I saw this at a festival and I don't think I've ever experienced a theater that quiet. Usually, people start rustling during the credits, but everyone just sat there in total darkness until the lights came up. It's not just a movie, it's a historical document that's impossible to shake off.

The only sound coming from the audience in my theater was sobbing

yeah, had a similar experience when I saw All That’s Left of You recently and No Other Land last year

Yes I had a similar experience. Saw this in NYC at Film Forum. Total silence during the credits, and many sniffles and sobs. Very effective, really cool that it’s getting a Hulu release.

I never thought I'd be thanking Disney for something, but THANK YOU! Finally this film gets distribution. There is no reason why only critics and college students were the only people able to see this film. Everyone needs to see and hear how the IDF targeted a family of seven in a car, shot at them 335 times, and then **bombed** the ambulance that was trying to help them. Then our corrupt politicians covered it up and pledged them *more money to do more genocide*. It's a harrowing call and my heart is with my brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Saying the only people who were able to see it were critics and college students is RIDICULOUS. It’s been available to rent in the USA for at least the last month. It’s well worth financially supporting, the movie is brilliant

ThreeTreesForTheePls Apr 2, 2026 +7
There is a **significant** difference in being available to rent and being available on streaming.

I don’t think there is at all. No one who’s interested in watching this specific movie is gonna be turned off by the need to spend 5 dollars, lmao

ThreeTreesForTheePls Apr 2, 2026 +2
It’s not about the need to buy it, and more about the ability to pass it when scrolling. You’re not going to open Netflix or Disney and scroll for two minutes then have the thought of “wait, a movie not listed here is at the front of my mind”.

Lol, wtf do you have DVDs in America?

Disney is a big funder of the g-cide.

wookiebath Apr 2, 2026 -34
Was the family associated with any terrorists?
-34
PessimisticCheer Apr 2, 2026 +23
No. The IDF are, though.
23
wookiebath Apr 3, 2026 -25
Sure they are

goddamnitwhalen Apr 3, 2026 +2
Indeed!

DankBoiix Apr 3, 2026 +7
So that would've justified shooting at a little girl 335 times?
7
wookiebath Apr 3, 2026 -13
No idea, there were no IDF soldiers in the area so you would need to ask the people who came up with that number
-13
DankBoiix Apr 3, 2026 +12
Blindly listening to what the country committing a genocide says is an odd choice. But do whatever helps u justify murdering a little girl, I guess. Satellites and journalist exist u f****** idiot. Nobody came up with the very real murder of a little girl by a Israeli tank u f****** psychopath.

wookiebath Apr 3, 2026 -5
Yeah, I will listen to them over terrorists

Glad I finally have a way to see this. I’ve been meaning to watch it for a while now. Everyone should watch this documentary. The whole world needs to know about that 5 year old girl who was trapped in a car for 12 days before being shot and killed by the IDF.

CriticalEngineering Apr 2, 2026 +31
It’s not a documentary. It uses actors.
31
SmarcusStroman Apr 2, 2026 +8
But the voice recordings of the calls are real. Honestly one of the best movies of 2025. I still can’t get over it.
8
CriticalEngineering Apr 2, 2026 +16
Yes, the voice recording is real. But it’s too important a piece for us to casually blur the lines between “dramatic retelling” and “documentary”.

I don't think anyone apart from Israeli and Americans care about these semantics. Which says more about them than anyone else

This account is a bot. Do not engage with it. It has 16 comments in 10 minutes, and is specifically engaging in aggressive political talk across multiple sublistnooks. Oh and it’s 26 days old. Edit: Went back for more, it’s down to 10 comments in 14 minutes so it’s clearly saying some shit that gets deleted lmao.

keepitfriend Apr 2, 2026 -2
LOL. Nah, not a bot. You can tell from the spelling mistakes. And I was banned for calling out Israel on world news. F*** Americans! Out of here!

Oh look, a hidden post history. How predictable.

And at one point switch to real video of the real people then back to the actors, seamlessly. Amazing film

Unpopular opinion alert: this was not a good movie. Harrowing story, sad, tragic, all the things. But the 'gimmick' for lack of a better word was too distracting, at least for me. I wish they'd have removed the 'recreation' part of it and made it a tight 40 minutes, because that would have been SO MUCH better. As is, I didn't think it was that good of a film.
