Per AP News: >Trump says Russia and Ukraine have agreed to his request for a 3-day ceasefire starting Saturday and a prisoner swap. Edit: I think Ukraine should ignore it and rain on Putin's parade personally. Update: >Zelensky soon afterwards confirmed his team had received the request for a three-day ceasefire and prisoner swap, and said Ukraine is working to prepare for the exchange and would uphold "the principle of reciprocity," prioritizing the return of prisoners over strikes on Moscow. >"Red Square is less important to us than the lives of Ukrainian prisoners, who can be returned home," he said.

>...to his request... BS. He's again trying to take credit for something over which he has virtually no control.

That's as obvious as his orange makeup and diapers. He wasn't remotely interested in a ceasefire during Easter and is now for a cardboard military parade?

Do Russia and Ukraine know this?

[Zelensky confirmed it on their end](https://kyivindependent.com/breaking-trump-announces-3-day-ceasefire-between-russia-and-ukraine/). No confirmation from Russia yet.

Russia may/may not “confirm” but they definitely will not stand by it. And they’ll blame Ukraine for them not standing by it. But, Trump already knows that and is just happy to be part of Putin’s game.

Russia “confirmed” it, but I don’t expect them to honor it, either. In fact, I think it’ll play out exactly as you say it will.

And did they agree on the same 3 days?

Oh f*** off. Russia tried to call a unilateral ceasefire just so they could have their pathetic little parade and then Ukraine called their bluff by doing the same thing two days earlier. So then Russia pulls on Trumps leash to get him to try to legitimize only their ceasefire. I really don’t know how braindead you have to be to not see through this. But then again, it will work on a lot of people and they’ll continue to think Ukraine is the bad guy in all this

Putin ordered this orange swine to protect his little parade. Thank god I'm not american, I would be so ashamed that the president of the mightiest country is a mere puppet.

Translation: After the parade is over, Russia will resume strikes.

Russia already ignored Ukraines ceasfire from a couple of days ago. No reason for them to honor Russia's on the 9th.

He's only saying this to create a pretense to screw Ukraine over. I highly doubt Ukraine has agreed to anything.

Putin was shitting himself so much he had to run to Trump to get through his pathetic parade safely. Great superpower he got there.

Wtf….what an absolute piece of garbage 🤮 Edit: He’s only doing it to give Russia cover for their military day parade

1000 prisoners of war were literally used as hostages to ensure a calm parade in Moscow

trump announces a three day cease fire that happens to cover Putin’s victory parade? The day Putin had already declared as a ceasefire without asking Ukraine? Yeah, that’s not suspicious at all. I’m not convinced that trump is a direct asset of the Kremlin, but he’s sure working hard as f*** to support them.

Putin's regime is built on the narrative of May 9th Victory Day, and if someone were to ruin that celebration, it would be a major big blow to the Kremlin regime. And it seems a last-minute US president Donald Trump was made to ensure that the propaganda celebration for Putin's regime would go off without any unexpected hiccups.

Why stop there? Announce the end of war while you're at it.
3
euph_22 5 days ago +4
Didn't he say he'd end it the day after the election? Specifically before he even took office?
4
Impossible-Ground-98 5 days ago +3
what war? didn't he end it within first 24 hours of his presidency?

Uh, yeah, there is no ceasefire, because Russia already violated it multiple times after midnight. Russia is just hoping Ukraine doesn't notice since they have their big Victory Day Parade this weekend. With no military equipment for the first time in decades. Because it's all been chewed up by Ukraine. Like literally not even the 80 year old T34 tanks they always have in this thing can be there, literally everything is occupied for the Ukraine war. But, Trump is right up there today, announcing this like he did it or had anything to do with it. He probably doesn't even know the ceasefire is not a ceasefire because Russia violated it. Everybody's just waiting to see what Ukraine does during Russia's big parade tomorrow. I need to get my popcorn ready...

And why the f*** would Ukraine listen to him after he has screwed them over royally by cutting all aid, and even going as far as siding with Russia and getting in Ukraine's way?
2
Kamp13 4 days ago +2
Trump’s plan: 1. Declare ceasefire 2. When daddy P violates it Trump will blame Ukraine  3. Trump will then use that to justify no more aid to Ukraine and will start calling for us to support Russia.

Le président Trump a ajouté que tous les ukrainiens et tous les russes avaient gagné une pochette surprise avec des bonbons dedans et que la paix était signée. Bonsang, Trump est vraiment le président le plus idiot que la terre ai porté.

Isn't Russia celebrating some victory day or something starting the 9th. Ukraine threatened to do something, so of course, putin is saying there is ceasefire.

Russia will break the ceasefire tonight, and then Ukraine will have all the justification they need to attack the parade.

I can't find the article right now but thought I read about Russia's proclamation of a ceasefire for Vday yesterday or a couple days ago? Trump/US wasn't meantioned in that article at all. Anybody see that too? it is news to me that Trump or the US was involved in this at all....
