I have to have a portable stool for lines...one year we went from 6+ places to vote down to one community center

Voter suppression tactics suck.
305
FragilousSpectunkery Mar 28, 2026 +46
Don't worry, a lot of GOP voters will be too lazy to vote.
46
clydefrog811 Mar 28, 2026 +83
They mainly implement the voter suppression in blue states and big blue cities within red states.
83
calmdownmyguy Mar 29, 2026 +23
Elon will have the ballots prefilled for them.
23
echoshatter Mar 29, 2026 +53
>a lot of GOP voters will be too lazy to vote Very much on the contrary. If there's one thing about Republican voters, it's that they consistently vote. It's Democrats and left-leaning independents who don't get off their asses.
53
Wizard_with_a_Pipe Mar 29, 2026 +19
It's hard to motivate left leaning independents when there aren't any left leaning candidates. 90% of the time the Democrats fight harder against left leaning candidates than the Republicans do. There's a persistent myth that all independents somehow fit between the Republicans and the Democrats on the right/left scales, and if the Democrats can move just a little more to the right they will all vote for the Democrats. The two party system is suffocating this country. There are more than 2 sides to any given issue, and to pretend that if you don't agree with one side you automatically belong to the other is beyond frustrating. I've never agreed with the Republicans, but I feel like the Democrats get it right 15% of the time on a good day. Neither party has any intention of representing my interest. I still vote, but I would imagine most people in my shoes probably wouldn't bother especially when you consider that I live in a Blood red district anyway.

Didn't they forbid one station from handing out water.
30
The_Music_Director Mar 28, 2026 +30
There was at least one person arrested in Georgia for giving water to people waiting in line to vote. It inspired a plot line in curb your enthusiasm and was big news at the time (2020). She was later cleared of charges but, the worst part is, I don’t know if it’s banned or not. The arrest sent the message they wanted to send.
30
Level_32_Mage Mar 28, 2026 +24
But at the same time you can also maybe offer a million dollars to anyone in line. So... that.
24
dogbite22 Mar 28, 2026 +7
It’s a human right to give people water that are standing in line Screw Donald Trump. Let’s beat him.
7
Irene_Iddesleigh Mar 29, 2026 +2
We should tailgate the polls.
2
tawzerozero Mar 29, 2026 +9
The state of Georgia (population, approx. 12 million people) passed a law clarifying that people handing out feed or drink to voters in line counted as a bribe. It didn't ban handing out water, in those words, but rather put handing out water into the broader category of bribing voters.

