I genuinely thought they were supposed to be the party of "states' rights" tbh. guess that strict constitutional principle magically disappears the second it interferes with unregulated corporate gambling ngl.

It's because the people in Trump's orbit are the ones doing the predictions

If you are the one making the decision, then it is not a prediction.

One of the problems with prediction markets is that they are allowed insider trading.

States rights to Trump only means the "right" to pay for everything on their own. Fed money only goes in his and his billionaire backers pockets, not for state costs, which is everything in the state.

It’s only state’s rights when its the capacity of a state to oppress, imprison, harass, or otherwise punish people. For all other things it’s some kind of illegal if it helps people or gets in the way of the grift

Can the USA survive three more years of this administration even if it switches blue in November?

Depends how blue it switches and what they do. With the recent OLC memo calling the presidential records act unconstitutional, we’re in for another legal fight to determine the scope of each branch’s power. If Congress loses its oversight power completely by SCOTUS ruling in Trump’s favor, I’m not exactly sure what power Congress has other than being a rubber stamp, and, if that’s the case, I don’t think we live in the same country anymore.

it looks like all the "market" in US is simply gambling - there is no real weight behind the companies and the main factor is $ and our faith in its value.

Tell me you’re using prediction markets to grift without saying you’re using prediction markets to grift.

The other day there was a suspicious spike in trading just an hour before Trump announced a fake deal with Iran.
