Every bill printed by the US Treasury is a promissory note. "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". It conveys value which is backed by the US Treasury. Having Trump sign it is to relegate the note to trash status, since the man is known to back out of deals and leave the other side short on payments owed.

Where US currency belongs, US economy is hobo trash fire.

I know the news is almost all bought and paid for but I am really tired of things like this that are utterly off the wall insane being "breaks with tradition" and other softening of the severity. Bonus for not one article I have seen pointing out how he's putting banners with his own picture on them on government buildings, put his face on the national parks pass, put his likeness on a coin, etc. It's just one weird little thing, not a pattern of destructive narcissism, at all. Nothing to see here.

Sort of like how “ICE murdered 2 US citizens in Minnesota” now gets covered by the media as: “Two Minnesota residents lost their lives in confrontations with ICE agents.”

DeadPeanutSociety Mar 27, 2026 +3
Two MN residents compromised to a permanent end after run-in with bullets from an ICE agent's gun

shoobe01 Mar 27, 2026 +3
Good one. And I have seen it softer than that of late, more like "...during ICE enforcement actions in MN..." as though they were scared and had a heart attack, or crashed their car or something, not shot to death for no damned reason.

The media is owned by billionaire traitors who deserves worse than prison.

So many conservatives are constantly like "I don't like this, this is ridiculous, but he libs are upset so I'm good with it". Their policy points now are "I don't care if it fucks us over, as long as they're upset about it!"

>President Trump could soon have his face on two separate coins, a commemorative one to honor the country's 250th birthday and a $1 coin. We discuss the long list of other government entities that have added Trump's name or face and why it matters. This episode: voting correspondent Miles Parks, senior White House correspondent Tamara Keith, and senior national political correspondent Mara Liasson. Is it even legal tender if you have a convicted criminal sign the bills? I for one will not be accepting any cash with his picture or signature.

Also, we have never had a living president on currency. Maybe we should stick with tradition and give him what he wants?

I had to read that twice.

lorilightning79 Mar 27, 2026 +2

I intend to deface every $1.00 I get

ChodaRagu Mar 27, 2026 +3
According to the laws on the books with the Treasury Department, a bill that still has at least 51% of its paper and both serial numbers visible/readable, is still a valid form of currency. I imagine there’s going to be a lot of defaced paper for years to come.

Gooser3000 Mar 27, 2026 +2
So he’s backing the currency and all debts with his personal wealth?

Every single bill is gonna have PRESIDENT PEDOPHILE written on it, and then Republicans will have to explain to their children what that word means!
