The Trump administration announced it will pay nearly $1 billion to French energy giant TotalEnergies in exchange for the company abandoning plans to build offshore wind farms in the Atlantic Ocean and instead pursue fossil fuel projects in the US.

Not in Scotland, but then again, we just move the biggest turbines we can find and park them just offshore from his resort near Aberdeen. He hates it.

Trump's first term saw a policy of active support for fossil fuels. His 2nd term has seen a continuation of the rollback of environmental protections and new policies to support further development of fossil fuels. This is just another example of his disdain for wind farms both at home and abroad and his refusal to acknowledge the impact of global warming and the part played by fossil fuels in damaging the environment.

Plus, even if you think climate change is a hoax, the fact is that purely from an economic standpoint, renewables are the future. China is eating our lunch on this and will be controlling the energy market within a decade if the West doesn't get it together.