Krewtan Mar 28, 2026 +55
Yeah. When I voted for Obama in his first term (my first chance to vote as an adult) I went in on my lunch break and was out in 10 minutes. Still had time to get lunch. Now I have to plan my day around spending several hours in line. At least the primaries are fast because almost no one shows up to them. Wish more would, we could get some candidates worth voting for that way.  As it is we let the elderly select the candidate and people complain they don't like the candidate after. Most of my friends and coworkers have no idea how primaries work or when they are. They blame the party for the candidates they run. The party isn't blameless by any means, but the voters who don't show up have more of a day than the party does.
55
SpliTTMark Mar 29, 2026 +6
I voted in 2012 for obama. Took 45 minutes..My boss called me twice. But today id probably just take the whole day off.
6
Hot-Mathematician691 Mar 28, 2026 +9
Try to do the early voting in person if you can.
9
Ranccor Mar 28, 2026 +9
I’m baffled that everyone doesn’t do that that has it available.
9
pchs26 Mar 29, 2026 +4
I don't know why more people don't take advantage of absentee ballots. That is how generations of my family have voted for decades and for us has ensured the most convenient way to ensuring nothing is an obstacle. I actually don't know why people go in person but I understand some prefer it though.
4
oopsometer Mar 29, 2026 +4
I'll never forget them making giving out water, chairs and other necessities illegal in GA after the lines became 6+ hours long.  It's so funny in red states because you can directly see the voter suppression happen. Drive to any blue-leaning county and watch the lines magically grow.
4
Bee_9965 Mar 29, 2026 +1
And in red rural areas it still takes less than 10 minutes to vote.
1
fighterpilottim Mar 28, 2026 +18
I’m disabled, too, and standing in a voting line is a non-starter. I depend on mail in ballots.
18
Icreatedthisforyou Mar 29, 2026 +16
Reminder, that Trump is a symptom of conservative ideology wrecking havoc on the system for decades. It isn't just Trump who attacks mail in voting, that has been under assault and has been a popular target for conservatives across the board. It is multiple conservative justices that will feel the same exact way. People can hate Trump all they want, but he is just a conservative without a filter. The truly horrifying thing though, is a significant number of people behind Trump make Trump look like a saint. Miller for just the outright hatred racism and bigotry, Pence/Johnson/Hegseth and the entire collection of religious nutjobs that support them, Vance and the billionaires that openly and actively WANT a dictatorship. They are also totally willing to suck up and do what is necessary that allows them to manipulate Trump because it means they get to push their ideas and goals. When Trump is gone, the vileness of conservative ideology will continue, and people will vote for it still, saying "it was all Trump" ignoring that policy wise nothing will have changed, just the face of it.
16
scurvy1984 Mar 28, 2026 +3
Me too! I can’t just walk into the voting place, let alone drive to it. I’ve had to give myself a break from news cause it just gets me angry and every time I check it I’m baffled by this shit.
3
ManiaGamine Mar 29, 2026 +2
They work great period. This is the GOP trying to gain an edge in an increasingly hostile voting environment rather than simply moving away from their terrible ideas and policies. They know allowing less people to vote benefits them, allowing less people strategically to vote even gives them cover to pretend that they are in fact popular. The more hostile they become to democracy the less likely they can win a legitimate vote which in turn means they are even more hostile to democracy. Ultimately they have become fascist because they won't align with voters and voters are increasingly maligned by them until ultimately they throw off the shackles of democracy entirely which many of them are actively attempting to do. This is the ultimate test to see whether America still holds within it the ideals it has held as a banner of superiority over other nations or if it is too rotten to get out of the mess it has created for itself.

The supreme court is a corrupt organization. The majority on that court have been compromised by Republican donors, they're traitors to the United States of America

“Donors” sure is an interesting way to whitewash “bribery.”

Blanketsburg Mar 28, 2026 +55
It doesn't make any sense for a position that is guaranteed for life (until retirement) is allowed to accept any donations or any type of extravagant gift. The position pays $300k per year, which on its own is enough to support an entire family.
55
pocketchange2247 Mar 28, 2026 +14
Yeah but how are they supposed to buy yachts on that salary???
14
soberdude Mar 29, 2026 +8
They can't. It's so sad that Clarence Thomas has to rely on friends to give him extravagant vacations and RVs. That man absolutely suffers, the millions in bribes is probably little comfort to him.
8

This. They aren't caving, they're part of the problem that is the Trump conspiracy.
21
crowe1130 Mar 28, 2026 +14
Sadly, under Roberts' watch the court has lost every shred of legitimacy it had. It's a fully political arm now, including all the bribes that typically go with such things.
14
dogbite22 Mar 28, 2026 +89
Well, they just busted Cannon for being overheard making a deal with a plaintiff for money and it was recorded. She’s supposed to be thrown off now and she better be. She’s destroyed this country and I blame her! Every case that she judged should be re-analyze or any case that she was on should be reanalyze to be fair. God this whole freaking country is corrupt.

Trump voted by mail. By what what right can mail in ballots be unconstitutional?
333
eschewthefat Mar 28, 2026 +172
It’s not in any way. If you postmark by the given date, it is your constitutional right to have it counted. This is the final straw in election integrity There are 100,000 less polling stations since 2018 https://www.route-fifty.com/management/2024/03/there-are-100000-fewer-election-day-polling-places-2024/394959/ Over 10,000 postal jobs have been cut since 2016 resulting in significant delays and DeJoy (a private carrier executive) plans to cut 10,000 more along with reviewing 30,000 early retirement packages) https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/usps-says-it-will-work-with-doge-on-reform-including-workforce-cuts
172
Apathetic_Zealot Mar 28, 2026 +90
So they make the Post office less efficient then say late ballots won't be counted? Seems illegitimate by them.
90
Zahgi Mar 28, 2026 +37
That's the idea.
37
peezd Mar 28, 2026 +33
That's the Republican playbook. Complain that something the govt does is inefficient, and then intentionally sabotage it to make it worse and say "see" and then privatize it

