Particularly confusing when used in the same sentence as "teaming with McKay" and "sci-fi".

I'm so bummed that McKay had this movie called Average Height Average Built with Robert Pattinson all locked in, the plot being that a serial killer hires a lobbyist to try to pass a law where murder is legal, which sounds intriguing, except McKay axed this movie a few months before the production was set to roll.

Omg yes I was excited for that too. Intriguing premise and cool role for Pattinson, even if I’m a bit mixed on McKay himself

Yeah, it seemed like a really funny concept though McKay can also get a bit far up his ass with political commentary. For the record, I don’t disagree with him, but I don’t find his satire very convincing- it’s just kinda preaching to the choir. I still would’ve liked to see it at least for Pattinson in an unhinged role.

I misread his last name (Shanks) as a really graphic description of him cutting ties with McKay on a specific project.

Not sure what this is going to be but Michael Shanks + Adam McKay definitely isn’t boring

Nice, good to see Adam Mckay doing theatrical Comedies again, and good to see him doing another film. I remember he was gonna make Average Height, Average Build, but that got cancelled, and then there was a rumor he was gonna do a film about the environment, but that never came to fruition. I hope this film feels like his earlier comedies like Step Brothers, Anchorman, The Other Guys and Talladega Nights

Personally, I liked Together. Seems like it was pretty divisive though.

Nothing crazier than their relationship dying over Winning Time...a show that got cancelled in its second season.
What a sad way to end a partnership.

Me when the writer’s plagiarism accusations is going to make the movie hard to market with typical r/movies users

In my book, an accused plagiarist who made a middling movie teaming with the cringiest satirist in recent memory is indeed bad.

Shanks submitted a script for Together to the WGA prior to the short film he was accused of plagiarizing even was pitched to Franco/Brie.
