He’s the John Carter of The Pitt.

Season 2 ER Carter was kind of like Santos. Only wanted the interesting cases, stopped caring about the patients.
There is that scene where Carter is smiling while telling a patient he has cancer. Thats not Whittaker

His speech to Oglivie is a variant of the speech Carter gave to Gallant in the end of S8, which was already a variant of the speech Green gave to Carter in the the first season, they were really not hiding the ER references this episode.

Kelly Clarkson is a famous popstar who has a song called “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” — “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is a popular phrase coined by Nietzsche, the philosopher, though it’s such a common saying that not many know that it originates from him and likely just hear it through some source of pop culture like Mel, who thought she was quoting Kelly Clarkson.

I think every show has to have their redeemed first year student who comes back and perseveres into a great doctor in the future. It’s clearly Whitaker in the group from last year so apparently it’s Ogilvie in this year’s group.
Joy’s made it pretty clear she knows where she’s headed no matter what happens in the ED.

The red herring was the patient coming in after a motor cycle accident, and robby not wearing a helmet during riding (him not caring if he gets killed on the road), but oddly enough what solidified it for me was him leaving his apartment to Whitaker, and him trying reeeeeally hard to get a diagonosis for his biker friend before leaving. Dude was not planning on coming back.

It was obvious but it is also the extreme. He could simply not want to come back to The Pitt ever again. Pretending to go on a retreat to escape a giant farewell is a very Dr. Robbie thing to do. But, if it wasn't an obvious option early on him basically giving his home (possessions) to Whitaker was like a neon sign saying he is planning on ending it all.

This episode made me realize that Santos has the personality of House minus the limp and the opioid addiction. I can imagine her going, "Yep. True," whenever House goes, "Everyone lies."
I felt sorry for Mohan because Henderson pulled out his, "I published a paper" and "Harvard" cards. He wasn't even trying to be mean or one up her. He's just that qualified and even he is like, "Still, I'll probably won't get the gig..."

Racist is a stretch. She’s worked that ER for years so should be accustomed to some level of diversity. If she was an absolute pig, would Dana trust her?
I get she’s unpopular but she showed up with zero notice and did her part to help keep the ER running.
But she called Javadi a “snowflake”! Well, Javaldi should have minded her own business.
I’m not saying I’d want to be her roommate but I understand her bitterness at being displaced due to computerization.
A lot of our jobs may soon be replaced by AI so it hits a little close to home.
Edit: I’ve been buried by the ❄️!

I doubt it. I think the reality that memorizing text but not thinking on your feet hit him hard. When he said he wanted routine, I believed him. He wants to always constantly know the answer without much variables, so he likely will do a repetitive medical role. Also he would be terrible at pediatrics.

Everyone around him is trying to give some grace and let him off easy from the day, same way Whitaker just sent Oglvie home, but Robby’s too full of himself and standing on the edge of his sadness to accept that help and he’s just gonna crash out in the anxiety of not feeling like he can leave without The Pitt collapsing, but knowing if he stays another second it’s going to truly break him. They’ve towed a really fine line this back half of the season and it’s been gradually paying off. I hope it comes to a head well in our last two weeks.

Agreed. The last two episodes though make it feel like a slow burn that is pacing it well. I am sure it’ll be a good payoff. One way or the other
Right now I’m leaning that he doesn’t tip his suicidal tendency off to anyone except Dana, Duke, and Abbott (who wrecks his bike). Season ends with him okay and reconciling with Langdon.

But it’s more than that. She clearly has something going on and while he doesn’t have the right to know everything, he does have the right to be secure in the knowledge that the ED is covered in his absence.
Why does she want two attendings on every shift? So she isn’t spread too thin? Why does she want AI to do the work? So she doesn’t get tied up doing it? Robby doesn’t know her or her motivations yet.
She’s called him out on his bs already, he hasn’t asked about hers yet. Not really.