Exactly. And we sit like cattle and allow it to happen. This is beyond unacceptable
9
cinemachick Mar 29, 2026 +5
PSA: They changed the rules for "postmarked", it's now when it arrives to your regional processing center, not when it is given to your local post office. This means your postmark can be up to 6 days later than when you mail it. If it's important that an item be postmarked, go to the post office and ask (nicely) if they'll postmark it in person!
5
imscavok Mar 28, 2026 +47
It’s strictly mail in ballots that are postmarked by Election Day but aren’t received until after Election Day. It’s just a way to disenfranchise people by f****** up mail delivery to/from democrat favored locations.
47
JustTestingAThing Mar 28, 2026 +31
Also, the post office wants to change postmarks to not be applied until after mail has been sorted and sent around a few places as opposed to the date they take possession. Not suspicious at *all*.
31
Zahgi Mar 28, 2026 +9
Precisely.
9
cawkstrangla Mar 29, 2026 +6
One of the arguments they were making is that you can cast a ballot in the mail and then recall it if it doesn't make it to be counted by election Day. Therefore you are altering the results of the election by cancelling your vote. E.g. if you voted for trump and some scandal comes out on election night that he is f****** with the election by having ICE at polls, then if you were one of the 3 Republicans left with some sort of line to cross and f****** with the election is that line, you could cancel your vote for Trump after casting it. The solution to this is clearly to not allow the recall of mail in ballots and make it illegal. But the GOP doesn't work by logic and nor do the conservative sycophant justices.
6
dcoats69 Mar 28, 2026 +3
Impeach him for violating the constitution. They'll either have to argue that it's actually constitutional, or impeach him, right? No way they carve out some BS exception/s
3
janewp Mar 28, 2026 +435
Mail-in ballots leave a paper trail, and that’s worrying for Trump.
435
pchs26 Mar 28, 2026 +137
Also hard for ICE to patrol/target certain lines of people to detain if we vote by mail
137
Icy-Air1229 Mar 28, 2026 +77
Correct. They just want an electronic, unaccountable, in person voting machine that smiles at you while you vote then announces that Republicans got 75% of the vote and the results can be read on the evening news.
77
Grilledstoner Mar 28, 2026 +173
The fact trump just voted by mail should make his argument 100% invalid

39
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +358
And, what about HIS mail-in-ballot in Florida?!? I really can't take any more of this B/S! Snippet: >The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Monday in a case that exists only because Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, threw a temper tantrum, attempted a coup d’état, failed at that, and has spent the last six years claiming he won the election he clearly lost. The case is called Watson v. Republican National Committee, and it involves a Mississippi law that allows mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted as long as they are received by the state board of elections within five days of the election.
358
dmdewd Mar 28, 2026 +33
I thought felons couldn't vote in Florida....
33
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +26
His felony conviction was in New York, and Florida's law: * A felony conviction in another state makes a person ineligible to vote in Florida **only if the conviction would make the person ineligible to vote in the state where the person was convicted.** * **NY law:** You lose the right to vote while incarcerated if you are convicted of a felony. **If you are on parole, probation, or have fully completed your sentence, you may register to vote and cast a ballot.** Your voting rights can be revoked again if conditions of your parole are violated * Donald Trump was sentenced in his New York felony hush-money case on January 10, 2025, *receiving an "unconditional discharge" for his 34 felony convictions, meaning he faces no jail time, fines, or probation.*
26
FantasticJacket7 Mar 28, 2026 +57
This is about mail in ballots that arrive after election day so his ballot isn't particularly relevant. It doesn't kill mail in voting altogether.
57
Nick_crawler Mar 28, 2026 +105
The justices questioned whether it would during oral arguments. Roberts pointed out that the same rule could be applied in the other direction of time and thus kill all mail-in voting, and asked the DOJ lawyer to explain the difference/why that wouldn't happen. The answer that was given amounted to "It just wouldn't", which is hardly reassuring.
105
Cisco-NintendoSwitch Mar 28, 2026 +57
That means that’s the plan in Conservative.
57
starcraftre Mar 28, 2026 +57
Now combine it with the funding and personnel cuts to the US Postal System, and their claim that they'll run out of funds to operate by summer.
57
MoonChainer Mar 28, 2026 +31
This is key. It's been the plan since the Civil Rights movement. Redline every community the conservatives don't like, destabilize education, commercialize everything, and cut access to social services. Suddenly, only the people conservatives like can enjoy polite society again.
31
SapiosexualStargazer Mar 28, 2026 +21

