>A whodunnit for the whole flock. #TheSheepDetectives is only in theaters May 8.
>In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.
Kind of a weird take on how they notified the victim's families but ok

Problem is, that title doesn't describe a weird premise like this. Think about foreigners who've never heard of the books.
15

No. It’s for the people who won’t go to a movie until they’ve seen a trailer which tells them how the whole movie is going to play out.

Yeah it feels very lazy as a title. The book title is so much better. Only thing I can think of is they made the title more generic for cultural reasons (non English speaking markets) where people in other countries may not know the rhyme it's taken from.
Still the book was fun and with the cast and crew attached I feel like this is going to be a Paddington/Sonic case of a seemingly silly movie that people initially don't take seriously but turns out really good.

It’s also following the Game of Thrones style of naming the first movie/season for the series. The author released a sequel and the series is called The Sheep Detectives, so it’s also just a known thing to do
