I like how the article ends with “she has since filed for divorce.” Lol no shit

Those of us who peruse r/relationships know that isn’t a given.

Right. I can also see it now on r/AITAH “Husband beat me with a rock after failing to push me off the cliff and I’m thinking of leaving him. AITAH?”

But you don’t understand he’s so loving and caring and their relationship is perfect except for this one issue.

His Alpine Divorce didn't work.

Sometimes husbands just have a bad day and don't mean to kill you.

Lol. Yeah, this isn't that. The man made a spreadsheet of text messages, tried to up her life insurance policy before the hike, literally confessed to his own child that he tried to kill her.

I think that is a bit of humor from the writer tbh lol but also could be wanting people to read till the end to find out if she’s left the a******

"I can fix him..." Dudes probably already getting marriage proposals.

>Gerhardt Konig testified that as he watched his wife crawl away, he believed his marriage and career were over, and he decided to jump to his death. But first, he called his adult son from a previous marriage. The son told authorities that his father said he “tried to kill your stepmom” — a confession Gerhardt Konig denied having made. Spoiler : he didn't jump in the end.

What is this? A Days of Our Lives reality show?

The nurses literally saw him hitting her with a rock. Multiple times.

>Her husband denied pushing her toward the edge and testified that she hit him with a rock on the side of her face. Great editing, AP.

Perhaps she had a rock tied to the side of her face, did you not think about that possibility??

In digital news, most of this editing happens after it goes live. We can either have our news fast or we can have it polished. Not both.

I want it polished, thanks.

This wasn't breaking news.

It takes 30 seconds to proofread an article for major errors like that lol. There's no excuse. A 5th grader could have spotted the issue.

I’m sorry. Other hikers interrupted the murder and witnessed him attacking her AND he called his son from a previous marriage and confessed to trying to kill the kid’s step-mom and he’s still trying to claim self defense?

That must’ve been a awkward walk back to the hotel.

she was fortunately saved by a group of women and guided back down the trail

Can he still practice as a doctor? I hope not.

Doubtful. He allegedly took home controlled substances that he had no permission to take from the hospital. The guy is a criminal.

Now justice will be done.

The lawyer's doing what he can, but even he knows the mere existence of the syringe plus "unknown substance" point to premeditation (unless a portion of the general public carries syringes around in case of possible need for self-defense).

I've heard anesthesiologists tend to be rather numb

Good for her defending herself.

I'm so intrigued by this case, I truly don't know who to believe. With no syringe being found the "confession" to his eldest son is the most interesting bit. This could be the deciding factor on who is really guilty. Did they not call the son to be a witness?

He was. And he said his dad confessed to him trying to kill his stepmother. There are also pictures of her face. The witnesses who saw it were called up to the stand You can watch the testimonies on youtube. It's clear the doctor tried to kill her

Yep, also his son still lives with the alleged victim who is technically his step mom, and not with his own dad…

Yeah, the needle was obviously hucked off the cliff…

Literally caught in the act of bashing her head in with a rock by the witnesses, a search history of looking for dangerous hikes, a motive, and a clear confession afterwards...I'm confused about what exactly you still think is missing to convince you??

Because most of what you posted was news to me.

Why do you feel the need to comment without putting in the minimal effort it takes to read the article?

Believe the woman.

Aggressive_Sky8492 Apr 8, 2026 +2
It’s not really a he said she said, it’s more of a he said they said. The two women hikers who stumbled upon them said he was the one hitting her with a rock And his son said he confessed to killing her over the phone. He was up the mountain for 8 hours after the attack, which would be plenty of time to ditch the syringe in the wilderness somewhere. Even if she was wrong (or lying) about the syringe and he never had one, it still doesn’t really exonerate him or cast doubt on the rest of the attack - it was witnessed by two other people and confirmed by another that he said he tried to kill her.
