The security guard at the centre of the Chappell Roan/11yr old fan controversy speaks out, takes responsibility and says he was not part of Chappell’s personal team.
So he screamed at Jude Law’s kid for the love of the game. 💀

Happens every night at bars and clubs across the world. I worked in nightlife for quite a while and would always see security guards just be aggressive and even violent for no reason other than they felt slighted or whatever.
Just last week I was out with friends till close and as they were kicking people out some dude was just trying to finish his drink and guard came over, grabbed his drink out of his hand, and started shoving him towards the exit.
Just completely unnecessary aggression and I know I personally won’t be going back to that place anytime soon if that’s how they treat people.

This happens all the time with popular celebrities, especially female celebrities. First it seems like everyone loves them, leading to a bit too much media coverage, at which point people start to get annoyed at their fame. That tends to leads to rumblings about the celebrity being fake, boring, or overrated, and you start to hear….. “I never like them, aren’t I cool and different”…. unprovoked.
All building up to the moment the celebrity “seem” to have done something wrong. At which point the pitch forks come out, fans act like they were never really fans and overall everyone rejoices in the Schadenfreude. Rinse and Repeat
Most recently this happened with Timothée Chalamet and his opera/ballet comment. Best example was Taylor Swift between in 2015, when Kim Kardashian released an edited video that made it seem like TS was lying about Kanye.

I mean it sounds like no one lied really.
As far as I can tell, the mom’s story is likely true. A guy from security came up and told them not to approach the talent which upset her daughter. The only issue is that since the daughter got up to look at Chappell and then they were reprimanded, the mom assumed that the security guard was Chappells.
Which is honestly an assumption that makes sense.
This guy is saying he was working for someone else, saw the kid get up and look at Chappell, and decided to go to their table to tell them not to do that despite not working for Chappell at all. He did her a freebie that Chappell didn’t ask for or even know about until it blew up online. But I doubt he told the mom in the moment that he didn’t work for Chappell, he worked for someone else who may or may not have even been there at the moment.
Honestly it’s a weird as hell situation. I can see why the mom thought it was Chappell’s security team since she likely identified that he wasn’t with the hotel. But it’s an assumption most people would have made considering her daughter had gone to look at Chappell and then security approached.
Chappell deserves an apology, but frankly the real take away is this guy is shit at security. And considering he’s the guard who was supposed to be protecting Kim K when she was tied up and robbed of all her jewelry I think it’s safe to say that he is indeed pretty shit at his job.

And idk how much the mum exaggerated, the step dad got involved and posted a story about it. Then it involved a politician whom then tried to ban Roan from performing in that country. The mum should take some responsibilities for that as well.

You're still assuming that the kid didn't do something she wasn't supposed to and that he was being mean when he told her to knock it off. Could be true, could be a misunderstanding.
She might have actually gone somewhere she wasn't supposed to go without knowing it. My question:
Why does this guy, whose job is to provide security for stars, just happen to be around where Chappell Roan is (without his own security responsibility), see a kid approach Chappell Roan, and then decide to go tell off the kid/family (allegedly aggressively) without any connection to Chappell Roan?
Maybe there’s something I’m missing, but this, to me, feels like someone falling on the sword whose job is literally to fall on the sword for their client.
Not even saying Chappell was in the wrong — she likely wouldn’t tell him to handle interactions that way even if he were one of her security detail. But I just feel like this is all too weird to believe this.

Really the security guard is the person who needed to clarify the issue. He was the one who went up to the girl and scolded her harshly. Chappell Roan said he wasn’t part of her personal team, the hotel didn’t say anything. He was the only one who could clarify. Since the soccer player made this a huge issue on social media and the president of Brazil also took upon themselves to criticize and ban CR. And the media frenzy that this has caused. I think it was absolutely necessary for the security guard to make a statement.

If we believe the original complaint though, the child got yelled at for interfering with someone's breakfast, and because the kid was trying to look at Roan we all assumed it was her (as did the kids parents). But, if the kid was trying to catch a glimpse, I'm betting she was up in someone else's business, and she didn't realize. That's why she got yelled at, because she got too close to some other celebrity, and they all assumed it was Roan and didn't clock whatever C list celeb was also there. It's not like the security guard specified who the kid got too close too. Just that she got too close to someone. (Not that I think we should be yelling at children, but also, star struck kids are not known for their observational skills and might bump into people).

