Donald Trump is negotiating with himself via social media. It’s embarrassing.

He literally is on tape a couple days ago just full dementia talking about how he loves being surrounded by idiots.

He's surrounded by idiots when he's alone in a room...
75
Stupidwhizzzzz Apr 5, 2026 +74
Why would you want to be around idiots to feel better? How dumb do you have to be? Hanging around idiots makes you one, everyone knows this. Ugh.
74
VagrantShadow Apr 6, 2026 +93
Deep down he lacks self confidence and he always wants to be around people lower than himself to make him feel better. Then on the other hand, you can point out when he is around people he wishes he was like or has been around them, wishing he could be them. [I'll never forget, at the final stretches of the presidential election and he was at a campaign rally, he was going on about arnold palmer and his p**** size, how big it was. Like he really stretched on how amazing it was, in his mind it was a mans p****. It was wild.](https://www.thewrap.com/donald-trump-arnold-palmer-p****-shower/) >“Arnold Palmer was all man. And I say that in all due respect to women, and I love women. But this guy, this guy, this is a guy that was all man. This man was strong and tough,” Trump said. >“And I refuse to say it,” Trump continued, before immediately saying what he seemed to be helpless to avoid saying: “but when he took showers with the other pros, they came out of there — they said ‘oh my god, that’s unbelievable.’” >“And I had to tell you the shower part of it, because it’s true. What can I tell you? We want to be upfront, we want to be honest.” I find it funny; the only time trump wants to be honest is when it's about another golfers p**** size.

https://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/19/donald-trump-hiring-people-smarter-than-you-is-a-mistake.html He literally said a decade ago that he never hires people smarter than he his. If you think about how dumb Trump is, then you look at guys like Hegseth and Kash Patel, at least Trump is consistent. It must be hard to find conscious people dumber than Trump, and yet they find them.
45
JKorv Apr 6, 2026 +8
He said that he doesn't want to hear about other peoples success, he wants people to listen about his success. He is deeply insecure man.

Its so infuriating that its been 10 years of him saying insane shit nearly every day, and every day its I CANT BELIEVE HE SAID THAT. Our country is so f****** stupid it makes me so mad. Theres fundamentally no point in listening to *anything* he says. He cannot *breathe* without uttering a lie or a manipulation.
15
Downunderphilosopher Apr 6, 2026 +13
Or the white house nurses who change his diaper just tell him it's Sunday every day he wakes up, so he is caught inside a Memento loop and can't act on his future threats.

Trump has no way out. None. He started this and now he’s fucked. He’s panicking and flip flopping daily. One day he says he doesn’t care about the Strait, and now he’s threatening to commit War Crimes. He’s completely unhinged. He thought he could pull a Venezuela on Iran, a massive miscalculation and arguably the biggest f*** up we’ve seen in decades, if not ever. He’s too weak of a man to admit he made a mistake; so now he’s going to burn the world down.
333
merryman1 Apr 5, 2026 +77
The big question is how long the sane-washing machine keeps going. How long the media system around him is willing to let themselves be made to look like fools having to take each new statement seriously and uncritically.
77
BarelyAirborne Apr 5, 2026 +33
Gas in the US is heading to $9/gallon, but only if this isn't worse than 1973. 1973 sucked. I had a Boss 302 Mustang in 1973. Gas went from 0.32/gallon to over a dollar. If this is worse than '73? Holy hell.
33
pomskygirl Apr 6, 2026 +16
Many places in the world are already over $9/gallon USD.
16
Danejir Apr 6, 2026 +5
Yeah, but this is America. Weve spent decades bombing whole countries and killing civilians to keep our gas prices low for a reason.

I looked at his TS activity this morning when it was reported what he said. He posts poll after poll of his approval rating generated by CPAC and another company. They are all in the 90%+. Yes-men in action…

ConfederacyOfDunces_ Apr 6, 2026 +28
I read reports that Trump is literally getting all of his information and strategy from Fox News, not our own Intelligence agencies. Really let that sink in…….. The President is letting a propaganda machine that works for him, feed him information and tactics on what to do next. We spend billions a year in Intelligence and yet; he doesn’t even listen to them. Tulsi Gabbard testified on in front of Congress two weeks ago, she said, Iran “is not an imminent threat”. Gabbard is the Director of National Intelligence……. Trump is going to start WW3 and get everyone killed for what? His f****** ego. He served no one but himself. He doesn’t give a single f*** about the American people or anyone else for that matter.
28
Black_Moons Apr 6, 2026 +2
Right up until the rich owners of the media decide that trump is losing them money and not handing every dollar in the USA over to them on a silver platter. Oh im sorry, rich *owner*, I forgot there was only 1 who owned the entire US media now.

