That just makes him one of them.
[Evangelicals have a similar epidemic of child sex abuse to Catholics](https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/06/23/evangelical-leaders-sexual-abuse-gateway-church-sbc/74127494007/) - they’re just better at covering it up because they’re effectively a cellular network rather than a hierarchy. It’s the authoritarian nature of religion and value of safeguarding the public image of the community that lets abusers hide.

I work in child protection, this is not at all surprising. Any tight knit group pulls this shit- concentrate power, weaponize shame, abuse the most vulnerable and use loyalty to from questions. Every religion seems to have this, and when the pervs are caught the church leaders write letters of support for them.
I'm not a church goer, but if anyone reading this is, look into how your church handles investigations, it's eye opening.

There’s a not insubstantial population of female teachers preying on young men too. Sure there are biological and cultural influences that probably make men more predatory. But within these hierarchical systems it’s the position of authority that enables the abuser. It’s just religious authority is almost exclusively given to men.

Because males being assaulted by women is insanely underreported because if they do it’s treated as being a b**** and told by most men that they should be happy. I’ve had women hitting on me as young as 13 but it was never a issue to older people

Not enough people realize that sexual predators are not a gendered problem. Only penetration is defined as r*** in most states - so women’s doings are rarely called predation. Women are often let go (this is changing.)
Men being abused by women is vastly underreported. If you ask men - most will say an older woman did “things” to them - perhaps just kissing, but our culture has not labeled these things as a crimes so most men never saw it as a crime.

I have no doubt men do more, but I really wonder what the real numbers are because young men are basically told *"you're really lucky if you have sex"* and I highly highly doubt many report anything because they think it's a good thing even if long term it leads to serious long term issues.
If an attractive 30 year old man has sex with a 16 year old girl everyone rightly condemns the man and he goes to jail.
If an attractive 30 year old woman had sex with a 16 year old boy, a shocking number of people don't care, or think it's actually a good thing.

The Israeli healthcare budget is around $50bn, normal US aid to Israel each year is about $3.8bn. (Recently, it's been much higher after the October 7th attacks.)
However, each year, the Israeli government spends about $3.7bn on subsidizing Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox) community stuff.
So, dollar for dollar, you could say that the US government subsidizes one of the fastest-growing fundamentalist fanatic religious groups in the Middle East.
Basically, like funding an aggressively expansionist version of the Taliban.

Yes, like every single developed country in the world except the US, Israel also has universal, free-to-use healthcare.
Because of how much money and influence AIPAC and the pro-Israel lobby has in our politics, US taxpayers are forced to send a TON of money and weapons to the Israeli government. And yes, some of this money is used to subsidize Israel’s universal healthcare system.
74
absentmindedjwcApr 3, 2026

Money is fungible. Every dollar we send them in military aid is a dollar they don't need to spend on... "defense" ...and thus a dollar freed up for their domestic social programs. So yes, we **are** paying for their universal healthcare, free college, etc.

Conservatives have never been against welfare per se; they've been led to believe that welfare is being unfairly burdened by *those* people who are less deserving of it. They believe *those* people will be kicked off, and they'll get to keep their handouts.
When they, too, are removed from welfare benefits, they'll simply blame *those* people for making it unworkable. These people are so f****** bad at connecting simple cause and effect, they actually blamed Biden for higher egg prices which were cause by nothing he did (disease outbreak in factory farms forced millions of chickens to be culled). They don't need a point B between A and C. It's enough that they want to believe it. They want to believe *those* people are ruining their lives, so it's an easy sell for the rich fucks who want to cut social security, medicare, EBT, etc.

Jeffrey would do one, then it would be my turn. You had to break the head open before you dropped them in, or they’d just bob back up. Bob up like a little apple! What really pisses me off is they keep saying "This is unprecedented" or "Never before has a sitting president..." We have rules in place that could not only remove him, but everyone he's appointed, let here we are sitting on our hands and saying "we should make laws so this doesn't happen again". Great, we can do that, but enforce the ones we have right now.

Please. There have been so many of these “sink presidency” statements and not a single one has or will sink Trump. There are far too many who support him or are cornered by him.

Clickbait title.
"States should focus on social programs. Our job is defense."
It's a fairly standard Heritage Foundation talking point. He didn't come up with it on his own, and we've heard it for years. "Conservative man is conservative" won't bury him.

Interesting note: Look at the link for the article.
It reads "the sentence that should sink donald trumps presidency"
But the title says "could". Which makes me wonder why they changed the original title, and why they changed it from "Should" to "Could". That one change gives the sentence a completely different meaning.

Does anyone actually believe that Republicans will gracefully leave office after losing one or both of the next elections?
Everything they've done over the last few years pretty clearly points towards their ultimate goal of removing any and all opposition. Achieving that while pretending to still believe in Democracy is their ideal. However they're completely prepared to drop all pretense and go full armed takeover if they have to.
Jan 6th came together quickly while they had a fraction of the power they do today. Imagine what they're willing to do now that they've spent the last few years dismantling checks and balances and corrupting every branch of the government.
I don't know exactly how far it will go, but there is zero chance Republicans accept any election outcome where they lose power. We need to stop putting all of our eggs into the election basket and prepare for the darkest timeline everyone knows is a real possibility.

I might just be cynical at this point, but there is literally no combination of words this dude could ever say that would sink his presidency. He's been saying them, all of them, for over a decade in this arena and it hasn't mattered one iota. It's up to us to keep screaming in his stupid face about it for the rest of his life and at least remove his ability to have peace.

This country is becoming more and more like Russia every minute under this extractionist, racketeering, oligarchic ruling class. Let’s take from the working people to enrich our pedo buddies who have more money than they’ll ever be able to spend. Instead of healthcare, you get to wave that flag. Instead of food, how about a Trump bible? Food for the soul! $1.5T defense budget for threatless wars and to protect against c**** drones, but Medicaid? F*** that, go take some aspirin.

The sentence is multiple life sentences without parole, to be kept in solitary confinement. No access to media other than a library of the world’s greatest examples of classic literature and non-fiction historical and biographical accounts. Guards are to be addressed as sir and will answer only with ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

There isn't one. All of these articles are click-bait for people huffing hopium.
Republicans are ride-or-die, no matter that this guy is crashing the economy on multiple levels, no matter that he trafficked and fucked kids, no matter that he is actively defrauding taxpayers daily to line his own pockets. Democrats ain't gaining enough seats to reach 67 votes in the Senate to remove this criminal president.
It's still worth voting in November, because maybe the heinous shit that will come out after control of Congress changes hands might be enough to make a difference in 2028 for the orange shit-gibbon's enablers to face consequences, but I've given up on our legal system ever meaningfully punishing him for his crimes. He's far more likely to succumb to the hamberders than face anything remotely approaching justice.
