Twin Peaks may not fit the profile of most of these but if you skip the opening credits of any episode you risk not being in the right mood for it. It’s sort of meditative which is appropriate considering the guy David Lynch was.

I do everytime. I was born and raised in Philly and I was just starting high school when Season 1 premiered and I happened to catch it on FX. Because of when it was filmed that intro is like a little time capsule for me and since I haven’t lived in Philly for about 13 years now it gives me a little slice of home. And the unique Christmas special one can even bring a little bitty twingy tear to my eye when I watch it each year.
