhhh2 Mar 23, 2026 +2
Reminds me of the Streets of Rage 2 boxart
2
LightningRaven Mar 23, 2026 +2
I'll definitely check it out. I just hope this director knows how to utilize these amazing actors like Gareth Evans.
2
ZorroMeansFox Mar 23, 2026 +2
I like how the 3D perspective of the Title Words is exactly the opposite of the 3D surfaces they're imposed over. This creates a dynamism that subconsciously "battles" for dominance in your apprehension...as does the color scheme --as Teal and Red are opposite each other on the Color Wheel and create the most striking contrast. (Kubrick used this same clashing "trick" in the opening titles of **A Clockwork Orange**, with its alternating Blue and Orange Title Cards.)
2
pmish Mar 24, 2026 +3
Yeah, it’s a fun design. Well done.
3
planb7615 Mar 24, 2026 +2
I saw this at beyond fest. It’s crazy.
2
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +1
How would you rate it? Similar to Raid movies or better?
1
planb7615 Mar 24, 2026 +2
Similar, but also crazier. Like stuff that happens in this wouldn’t happen in a Raid movie.
2
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +2
Do you mean environmental finishes and choreography is what makes it crazy, or over the top Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon type of wuxia, haha.
2
planb7615 Mar 24, 2026 +3
The later
3

1
ValeLT Mar 24, 2026 +1
Anyone knows when we can expect to get a trailer (as in, at what time today)?
1
JaylenBrownAllStar Mar 23, 2026 +1
Hell yeah, hope it’s not on Netflix so a physical release can come out I know they are working with Criterion at times but this ain’t a criterion one
