'The Pitt is a phenomenal show – but the fandom is ruining it'

As a fan of the show myself, I find these so-called ‘Pitt Bullies’ embarrassing.

The only fans I’ve interacted with are other healthcare workers. I didn’t realize there was a toxic fandom that followed it 😅

I don't think they were toxic at first but ever since the start of s2. Their twitter community is insane

Are people not aware that twitter is made up of bots that inject toxicity into whatever is trending? It drives engagement.

No way!?! Elon is a beacon of ethical poise, sober focus, & moral fortitude!! -Posted from my bulletproof FSD tesla triangle bunker, at 290mph, in a tunnel under Baltimore.

From an outside perspective, healthcare workers are *generally* a toxic group of people. Incestuously toxic, too.

Fandom cannot ruin a show alone. You are free to not engage with it.

Fandoms are a mistake. Just avoid them all.

Fanbases absolutely can ruin the thing that they’re a fan of for a lot of people. Over obsession and pretending like it’s perfect and that anyone who has any criticism of it is stupid or you’re better than them? Most people would naturally pushback against that, no matter how good the thing that’s being idolized is. It’s like natural defiance against crazies.

What a ridiculous headline. What a nothing story.

Honestly. It’s a typical headline. America loves nothing more than to build something up. Then tear it down.

British, but go on.

Articles being plastered all over the internet is ruining it

What would entertainment journalists and bloggers talk about if the insane fandom went away?

Star Wars fandom made me realize that you should simply not follow reviews / commentary on any show. just watch and decide for yourself.

Totally agree. Judge media (and anything) on your own experiences and not the word of others that you don't know / don't know you. The Star Wars fandom is a great comparison for me. I tried watching Mandalorian and was bored to tears. I gave up during the second episode as there was absolutely nothing to hook or interest me.

Nah. Not one bit. 99.9% of viewers of The Pitt are not part of its fandom online. They’re normal people - this isn’t Hazbin Hotel.

I think it's pretty easy to not be involved in online discussion. The Pitt sublistnook illustrates how dumb the average person is

Why do listnooks get thia much coverage? dumb power scales for example don't impact my enjoyment of a show

So stop listening to the fandom and stop reading clickbait articles about the show. Just enjoy the show and ignore the websites/social media.  Apply this to all entertainment and you'll be much happier.

There’s a fandom outside of TV podcasts?

I wouldn’t call no-life, basement dwelling toxic keyboard warriors a “fandom.” The only thing that kills the show is declining viewership leading to the cost-benefit of paying for the show not worth the subscriptions it brings.

Why would you let that ruin a good show for you? Just don’t pay attention.

No, a fandom can't ruin a show. It's it own separate entity. People should learn to enjoy things casually.

Until the show starts pandering to the fandom

Yea but then how would these journalists be able to churn out stupid articles for ad views

Yeah I don’t think ERs are famously happy, feel good places lol

I loved ER-I loved The Resident and House, so yeah it's just this I found depressing. Both my husband and I decided things were bad enough at the moment and we just didn't want to add on top with a depressing TV show.
