My thing with Santos is I'm unclear if she wants revenge or justice. She has a right to transparency, if that is what she wants. There is a lot of value in Langdon confessing, i.e., his workload could adjust to fit the crime, perhaps shame could act as a deterrent for others with similar ideas, and there is a precedent set for transparency all around.
My question to her would be what would happen if Langon confessed, but the doctors said eh you went to rehab, or went ok fine, here is some extra work to make up for it, but stopped short of firing him. I think she would personally flip out because I don't think what she wants is transparency; I think what she wants is for him to become a pariah. I think that's a shame because it doesn't help her, and she seems like a good doctor who could be great if she got out of her own way.
33
IketheScribeMar 20, 2026
+16
Agree. People generally don't like Santos, and she blames that on the fact that she turned Langdon in and not on her personality, which can be an irritant. If Langdon confessed to everyone and most people forgave him, it would drive Santos nuts.
Also, I have to double-check, but I think she said only three people in the hospital know what Langdon did. Didn't she also tell Garcia?

I honestly just hate her lol she has a few good moments but is a jerk with basically everyone and blames Langdon for it 10months later. She didn't even know he was going back to the ER until he showed up. Even her gf told her to get her shit together and be professional. Now if after apologizing (when you clearly can see Langdon is trying to get better and what not) she fucks with him or something happen I will be so piss!! Robby said rehab and meetings (he's doing it!)!
3
Realistic_Village184Mar 21, 2026
+6
What does "right to transparency" even mean? She's just holding a grudge against him and wants to see him suffer. Her wanting him to "confess" to everyone isn't about justice; it's about wanting him to be embarrassed.
> shame could act as a deterrent for others with similar ideas
That's silly. Shame is not a deterrent. In fact, shame has the exact opposite effect. What you want is for people to feel happy and nurtured, and then they're able to make good choices. Plus I don't think that there are a large number of employees on the cusp of getting addicted to medication and stealing drugs from the hospital, so this doesn't even make sense.
> there is a precedent set for transparency all around
No there isn't. No one's really entitled to the personal information of anyone else. There was a whole plotline about that in the last couple of episodes where Mel wasn't entitled to know anything about her sister's medical treatment. Yes, you are entitled to know if your coworker is unable to perform their job, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. To the contrary, *Santos* is the one who appears unable to do her job because of her emotional outbursts.
> here is some extra work to make up for it,
I really don't think they would be allowed to or would want to give him "extra work" as penance for stealing drugs from the ER. That makes no sense.
> I think what she wants is for him to become a pariah. I think that's a shame because it doesn't help her, and she seems like a good doctor who could be great if she got out of her own way.
Bingo! I should've read your whole comment before I started replying. It has nothing to do with justice. That's why when that surgeon told Santos off last episode for acting like a child, Santos instead ignored that advice and kept on with her grudge. Santos is extremely immature and is throwing tantrums at work. I agree 100% she *could* be a good doctor, but she needs to grow up. I really hope we see a more mature version of her in Season 3. Fantastic character to watch on screen.

He probably accepts that it is better for one person to be detained and for ICE to leave rather than them linger an detain other, have staff or patients leave etc and that fighting back will get him arrested. All of which will lead to more people going untreated and having negative outcomes.
It's basically the trolley problem with one vs dozens.
It was perfectly balanced. The ICE agents spent 50% of their time standing around doing nothing useful, and 50% of their time ruining everything around them.

Ogilvie's patient Mr. Green having a triple A that burst was so unexpected. My father passed from the same thing and the slight nods to Ogilvie's daddy issues and Mr Green also being an English teacher was just enough to send me over the edge.
Nothing like a healthy dose of personal trauma to bond you to your favorite show even more.

Another great ep as expected but my question is why was the agitated patient not restraint considering that he's a danger to others??? Someone pls answer this to calm my mind

I guess because he was sedated and due to the chaos of everything missed restraining him 🤷 or that he would freak out more when awakened as he’s drunk angry. Don’t think waking up and immediately putting a nurse in a headlock was high on the list

To be completely honest, it was one of the most realistic ways to approach showing something like that on the show.
I know people probably wanted Robby to lay into those dudes even harder, yelling at the one to take his mask off and making all these holier than thou claims; but in the real world, that would’ve ended horribly for everyone and probably cause more damage than what actually happened.
The real world is not like social media, more terminally online people need to wrap their heads around that.

This, robby wouldn't risk getting arrested, he prioritizes treating the patients.

Robby was very close to the line with that one ICE agent. Props to that actor for managing to convey, even with a mask over most of his face, that he was *this* close to taking Robby down in that moment like they did that nurse. And then just says, “sure, doc.”
Make no mistake, the nurse got taken down in part because the ICE agent felt impotent to act on his rage against Robby for telling him off.
Great example of staff paying the price for the doctor’s privilege.

I mean, the ICE agents took the woman to the ER and even removed her handcuff for the exams, that's much nicer than the trigger-happy ones that are roaming around in real life.

I mean, it was balanced if you ask me, they show us why only certain people join the ICE, they are bullies, they might have felt "weak" so they just chose to terrorize and torture people, the tall dude was also offended when robby made him understand how people feel about them.