22
Calimariae Apr 6, 2026 +7
Because he lives in an information vacuum and doesn’t know how to use technology. He delegates his social media nonsense blabbering to his lackey, Medvedev. Medvedev is a drunken clown who makes Trump-like threats every single day. https://www.businessinsider.com/vladimir-putin-never-uses-cellphone-internet-russian-defector-says-2023-4 There is more evidence suggesting that Putin is dumb as shit than that he is smart.

ToonaSandWatch Apr 5, 2026 +28
The man was always willing to burn the world down if it meant keeping himself out of prison for one reason or another. The walls are closing in and he’s got enough bodies to throw in front of him until even the most die hard walk away (like MTG). He would happily push the button and hide in a hole with his daughter as the last woman on earth.

In terms of major military miscalculations in the recent past (less than 100 years), I’d say that this is on par with Germany and Russia in the 40s

I've said Democrats need to run a white male next election presidential election no matter what.  I hope some day that's not true but sadly it's not going to be true any time soon.
253
pegothejerk Apr 6, 2026 +52
They need to put in someone electable that won’t be afraid to tackle economic issues, because if they don’t, the next president will be an even worse republican that is far more dangerous than Trump. Which is saying a lot. If Dems put in a boring electable white dude who just keeps enriching the already ultra wealthy at the expense of the lower classes, there might never be a democrat elected to president again.
52
TreatAffectionate453 Apr 6, 2026 +37
They'd need a sizable majority in Congress for that. Biden tried to tackle a lot of economic issues with Build Back Better, but Sinema and Joe Manchin forced him to widdle most of it away.
37
DoingCharleyWork Apr 6, 2026 +22
Doesn't matter who they put up when there's so much disinformation about dem candidates. Anyone remember all the people who didn't want to vote for kamala because she was gonna start a war with the middle east and support Israel? Hmm what's going on right now? What did Trump say about gaza at that time? Give Israel bigger bombs and turn gaza into beachfront property. But these people didn't care.
22
Tidzor Apr 6, 2026 +4
Sorry not trying to be annoying but as a non American that proposition still sounds way better than Trump? Why would it be worse? At least we'd be done with his massive bullshitery.
4
DoublePostedBroski Apr 6, 2026 +111
Democrats hate democrats. Gen Z wants a democratic socialist, which is never going to happen. And they’re not willing to compromise. The rest want a center-left Biden-type but will abstain if that candidate has one differing point of view. Democrats are single-issue candidates and will abandon the whole party if they dislike one thing. Republicans win because they’re willing to look past things and vote aligned to the party.
111
Redgen87 Apr 6, 2026 +69
Republican voters tend to be loyal to the party no matter what, at least in my life experience. Regardless of how slimy the nominee is. Meanwhile you check out something like the politics sub Listnook and it’s a bunch of democrats arguing with each other about accountability and the Dem party offering a lesser evil over an actual progressive candidate. The politics here in the US are and have been a f****** mess and social media has only made it worse.
69
Linenoise77 Apr 6, 2026 +26
We have crossed into fullblown populism at this point. Positions, reality, context, none of it matters. Just that you can be the best whatever by supporting a candidate who says they are the best whatever
26
kn0where Apr 6, 2026 +37
Bernie Sanders is never gonna come close in a primary. AOC will never be in Congress. Zohran Mamdani will never be mayor. Sure seems like democratic socialists are gaining traction.
37
ngunter7 Apr 6, 2026 +74
And in between the two women Biden did absolutely nothing to hold him accountable in any way
74
Positive_Total_8651 Apr 6, 2026 +39
Biden tried to play it safe by not going harder on pushing the DOJ to prosecute him. Part of me respects that he wasn't willing to weaponize his post and tried to serve as an example, the pragmatic part of me hates that we literally *all* knew it was going to be *really really bad* if trump won again and they should have sent his ass to prison.
39
chadwickipedia Apr 6, 2026 +7
