Smith College is a private university. So, what trump is saying is the government should control private business.

Well yeah, that's what fascism does. It's pretty much a key tenet. It's state-controlled capitalism, where 'The State' = 'Dear Leader'. Private Industry is bent to His will and whims. He picks favorites, punishes companies out of favor, doles out patronage, and grifts at every opportunity.

Trump wants Republicans to control private businesses, if the government in general was allowed to control private business that would mean that Democrats would get a say. They might do horrible things like demand they treat their employees well instead of noble goals like forcing businesses to torture minority groups.

They use psychological violence all the time (gaslighting, manipulation, hypocritical criticism, etc.). And their whole purpose is to make you look bad while whitewashing what they do. Before you know, you’re confused as f***, and making yourself look bad due to anger and impotence.
Tbh, violence is the only way of breaking such a loop. You’ll look bad once, but at least you can obtain some result out of it, and your bad look will have a real reason.
Playing their game you end up looking bad, angry, confused, getting nothing and empowering them.

You see enough fully deranged anti-trans memes from right wingers and that's the only possible conclusion left. I've got a whole folder on my phone of anti-trans psychosis to show people who doubt the severity of the issue. People posting genuinely fucked up stuff, gore, murder, talking about wanting to throw trans people, even young ones like kids, into woodchippers. Sodom and Gomorrah references, talking about burning them alive. A few really mental ones going off about how they want to capture and experiment on them like the Nazis did. I don't think the average person watching comedians cracking jokes about them has any idea how deep and dark this hate movement really is.
88

All you really have to do is show people how frequently bigots try to cite suicide statistics of trans people as some sort of gotchya. That should be enough for anyone with a heart to stop and say hold on that's pretty fucked up
Citing suicide statistics, and essentially sticking trans people in a box insisting they need mental help while also reminding them of suicide statistics to make them feel worse and worse about themselves. It's pointing out suicide statistics and directly pushing those statistics to get worse, being part of the problem due to a lack of basic empathy. I have seen people proudly tout online how they need to crank those numbers up. It really is vile. I'm not willing to argue with people who left their heart in the dirt rotting a long time ago

SyncopiaMay 6, 2026

"42% lol"
"We gotta get that 42% up to 100%. Those are rookie numbers."
The number changes all the time from a****** to a******, and then you get those concern trolls who pretend they just want to help them not commit suicide. I've linked the studies showing that transitioning lowers suicidality and they'll walk right past it and continue gaslighting by insisting that transitioning is the reason they're doing it. Fully deranged, fully dishonest, fully malignant. It's sick.

It's hard to wrap my head around that kind of hatred towards people you have never spoken to, even though this happens so frequently in human history. You'd think that the DEI haters would hate the concept of women's colleges (like HBCUs) and not be trying to "protect the sanctity of women's education" or whatever bullshit they've come up with.

It literally is isn't it? RFK wanting to create an autism registry should have rang the alarm bells.
The first group given identifying arm bands and then purged by the Nazis before it got to the Jews and gypsies were people with mental and physical disabilities and mental health issues and homosexuals which was deemed a mental illness back then.
Hence why they want to loosen restrictions on school councillors and conversion therapy camps across several Republican states. Its clear as day what their ambitions are and it's not alarmist to say so.
The difference they know explicit drafted policy and legislation is unpopular across the board so they instead work through interpretations of existing law, and leaving it to the private sector and private citizens with services to enforce instead of using the state directly for plausible denialbility.

Higher education teaches students to reflect on tradition, question authority, and be open to a variety of viewpoints. Nonsense. The GOP is in favor of women in education.

No, it's more straight up than that. It's about making sure Trans people physically not exist.
Not that it was ever a secret. Because it was never about bathrooms, or women's sports.

\> Smith’s admission policy allows for “any applicants who self-identify as women”, including “cis, trans and nonbinary women”, according to the college’s [website](https://www.smith.edu/admission-aid/apply-smith/first-year-applicants#who-is-eligible-to-apply-to-smith?-1). The college opened in 1875 and counts among its alumni multiple first ladies, elected officials and civic leaders.
So this is well within the bounds of the college's admissions expectations. It's only the Trump administration that cares.
Cool. Very normal. Sane.

Which is what I'm asking. So transgender people aren't allowed at a college THEY'RE paying for? There is no rules that say anyone can't attend a college - we got rid of segregation of education.

Why has every person with an ounce of power decided to roll over and suck this guy off. I’m so sick that no one is trying to stop this guy when it has become apparent the midterms are being fixed and every day they bleed more money from this country. Someone needs to actually do something to put this moron in his place instead of rolling over. He isn’t smart, it wouldn’t take much to make him lose it.

Investigating for what, exactly?
That's the thing I'm always confused by, there's no legal law or precedent they can invoke to sue these schools, though may-hap the intention is intimidation and wasting their time and money in court in the hopes they just capitulate and do what they want.

Pretty much every women’s college started referring to themselves as “gender minority” colleges over 10 years ago. They all let in trans women. They also let in trans men. Like the only thing they don’t accept is cis men. This is not at all new. They’re also all private institutions and can do what they want. There are still mens only colleges as well.

People have [scapegoated](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimetic_theory) since the beginning of time you know.
>The scapegoat mechanism has one requirement for it to be effective in restoring the peace; all participants in the removal of the scapegoat must genuinely believe that he is guilty. It is also essential that the scapegoat cannot strike back afterwards, so it is common for him to be killed. Once he is gone, peace will quickly be restored, further confirming his "guilt". However, the scapegoat is chosen arbitrarily. The resulting peace is borne from violence, and this form of violence controlling violence has existed since the beginning of civilizations.

This should be all you need to know about trump. All you need to know about why he is a vile scumbag. There's many other reasons but this is a good one. He's a guy who wants to hurt transgender people for no good reason than he doesn't like them, or his stupid base doesn't like them, so why not just try to make their lives miserable. Or better yet just erase them from existence. This is what trump wants apparently. But I know a lot of MAGA are vile scumbags too unfortunately. They hate transgender people too just because they dare exist. Just leave them be. These MAGA idiots are such losers. They must lead such lame empty lives that they have to take it out on a bunch of innocent good people. How about just let them live their lives without you MAGA assholes terrorizing this group of people who NEVER did a goddamn thing to you.

This is just ridiculous. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. You're only threatened by them if you're insecure within yourself and the rest of the world doesn't care. We're all just trying to live.
