A lot of those plans are pretty close to junk coverage already.
People can afford to have a policy but not actually get healthcare due to deductables.

I'm in that boat... though it's insurance through my employer. I insure myself and my kids. My wife is on her own work policy. Every year now the monthly cost goes up (to almost a grand a month now) and the coverage gets worse. 7 years ago it was 525 a month ( i get paid monthly) and the coverage while not great was not horrible. Now? My oldest got her thumb slammed in a car door, hard. She needed xrays. And a brace. Thankfully not broken but a severe contusion of the bone.
Cost AFTER insurance: 650$
That was for the x-ray, the exam and the brace. Oh... and prescription strength Aleve. Is it any wonder I don't go to the doctor? LOL It costs me enough just to get my kids taken care of.