He assumed Trump wouldn’t run again. I blame Garland more than anything. I feel like he was awol for 4 years
7
harrisarah Apr 6, 2026 +16
Biden shouldn't have chosen Garland (a f****** Republican) in the first place
16
daguerrotype_type Apr 6, 2026 +5
I mean, he was being prosecuted when he won the election. I can see from the obvious abuse of power Trump is doing in the justice department that POTUS has a lot more leeway in justice than European presidents or prime-ministers, but perhaps the only thing Biden could do was move things along faster. Which he was not really known for, sorry for the stupid joke. And with all the talks that he can pardon himself, so ridiculous that the ”tough on crime” crowd elected this clown.
5
fakieTreFlip Apr 6, 2026 +55
It's honestly pretty astonishing, isn't it? You have Hillary Clinton, arguably one of the most qualified people to ever run for president, go up against Donald Trump, *unquestionably* the least qualified person to ever run for president, and America says "absolutely the f*** not". Once he beat Harris, I knew for sure that America would never elect a woman as president. At least not in my lifetime.
55
Hiker-Redbeard Apr 6, 2026 +25
By 2016 people were absolutely over status quo politics, and Hillary was as status quo as they came. The other two popular candidates that cycle were Trump and Bernie who are about as non-status quo as we've seen lately.  And Kamala didn't win a primary, she was never a popular/desired candidate regardless of gender I think.  Both being women was absolutely a factor, but there were a lot of other factors that went into both of those that weren't there in 2020.
25
SurfingKenny Apr 6, 2026 +28
To be fair Hilary had a smear campaign against her for a very long time.  People simply hated her for existing basically, due to the propaganda and constant negativity being thrown around about her.  She was definitely qualified however her chances of winning were slim.  The fact the Democratic Party didn’t take this issue into account is a bit surprising.
28
Bellegante Apr 6, 2026 +25
Yeah, she had a smear campaign against her for *decades before she tried running for president* and the idea they could run her was laughable. It's definitely a good example of the Democratic party being completely out of touch. It reminds me of them saying "we have to train the electorate" ..
25
Silver-End9570 Apr 6, 2026 +7
Everyone's forgetting about the Electoral College too. Bush Jr. wouldn't have won one of the elections without them, and Trump's won both times pretty much exclusively because of them. The American election system was always broken, Trump just pushed it to critical mass.
7
Black_Moons Apr 6, 2026 +16
Democrats only seem to want to run whatever candidate that the republicans have had 20+ years to run a smear campaign on. Biggest reason obama won was because they only had about 2 years tops to run a smear campaign.
16
Fictional-adult Apr 6, 2026 +16
> arguably one of the most qualified people to ever run for president No question she was more qualified than him, but… what? Clinton held a safe Democratic senate seat (in a state she didn’t even live in) for 8 years, then did 4 years as Secretary of State.  She was a moderately qualified candidate at best, and if you actually watched her campaign even that is generous.
16
Agitated_Ad7576 Apr 6, 2026 +12
Yeah, I didn't like Hillary or Kamala and was just voting against Trump. And lots of people in my circle said the same thing. To be honest, I didn't even like Obama at first, a one term senator without any major legislation. America got lucky that his other gifts matched his speaking skills.
12
Shadrach77 Apr 5, 2026 +49
50 years of concerted media effort led to a solid, unquestioning base. No matter how bad a Republican may seem, the Democrats are always painted as much, much worse. (I know this from firsthand experience). The last-minute shift from Biden to Harris excited many Democrats, but it really turned off the Independents. And her getting all milquetoast after a short time just sealed the deal.
49
Galaghan Apr 6, 2026 +7
English is my third language and I can't stop staring at the word milquetoast.
7
Solidify0118 Apr 6, 2026 +12
It's simple. He's had the setup in place to steal the election in 2016, 2020, and 2024. It didn't work in 2020 because it doesn't work on mail in ballots, hence why he wants to make them illegal. It all makes sense when you just think about it.

