Let me get this straight. Cuba has blackouts. The country is "next". His words. Food. Medicine. Energy. Running short. Immediately afterward, oil is let through from.... his daddy. Daddy's picture is mounted on the wall in the White House. And the only thing you can think of is to justify it. Are you actually OK? Mentally? Politics are hard. This thing is much easier if you just assume Trump is a monster. It all starts to make more sense from there. Just accept it. Embrace it. It becomes *so much easier* once you do.

Yeah I hate Trump as much as the next man but this is a silly thing to be angry about.
Even if it's to help "fill Putin's coffers" or whatever, getting oil to Cubans who are facing a major humanitarian crisis right now takes precedence over everything else.
Also, what's stopping other countries to do the same? More sanctions? The horror!

For decades wealthy Cubans who fled wanted their lands back, wanted the U.S. to make that happen. They were big Republican donors.
The old men still left and their descendants, and children of poor Cubans like Rubio, still want the U.S. to help them take over Cuba.

What's weird is we stole oil from Venezuela. They normally sell oil to Cuba which we want to be aligned with us rather than Russia and China. Why didn't we turn around and sell the oil we stole to the people who normally buy it?