Trump‘s been trying to dismantle the post office forever. Remember when he had all of the blue mailboxes ripped up so they could steal them. if anybody’s crooked and it’s Trump‘s regime
5
PNW_hermit Mar 28, 2026 +14
No, but we had another recent ruling in USPS vs Konan that says usps is protected if they intentionally mishandle mail. That combined with a ruling that late ballots can't be accepted creates a clear path for eliminating mail in votes from blue districts by just not delivering them on time. The litigation surrounding an action like that would take too long to process, creating a pretty chaotic period.
14
DaBoozeHound94 Mar 28, 2026 +18
I mean the precident has been set literally everywhere else. Taxes and bills are considered paid on time so long as the post date is on or before the due date. Why the f*** should mail in ballots have a different precedent?
18
oddmarc Mar 28, 2026 +5
Precedent
5
dogbite22 Mar 28, 2026 +3
Trump is killing women we have to get copies of all our vitals statistics they’re expensive. We all have to go out to a polling place even crippled, disabled people he makes me sick.
3
anotherlevl Mar 28, 2026 +77
In California, we have early voting and drop boxes in addition to mail-in voting. If that's true in other states as well, people in population centers (cities) may have an advantage in ease-of-voting over rural locations, ESPECIALLY if the mail is unreliable. Even if the corrupt clown court does rule that votes postmarked on time which arrive late can be tossed, it might end up hurting Republicans more than Democrats.
77
Cakiea Mar 28, 2026 +33
WA has been fully mail in since the first election I could vote in and I’ve literally never actually mailed my ballot back in, just drop it in the county vote drop box that is most convenient that day, same for all my 40-something and younger friends. There was even an occasion where we’ve shot in the dark dropped in another county’s box due to poor planning on election day and they still got to the right place and counted. It’s the older generations that lack mobility who depend on the mail to return their ballot, either by having it be outgoing mail picked up by their mail person or walking it around the corner to the closest mail box.
33
VectorB Mar 28, 2026 +19
There's a reason why Oregon gop are generally silent on our full mail in system. They would never win an election again without it.
19
pchs26 Mar 28, 2026 +7
Same here I'll likely just use my local drop box which will hopefully be safe.
7
decian_falx Mar 28, 2026 +9
Last year was the first year I used the drop boxes. In 2024 the post office lost my ballot (I checked on election day and voted in person instead). I mailed it 4 weeks before the election.
9
pchs26 Mar 28, 2026 +5
I mean myself, my parents, & when my grandparents were alive - we all vote by mail...for decades. Never an issue. never been in a voting booth. I'm not sure why it is such an issue now, except its existence makes it harder to intimidate and cheat. Given the issues with the post office I will likely drop mine in a ballot box instead then. Likely it will be ok, and if it isn't it is just as likely my polling place then would have an issue with ICE/Gestapo harassing people which could impede voting there as well.
5
BlueLikeCat Mar 28, 2026 +147
Usually, all military voted sit in a locked bag until all the other votes have been counted and it is close enough that they could make a difference. So this would invalidate all active duty military that tries to vote while they are deployed fighting our illegal wars. Cool cool cool

States need to refuse / ignore any of this nonsense. We know it will intentionally come down right ahead of the midterms to maximize the chaos