MAGA was a display of just how broke the US is. It's not just Trump, it's all the supporters he has. Every one of them lacks empathy and critical thinking
5
ThatGenericName2 Apr 6, 2026 +5
The optimistic view is that it didn’t. If you look at the election results between 2024 and 2020, trump gained 3 million votes while the democrats lost 6 million. You can see it as people decided the chance of Trump winning was a preferable alternative to voting for a Democrat candidate that they didn’t fully agree with. The reality was that the Dem campaign was ultimately a mess and was banking too much on people not wanting Trump. Unfortunately that wasn’t actually enough to motivate people to vote against Trump.

I would argue his mind is born broken or through upbringing, to be void of any human quality,

There’s also nobody with his pull over the maga cult. I’m not naive but I also think the ‘wait until a smart Trump replaces him’ responses ignore his unique pull and unique instability.
5
_Daedalus_ Apr 5, 2026 +51
I'm actually not that worried about what comes after. The cult that he's somehow built follows *him*, not the Republican party. They've put all their eggs in the Trump basket. When he's finally does die the power vacuum and infighting will last ages.
51
myburdentobear Apr 5, 2026 +16
Hopefully it will give a decent subset of people that are in too deep to ever admit they made a mistake with Trump an off ramp.

pre_pun Apr 5, 2026 +56
Two days ago from Trump's lips, we didn't need the strait at all and it was up to every other country that needs it, to secure it .. now it's war crime city if they don't "Open the Fuckin' Strait". Trump is going wreck the world as we know it if he isn't gone. With all the military leaders let go by Hegshit ... they want to do something incredibly stupid.

At least Vance has coherent thoughts. They may be bad or evil thoughts but they are predictable in a way and can be countered. Trump is batshit senile crazy and that's a lot worse than whatever Vance could do.

Every time I see or hear Trump, I have a vision of his PR people jumping out of windows in Embarrassment. He is supposed to be a politician, and by definition, the president is. But he is on the extreme end of that word.

I'm used to his erratic changes of deadlines and his shifting promises of negotiations. I can't get used to the fact that Congress accepts his threats of committing war crimes. Of course, they said nothing about Hegseth's call for no quarter so I guess Trump's ignoring the Geneva Conventions is acceptable. I'm equally surprised that MAGA voters mostly still support this after he ran on a no-wars platform.

Trump said all this shit several weeks ago.  He's talking..he's lying On March 23, he said they had 48 hours or he was obliterating them to.   Just another empty stupid threat

He can extend it by one month, one Year.... Strait of Hormuz will remain closed for enemy Tankers
7
WasThatInappropriate Apr 5, 2026 +8
The guy is so scared of having ultimatums rejected that he just extends every time someone says no to him. How many countries have now ignored him and have indefinitely rolling threats out against them?
8

This is like if the entire world was watching someone break up with their partner and then send 1000 text messages alternating begging and threatening them to get back together And then get left on read

If you are seriously about to invade a country you do not advertise it to the world. The truth is that Trump is in a small bubble, built by himself, but which now acts a reflective filter between him and reality. He repeatedly demonstrates that he lives in his own bubble, independent of reality. The actual decisions are made by a circle of advisors. In other words, the cabinet has turned Trump into a media event which has no relevance to the actions of the government. A cabal has taken over America.
6
shiitakebukkake Apr 5, 2026 +8
What a weak, pathetic loser.
8
punkasstubabitch Apr 5, 2026 +11
How do we know it’s even Trump posting? We haven’t seen him once amid the Walter Red rumors. At this point, I’m not convinced it’s him. His other post did not have Trump tone to it. And you know what else we’re missing a crazy unhinged rant where he wishes Easter to everybody, but somehow turns it into a crazy rant that’s a wall of text insanity.

No guys- we already won the war. He tweeted it on March 24th- “the war in Iran has been won.” Anything else you hear is fake news from the fake liberal media. That straight of Hormuz is so open it might as well be called the gay of Hormuz.

RealisticEntity Apr 7, 2026 +4
>"Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time!" he simply said on his Truth Social platform. I wonder if Trump tells anyone in his government about these changes before he tweets them on social media. Or are they all scrambling to take action or backing out of impending action as soon as these social media posts are sent?