Have any of the people claiming this doesn't add up been in public before?
- A child was inadvertantly acting inappropriately in a luxury resort trying to catch a glimpse of Chappell Roan.
- A security guard told the stepmom that this is a luxury resort so the kid can't be wandering around unattended.
- Mom threw a fit because she's entitled and blamed the wrong person because she made stupid assumptions. Then stoked the flame for clout.
I deal with parents like this every time I go to my city's zoo or children's museum. The only difference is the kids whose behavior I have to correct aren't related to Jude Law.
15
xsalteaaMar 26, 2026

I believe the mom when I say that this kid with famous parents wouldnt act inappropriately in a luxury resort. A lot of kids that age and with that status behave very well. Also the kid is allowed to walk around theyre very likely in a hotel breakfast buffet judging by the pictures and how they were all there. have u been in a breakfast buffet? u walk around tables. they paid to be there.
mom made an assumption but its a reasonable one. mom, kid and chappell is in the right. this performative security guard js 110% in the wrong. if he has no business working with chappell or the hotel, he shouldnt harass paying hotel guests. idc if he claims its calm, his statement is performative by saying he takes responsibility yet at the same time implicitly blaming the mother for defamation.
u saying u work in a museum is comparing apples to oranges. kids will be running around touching things they shouldnt. kids are allowed to walk past tables in a hotel buffet

This entire “scandal” is so f****** manufactured and it’s so tacky how people have gotten so pressed.
Let me know when football players, politicians and assholes like Chris Brown with EXTENSIVE histories of abuse get nearly the same media coverage.

Even the replies here are crazy, a lot of people wants to believe she is some horrible person. Dude who started this had 0 proof Chappell was involved at all and just put her on blast. No one questioned it, they all just started a witch hunt and now nothing can take it back.
edit: replaced everyone with a lot of people to be less hyperbolic

There's so many people following these news that admit to not knowing about the topic, yet are VERY opinionated. And I mean the kind of people who don't even read the original post that started it, or even know about it.

I generally don’t attribute cohesiveness to things that can be explained by people just looking for someone to hate on. I do agree her stance on many thing do make her a target for certain groups which could easily latch on to this as an excuse.

It’s homophobia. It’s plain and simple. A security guard chastised a child. Children get chastised unwarranted all the time. The child was wondering around alone. There is nothing scandalous.
But people will go up in arms to attack anyone that is other, it’s plain and simple.
It’s the same media targeting that happens with transgender athletes, women and other’s with power out the patriarchal power system.

“there’s no way a security guard does that on his own”

somehow it made more sense to them that a celebrity would send a security guard to yell at a child for looking at them

This is the most ridiculous nothingburger story. Out of all the things, to be that upset because a bodyguard yelled at your kid, to the point that a famously private artist is now banned from performing in the city is just…ugh.

So who is his employer? Somebody is lying.

He was Sabrina Carpenters security guard for Lollpalooza

She was there to perform for a music festival. He Could have been working for a different artist at that festival. Makes sense they'd book all the artists at the same hotel.

it’s been said he was seen with multiple artists who performed at lollapalooza over that weekend. including sabrina upon her arrival to the country. so presumably, lollapalooza was his employer.

now that i’ve looked further he was actually seen with sabrina on multiple occasions, not just this festival. i’m wondering if he is part of her team and intentionally not naming her bc well, it’s a bad look to bring her name into a scandal that shes not already in.

The internet will believe any accusation that lets them vilify a woman, double points if she’s LGBTQ.
Jorginho could come out and say that he overreacted to the situation and that his anger was misplaced and there would still be 1000 identical “he was paid to say this” comments.

I don't care who the security guard works for or who told him to tell the girl she shouldn't be running around the dining room staring at other guests. She shouldn't have been. Am I missing some other piece of information here? Everyone's talking about this guy screaming and just absolutely berating this child when it seems entirely likely to me that he just firmly said "Ma'am, please don't allow your child to follow the celebrities, it's disrespectful to their privacy. They get harassed enough by fans and deserve peace while they're here" - ie more than the situation warranted, but not an appalling misdeed deserving of righteous outrage and bringing out pitchforks.
You can bet your ass that a minor chiding like the above would've been more than enough to send my goody-two-shoes 11-year-old self into tears and piss my mother off on my behalf, and I'm sure she would've described it as being a lot more confrontational/aggressive than it actually was because she'd be a mother blinded by the desire to defend her crying child.
Obviously it's not like I have the full picture either, but I'm baffled that everyone seems so sure that the security guard went absolutely ham on this child and is discounting the possibility that the mother's view of the situation's a bit distorted because she's (completely understandably) partial to her sensitive kid's feelings.

The only villains in this story are the security guard, the 11yo drama queen, her mother, the mother’s husband (Jorginho) who terrorised Roan, and the millions of people who desperately accepted that Roan must
somehow be at fault for not stopping a ransom security guard at a random place she was at from annoying an 11yo girl who somehow felt terrorised by said security guard who had zero leverage over her… ffs everyone other than Chapelle Roan in this story needs to grow tf up (and I say this as someone who doesn’t really like Roan in the first place).

This is so confusing:
>"I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan."
Then why was he paying attention to Roan and guarding her when he was supposedly hired by another "individual". Wasn't he supposed to be protecting someone else or what?
Also why is he releasing this statement now? The story had fizzled out so he's making it worse for himself and everyone else, again.