Couple this with the USPS deciding to delay when a piece of mail is postmarked [https://www.brookings.edu/articles/when-a-postmark-no-longer-tracks-mailing/](https://www.brookings.edu/articles/when-a-postmark-no-longer-tracks-mailing/)

We used to have elections. Now we have Trump screaming at judges until they give him what he wants. This is not America anymore

wanderingpeddlar Mar 28, 2026 +3
So I am wondering how they are going to have the military vote. Or are they going to say the military shouldn't vote?
3
evanliko Mar 28, 2026 +3
Military, foreign service, peace corps. There are a lot of americans overseas for the US government. You'd think they ought to get to vote.
3
GenericFatGuy Mar 28, 2026 +4
Trump literally did mail-in voting last week. The hypocrisy is astounding.

loztriforce Mar 28, 2026 +5
F*** the conservative justices, “honorable”, my ass

His voting by mail recently should have this case thrown out immediately...

Igmuhota Mar 28, 2026 +4
Crazy to be alive to witness my country flushing itself down the toilet in real time. Never thought in all my ~60 years this type of self-immolation was even possible for the US on this level and at this speed, but I guess I’m grateful to have my naïveté stripped away.
4
geologicalnoise Mar 28, 2026 +4
After he himself just used a mail-in ballot. Our system is a joke.
4
Harpua81 Mar 28, 2026 +5
Next up, closing more polling stations, more laws against handing out water in lines. Actually let's enact laws that polling stations must be under direct sunlight, voters must be dehydrated, no less than a 2 hour drive, employers not allowed to give the day off, ooo and bring back poll taxes to filter out minorities. Let's see, what else...security guards AND must be ICE? This country is a joke.
5
homerjaythompson Mar 29, 2026 +4
The whole idea that late-arriving ballots damage faith in the electoral system is absurd. Counting all the votes is infinitely more important than having news casts call the w***** as early as possible.
4

Oregon is only vote by mail.

4

Even if this actually does happen, why should any state that has mail-in voting follow the order? Trump and so many of his appointees constantly defy court orders. If they can do it without consequence, so can we.
5
GunnyUSMC1973 Mar 29, 2026 +1
So the deployed military don’t get to vote? I had to mail in twice while deployed.
1
dshafik Mar 28, 2026 +3
The justices don't have to worry about job security, so I don't understand why they are so afraid of Trump… unless it's not their jobs they are worried about??

They have to help them win. The next Dem in power will be required to prosecute SCOTUS for treason.

The Supreme Court is 100% bought and paid for by the RNC and the Heritage Foundation. Just drop the fake pretext.
3
Sufficient-Pin-481 Mar 28, 2026 +3
People will realize democracy is dead when there’s no mail in voting and “certain” neighborhoods will have ICE surrounding the people in the five hour line outside the single voting center.
3
SBishop2014 Mar 28, 2026 +3
Mutiple states *only* have mail in ballots, including red states. If this hurts anybody it's going to hurt Republicans too!
3
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Yep, and according to a study one in four Trump voters, voted via mail in ballots in 2024! Therefore, we know he does NOT follow the news, or anyone in his cabinet!
2
Slappy_Axe Mar 28, 2026 +3
You mean the mail in system that he himself uses? Good to know it's secure enough for the most important person in our country but at the same time is so insecure that just anyone can abuse it
3
Bean_Juice_Brew Mar 28, 2026 +3
This hurts Republicans as bad as Democrats; how many elderly folk relied on mail in ballots to vote for Trump in the last election?
3
TheMusicofTime Mar 28, 2026 +3
Did the Constitution change?? Did Congress pass a relevant law? Did the Supreme Court get some new magical power to change the words? Article 1 Sec 4 Clause 1 The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
3

Essentially the entire state of Utah, a very red state, votes via mail-in ballots.

