Conversely, it gets worse so much faster, because Republicans love pedos
They'll write in something about cops being able to look at child genitals for any reason at any time, to "protect the children" or something heinous like that.

By someone reporting to the police the presence of a man* in the women's room.
*Terms and conditions may apply. Your actual gender identity is not relevant to this stranger's distinction. Neither is your state assigned sex. Please understand there will be no follow up to dispute the stranger determining you a man, nor the cops arresting you for it. This will include 100% cis women who aren't 'feminine' enough, especially women of color, queer women, and older women.

We had to have this discussion recently at work as I am in Kansas. Basically, we do nothing. If someone complains we basically tell them we have our bathrooms labeled. If they make a scene, we just call the cops and let them deal with it. I don't think it will ever be an issue outside of things like this post.

As much as I hate this bigoted law and want to see it repealed, a law that can’t be enforced 100% of the time doesn’t mean it’s a bad law.
Murder is illegal, but obviously there are unsolved murders out there, meaning it isn’t always “enforced”. Should murder be legal?

The debate is "Should LGBT people be allowed to exist or should religious fundamentalists and bigots be allowed to throw them camps?"

To this day I wish we just did away with gendered bathrooms entirely and just made a series of gender-neutral single-stalls, so that way the women's bathroom having one of eight stalls occupied can be opened up to me, who has to piss but the men's restroom has all 5 of its stalls occupied and I'm not shitting in the urinal. Yet.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Billings Montana has the best unintentionally trans-friendly bathrooms I’ve seen in a long time - it’s just a bunch of individual cinderblock walled rooms with a toilet and sink and a lock on the door. And while there are sections that are designated for male or female, they’re all clustered together in the same space.
Too bad I don’t plan on willingly setting foot in that city again if I don’t have to.
1
numba1cyberwarriorApr 1, 2026

Nah I'd still rather have the male bathroom as a man. If I need to go piss I don't want to be waiting on 8 people sitting at the stall.
1
Waste-Gene-7793Apr 1, 2026

It’s not about bathrooms, it’s about criminalizing trans people existing in public. They know that these laws leave trans people in a catch-22 where you’ll get police called on you regardless of what bathroom you use based on whether or not any random person guesses you’re trans or not.
You don’t pass you get police called on you in one bathroom; you do pass, you get police called on you in another. Which it is on any given day can be dependent on a variety of arbitrary factors such as how much effort you put into your outfit on a given morning, how much attention a given observer is paying, and an observer’s familiarity and stereotypes about how trans people look.
Cis people don’t usually clock trans men, even when they explicitly tell them that they’re trans. This means they are either constantly breaking the law or facing the obvious risk of getting cops called on them when women see a buff bearded dude in the women’s room.
1
JesseAsterApr 1, 2026

I imagine the Republicans feel upset they missed their chance to force a genital inspection
For those unaware, from 2023 when Kansas Republicans wanted to leave an opening for genital inspections of minors from kindergarten through college:
“Opponents of the new bill have repeatedly raised their fears and concerns that the ambiguities of this new law could mean inspections for small children.[5] Even though the law does not explicitly force or require such exams, advocates for the bill have refused to revise the bill to forbid them explicitly.[6] The Kansas law applies to all students, from kindergarten through college.”
https://www.villanova.edu/villanova/law/academics/sportslaw/commentary/mslj_blog/2023/TheDoctorWillSeeYouNowHastheKansasLegislatureOpenedTheDoorToControversialPhysicalInspectionsintheWakeofHouseBill2238.html
Dems need to reframe the terms of the trans rights debate. Republican don’t care about trans rights or healthcare policies, that’s why they never discussed them until Trump came along. What they care about is enabling sexual predation by using institutions to control our bodies.
The next time I hear anything about trans athletes, I’m shutting down that conversation. I’m taking a shit on the chess board and refusing to address anything except why the Christian Republicans are fighting for genital inspections. What could be more important than protecting our children from the Epstein class and their thugs?