The people who called Mel out as being jealous of her sister's love life last week were right. I was wrong about them piling on more darker material in that storyline. I didn't think she would confess to such a personal feeling like that so quickly.

Definitely felt for Mel & actually thought her sister was a bit of a b**** to her. And I appreciate the challenges with Becca & her special needs.
If we remember in season 1, Mel literally drops everything the minute Becca calls. Even with this UTI, Becca has this expectation that Mel will fix everything. And then Mel is just wanting to make sure she’s ok because of this fear of her sister being exploited or taken advantage of. But the disdain Becca showed for Mel’s feelings were pretty mean. Mel has just learned she needs a life outside Becca & medicine & I hope she gets one. She deserves happiness.

They obviously love each other, but they both reacted pretty much like real siblings would have. If your sister was pressuring you to tell her about your sex life you'd get annoyed. people snap at family

Technically this is still the day she got flirted with by that robber, and had to admit she doesn’t really have a life outside her sister. That was at 8am and this is her 5pm.
I do wish the show wouldn’t make it seem like she’s incapable as a doctor. That patient she’s been avoiding is even more fucked now that Jesse is gone.
I was VERY worried they were going to shoot Jesse and have the ER team work on him. This was filmed before Minneapolis, I wonder if they would have decided on that if they wrote this episode two months later. Jesse basically did exactly what Pretti did, even said the same thing.

The ICE storyline was watered down versus reality.
In reality you’ve never seen just two ICE soldiers doing anything. They work in much larger packs.
And they don’t take their victims to regular ER unless ordered or unless it’s critical or too late.
For someone nursing a shoulder injury, they’d just roughly toss them around and have them booked first and maybe get looked at by some kind of prison medical unit. But that would be after booking, to ensure their $300 arrest bounty commission.

I know the general consensus is that Santos sucks but frankly I think she has a point about Langdon. Earlier in the season he was telling his coworkers that his addiction never affected his work, but stealing medication from patients and endangering their lives is, like, objectively "affecting my work".
His coworker's perception of Langdon is that he's an addict who kept his addiction away from his work, and he self reported and got himself the help he needed. The Pitt crew as written would view that almost as a very noble, brave, etc thing to do. But in reality he was harming his patients and only went to rehab because he was caught. He only "self-reported" under duress. That *does* affect the way his coworkers view Santos and Robby. If Langdon is just a victim of addiction who chose to get help, then Robby and Santos both look like absolute loons who just despise addicts. And if there's gossip about Santos "snitching" on him, then the absence of him stealing medication also makes her look like some petty a****** who just wanted to get him in trouble, instead of someone who reluctantly reported a doctor endangering his patients.
He deserves rehabilitation, but he also needs to take responsibility for the harm he caused. And a lot of what he's done this season hints at him kinda downplaying what he actually did, to himself and to others. Saying it didn't affect his work is either an outright lie or the delusion of someone who doesn't think his behavior was as bad as it really was.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t he order more than the dose that the patient needs and that extra is what he stole? Iirc that’s how Santos noticed in the first place, the questionably high orders. So it wouldn’t be technically affecting his work treatment wise (if I’m not misremembering)

He diluted vials and resealed them, meaning patients would get a lower dose than the doctors thought they were getting.

I didn't even think about the fact that he was stealing drugs from patients, and I definitely didn't realize that only a few people know about the stealing.

Maybe they’ll just handle it like real life, where you don’t like certain people from the day you start til the day you leave? Mostly ignore them and occasionally clash.
Nah…. What’s the fun in that?!

On the one hand, she was right to report Langdon. He was a danger to the hospital. On the other hand, holy cow, I think she is so projecting her own insecurities on him. Almost everyone knows why Langdon was gone already. Robby, Dana, McKay and Garcia have shown that they know. You know busy bodies Perlah and Princess dug around to find the truth. The only ones who probably don't know are Mel and the newbies. I bet even Whitaker knows because he lives with Santos and she probably griped about it.
Calling him a "golden boy" when so many people are walking on egg shells around him. When Robby is shunning him.
She is using him an excuse on why people are snubbing her. Never once does she ask herself, "Could it be that I just suck?" Nope. Instead, she snips, snides and rolls her eyes at everyone.

They all know he’s a drug addict, they don’t know he stole benzodiazepines from Louie or tampered with whatever Santo was giving that patient in season 1.

Nobody but Robby and Santos and apparently one mysterious third person know about him stealing drugs from patients. The others just think that he was abusing drugs while at work. Santos didn't tell anybody because she didn't want him to lose his license, which is probably something she discussed with Robby while the cameras werent rolling.

Garcia knows because Santos told her in Season 1 and has bitched about it endlessly in their personal life. Which was part of their blow-up. And realistically, these people aren't stupid, they'd know that the drugs probably came from skimming at work.

Exactly. And earlier this season, Whitaker stopped Langdon from prescribing benzos on Whitaker's patient so Whitaker could do it instead. And Whitaker spoke with Mohan about it because he realized what he did.