3

3

Didn't he just mail in his vote for his local electorate?
1
joestanh1 Mar 29, 2026 +1
and whats sad is tRUMP quoted Putin as telling him that mail in ballots are bad ,so my question is is the Supreme Court backing Putin as well, And why did tRump and family vote by mail
1
GoodGoodGoody Mar 29, 2026 +8
2024 was the easiest election to vote in the country’s history. The most poll stations. The most mail-in and advance options. And you couldn’t get off your asses to vote. Once in every four years and you couldn’t even do that. Or worse, you were proudly vocal about boycotting and demanded everyone else boycott too. You pissed it all away and now you’re standing with a stupid prideful look on your face trying to blame someone, anyone, else.
8
Dr_G_E Mar 28, 2026 +5
Apparently there will also be armed and masked ICE agents surrounding the polling places on Election Day. Sad.
5
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +5
We do not know that for sure! And, we need EVERY American (on the good side of the fence) who is eligible to vote, to get out AND vote, and not let fear get in the way!
5
PDXGuy33333 Mar 28, 2026 +5
I don't believe that for one second. I'm an experienced lawyer and court watcher. My take on last week's argument in *Watson* is that, with the exception of Thomas and Alito, the conservatives did enough to validate a claim to still be in the club, but are unconvinced. I think they will ultimately vote to reverse the 5th Circuit on the principle that when Congress seeks to use its power to preempt well established state laws on topics specifically left to the states by the Constitution, it does so clearly and directly. On top of that they will rely on the *Purcell* rule that says big changes in election law should not be made on the eve of an election.
5
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I hope you are right!! And, of course what you wrote makes sense, BUT, forgive me for thinking that what is right and what makes sense will not necessarily lead to the right decision, AFTER the past 15 months of hell and confusion and so much damage by Trump and the current administration, as well as SCOTUS. But, I always remain hopeful....
2
PDXGuy33333 Mar 28, 2026 +2
You are right to be concerned. Thanks. I've given this a lot of thought and done a lot of reading from the court filings. I see the deck heavily stacked against the RNC on this one. So much so that even assuming the conservatives want to strike a blow against late arriving ballots, they see that this is not the case in which to do it. It's well understood that courts of discretionary review will often reject case after case, waiting for the right one to come along in which to finally pounce when they want to make big changes. This just is not the case in which to strike that blow against voting by mail because there is too much tradition, law and common sense in favor of leaving things as they are.
2
Silent-Resort-3076 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I also find this very interesting in light of this issue:) >President Trump wants to slash voting by mail. About 1 in 4 Republicans voted that way in 2024 [https://www.politifact.com/article/2026/mar/11/trump-voting-by-mail-save-america-act-congress/](https://www.politifact.com/article/2026/mar/11/trump-voting-by-mail-save-america-act-congress/)
2
PDXGuy33333 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I think it's pretty well settled that R's lose when there is a big turnout, at least in elections not marred by the electoral college. So of course they want to suppress voting.
2
minkasp65 Mar 28, 2026 +2
No one has a backbone anymore.
2
kungfoojesus Mar 28, 2026 +2
Is he trying to get of it altogether? Or is he trying to get a ruling that only votes that arrive by Election Day and are counted that day count? Paywall. It just feels like a continuation of the great lie and it happened to get all the way to the Supreme Court. Kinda suspect they will put some limits on mail in voting but not sure how the could wrap themselves up and ban it altogether. No matter what, Trump will declare victory or continue lying about the steal and his basket of deplorables will come along.  The other major problem is that he has a postmaster that hates the post office and would love to strip workers leading up to the election thus resulting in delays of mail ins even if they’re still allowed such that they would fall outside of the timeframe Also, there was recently a case where a postal worker straight up would t deliver mail to someone or some group they didn’t like. They were sued and the worker won. Meaning that if a worker feels like it, they can just not deliver mailings to areas or not deliver to the post office ballots from certain places they don’t want to. And no recourse is available.  The stage is set for mailins for Trump.  Vote. Early. And in person if at all possible and get a paper copy if possible

2
MaherDemocrat1967 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Then that should be the day for the general strike. Anyone and everyone forced to work should refuse and go vote.
2
garion3535 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Then they need to be fired. They are there to uphold the law, not cave to any president.
2

My big worry is at election time Trump closes the post office
2
BillButtlickerII Mar 28, 2026 +2
The Supreme Court is beyond corrupt and crooked. At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if the conservative justices okay mass deportations of American citizens based solely on race, religion, and political affiliation. There is literally nothing they won’t pass to push the GOP’s fascist ultra Christian conservative agenda. They piss on the constitution and our nation every day and laugh about it behind closed doors.

