That sounds like a cushy job. Especially since there's no work after Trump decided, all on his own (no Congress needed), to renovate it. I wonder why he left...

*told to leave.
Same as everyone else, an accumulation of bad press after a series of terrible decisions and someone has to be fired as the fall guy
Not like the guy who took over as chairman and renamed the place after himself has any blame at all....

Probably because it's a job with no meaning at the moment. He can't move up the totem pole because there's not much work to be done. A lot of the shows have been canceled and he's probably had trouble finding a replacement. So he's staring at a blank schedule with nothing to do or plan for. They announced a year renovation to pad the lack of shows so there's nothing to show off in that time. The boredom from menial work and bad publicity is very mentally straining.

He had the same job as anyone else Trump appoints: destroy the organization he's been tapped to lead and take the blame for it.
He's done the job so now he can be eliminated. They'll "look for a replacement" for a few days/weeks then announce it's best for the government's finances to shut it down and sell the building to one of Trump's business partners.

This guy was a massive d***** bag in Germany as chief ambassador for the US there who didn’t speak the language, knew almost nothing about the country’s history and started pushing all kinds of neo Nazi tropes, encouraging far right parties to rise up against establishment neoliberal Germans

a prestigious venue once coveted as a top destination for global talent has both recieved a name change AND been destroyed by new management..
No backlog of new talent = No income
They’ve literally ran it into the ground.. man I wish someone could’ve seen this coming..

I’d be shocked if you told me that was the whole point in the first place.

Not much point. After all the artist canceled instead of performing at the Trump-Epstein-Kennedy center of the arts its basically closed for the rest of his term. Dead job.

Trump social post incoming:
"Low Performing Kennedy Center was always a loser! Nobody wants to perform there. Not even TRUMP can save it from disastrous management! Should probably sell it!"
