Trump is the dumbest president in the history of mankind.

He is admitting to breaking the law and then flouting that there are zero consequences. Stupid or ot, it is destructive to the long term survival of our democracy. This is the government that billionaires paid for, you would think they would be a little better at their jobs.

No, hes admitting it because he is degrading the previous rules/constitution of America and he and Heritage foundation are slowly leading americans to accept this as normal, familiar etc.

Isn't the constitution the ultimate law of the land? If you violate the constitution you are violating the law regardless if corrupt politicians and SCOTUS refuse to hold you accountable.

The ultimate law of the land is the people. The constitution is just a piece of paper in a glass case.
If our representatives repeatedly break the law, stand idly by as plutocrats line their pockets, and allow corporations to pollute the land, we're supposed to kick them the f*** out and have someone else in charge.
But 33% of the voting public thought that 5 trans kids in Nebraska playing badminton was a bigger problem, and another 36% couldn't be fucked.

I mostly agree with you. My point was that if the constitution isn't followed then we are living in a lawless nation.
20% of Americans are functionally illiterate. 54% of Americans read below a sixth grade level. There has been a massively effective and sophisticated propaganda campaign for the entirety of my lifetime. People are going to fall for it. Americans are one of the most propagandized populations in the world and most would think I am crazy for saying that.
I don't see the path to get off the road that America is on. I sometimes feel like we have passed the point of fixing it by voting harder.

He's openly bragging and joking about breaking laws and committing war crimes and getting away with anything with no consequences. And he is right

This one simple comment could be put into every single thread on Reddit regardless of topic, and it would get upvoted.

I mean, that's probably not wrong.
But... He's getting away with it. He's showing how feckless the whole system is. How the "checks and balances" our democracy is supposed to guarantee are absolutely worthless when someone truly evil gets the presidency.
I hope someday, if we can recover, that changes will be made that actually prevent these kinds of action.

They are using a document written and signed by slave owners. That makes Obama the dumbest president in the history of mankind. Trump is just returning things to the original idea.

Trump just thinks being unconstitutional is 'cool' and will make the other dictators like him.

It's not being unconstitutional that he thinks is cool, it's that no one is willing to stop him.

He doesn't know what he's saying from minute to minute. And all of his sycophants just keep going on with their marching orders like "nothing to see here".

You are, but Congress doesn’t want to go on the record with a vote either, so this is what happens. The Iraq war vote continues to haunt politicians to this day, but they are in power to facilitate these conflicts, so better to just not go on the record with an actual vote.

They don't have the votes to approve a war, so they wouldn't bother bringing it up. The various war powers resolutions that Republicans keep voting down provide a record of who supports this, though.

Until you look at previous War Powers Acts and realize it's all theater.. the party in power is always going to vote with their president and everyone memory holes it.
Great for fund raising though.

No he admits that if he just uses the right vernacular, he has a better chance of getting away with shit. Especially if he more or less took over the RNC, and the Republicans/MAGA in Congress have decided they're just a part and extension of Article II now.
