This week, ‘Babylon 5’ was added to Prime Canada, but the geniuses at Prime Video only uploaded couple random episodes from each season

Posted by Neo2199

Couple days ago, Prime Canada added the Sci-Fi series ‘Babylon 5’ to the service. I was planning to rewatch the pilot again, but I found out that only couple random episodes were available. Season 1: Episodes 4, 10, 11, 13 & 16 (5 episodes out of 22) Season 2: Episodes 6, 9, 15, 18 & 20 (5 episodes out of 22) Season 3: Episodes 2, 5, 10, 13, 14 & 20 (6 episodes out of 22) Season 4: Episodes 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16, 20 & 21 (10 episodes out of 22) Season 5: Episodes 2, 13 & 15 (3 episodes out of 22)

Isn't the first episode crucial to the entire plot of the later season story arcs?

Yep. Ideally, they should have added the TV pilot 'Babylon 5: The Gathering' or at the very least, episode one 'Midnight on the Firing Line'.

Quite of few of the *eighty f****** one* episodes they left out are important to the plot yes

They did the same thing with the long running Australian tv.series, Neighbours. Two episodes a season (1 wedding, 1 death). Frustrating asf.

They really love doing these stuff. There is an Iranian limited series called 'Kashokhin', only episode 6, *the finale*, is available on Prime Canada. 'The Newsroom', a Canadian series, not the HBO one, was added to Prime but only seasons 2 & 3. They didn't bother releasing the first season.

It's not really an uploading problem, it's a switching problem. The episodes are there, they just haven't been switched on. (I worked at two other streamers.) It was never done manually for us, so there's a bug somewhere (probably) that the engineers have to debug. *Or* there's a legal issue, but for this particular show I can't imagine what it is (e.g., licensed music).

> The episodes are there, they just haven't been switched on. Better call Zathras.

No one listens to Zathras

I wonder if this is why 8/10 episodes of S1 Versailles are missing. So annoying.

Noticed this too, very disappointed. Hoping to finally start the show.

There's been a few shows on prime I've looked at recently that are missing random episodes. Makes the service pretty useless.

In fairness, these were some of the most important episodes of the series. Like, "Believers"? A heavy handed Christian Science allegory is totally vital to understanding the long game of the Shadows and Vorlons. /s

'Believers' is an excellent episode for sure, but newcomers to the series will be lost without knowing much about the station & the B5 universe in general, and to start the series with episode 4 'Infection' makes no sense.

I was being sarcastic because I hated Believers, lol. I'm totally with you otherwise.

Was that the one with the mind-wiped monk?
1
magus-21 Mar 20, 2026 +2
No, it's the one with the alien kid whose parents won't allow the doctor to operate because they think it's sacreligious.

*Oooooohhhh* ***that*** *one*. Literally the most atrocious episode of Babylon 5.

Grey 17 is Missing is a pretty strong contender for that title, NGL.

Atharaphelun Mar 20, 2026 +1
Eh, hardly. It's subpar at worst, while *Believers* is actively infuriating due to all the events that happen and the characters involved in it.

I am so glad I got the Blu-Ray last month because it wasn't available to stream in Canada anywhere. I hope it gets fixed soon so you can enjoy it as well

This is a good thing because it means fewer people will have less exposure to Babylon 5 XD

What the hell is going on with Amazon Prime? They added the show Beast Wars and a few weeks later removed it, then they added Beast Machines and removed it a few weeks later, it’s weird.

Oh geez, is this gonna be a thing? I mean, it would be ok with some shows, I guess... Some sitcoms and procedurals, but not something like B5

Been seeing this a lot recently. Last month they added the entirety of the cult classic Canadian YA show The Odyssey...with the episodes both mislabeled *and* out of order. There's an extra level of "literally unwatchable" here because The Odyssey is a serial in which each episode begins where the previous one ended. Thankfully Tubi came in clutch.

Ah goddamn I got sick of waiting for it to show up on streaming and I bought the box set.

Law and Order was like this and then it all populated. At least there were no episodes within a season missing.

Content licensing bullshit is totally messing up streaming.

Stuff like this is why I'm glad I got the Blu rays.

That's dumb. That said, do you know what the word 'couple' means?

Maybe it's a regional thing, but here a couple always means 2 and only 2. A few means a small number, or a small number compared to the total.