Democrats need to make election day a Federal holiday. This needs to be a campaign issue.
2
albatrossSKY Mar 28, 2026 +2
Its pathetic that the highest court in the land is basically just a HR department for Trumps tantrums. They dont care that this would essentially throw out thousands of miltary ballots from people literally serving overseas. As long as he is happy, the rest of the country can burn.
2
RobutNotRobot Mar 28, 2026 +2
Once again they will pulling something straight of their ass(ballots must arrive by and be counted on election day) that used to be left to the states. This basically means overseas and military voters will be completely disenfranchised.
2
chazd1984 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I'm not even 100% sure who even benefits from mail in voting more. It's pretty close when it comes to party lines from.negat I understand. I'm not anything that makes it easier/more accessible for people to vote. I just don't think it is gonna help MAGA as much as they think it is, it's just that was one of crybaby Trump's sticking points when he lost BIGLY to Joe.
2
miaRedDragon Mar 28, 2026 +2
>paper ballots weren’t really a thing (which I explain in my best-selling book Bad Law: Ten Popular Laws Ruining America, which you can find here, if you haven’t honored me by picking it up yet)... What kind of conceited a****** says this, "...if you haven't honored me"? Go f*** yourself, seriously lol

Capitulating with insurrectionists, foreign state backed insurrectionists, and self avowed terrorists is immediate grounds for disqualification. pretty sure the French have reliably demonstrated methods to successfully sort cowardice like this right out

Every ballot should be mail-in
2
OfficialDCShepard Mar 28, 2026 +2
I'm gonna call clickbait on this headline. Roberts and Gorsuch are both very much states-rights conservatives who are becoming wary of being seen as partisan stooges.
2
One-Ball-78 Mar 28, 2026 +2
I’ve voted by mail for at least thirty years now. Sure seems like yet another solution looking for a problem.
2
meesanohaveabooma Mar 28, 2026 +2
The Supreme Court is compromised. If they won't rule unbiased then we need to simply ignore. Our system is tearing itself apart because of partisan politics, specifically right wing.
2
numbersthen0987431 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Oh great. So if he just acts like a toddler they'll cave eventually? I didn't realize we had permissive parents running our country
2
Disincarnated Mar 29, 2026 +2
He doesn't care about mail in ballots. He needs to cause enough chaos close enough to an election so that he has plausible deniability to do something to invalidate votes. For example: 1. Reduce support for electoral locations, so people have to wait in long lines or mail in vote. 2. Supreme court rules week of election that mail in ballots are legal under certain circumstances. 3. Trump Republicans lose, but before the election ends they are already questioning legitimacy of elections. 4. They 'invalidate' votes from mail in ballots in specific districts trump lost in, saying that they were not valid because of the supreme court decision. 5. Trump Republicans win He will also have ICE at voting stations causing conflicts, because they will arrest people without reason and hold them until after voting is done. The only people who will oppose ice at voting booths will be Democrats, so they will get arrested. It also will look optically that "look at all these people ICE caught illegally voting"!
2
fundiedundie Mar 29, 2026 +2
As that geriatric prick votes by mail-in ballot.
2
tuttlebuttle Mar 29, 2026 +2
The issue isn't voting by mail. That is very unlikely to be overturned. The issue is the vote counting if it shows up after election day. This should be resolved by telling people to mail it earlier. Or give it to specific locations by specific dates.
2
eeyore134 Mar 29, 2026 +2
"Likely to cave..." is an interesting way to put it. Caving means doing something they don't want to do. They absolutely want to side with Trump. Caving would be them upholding the law.
2
jcees12 Mar 29, 2026 +2
We just have to survive this rotten regime.

BlessedAreTheWorms Mar 29, 2026 +1
It’s kinda weird how anti mail in ballot they are. A large portion of the GOP’s voter base is geriatric and would benefit greatly from mail in ballots. I guess they are really hoping for Gen Z MAGA males to show up in person to vote.
