It is going to be absolutely mind-boggling the number of impeachment trials that are going to happen, one right after another, post mid-terms. There's enough material left over from the Jack Smith trial plus all the illegal c*** Trump has done in the first two years of office - it could be non-stop trials in the Senate for a year or more.
26
IrrelevantLeprechaunMar 27, 2026

The Trump regime Nuremberg trials are going to make the actual original Nuremberg trials look like small claims court.
I can't wait. It's going to be amazing to watch.
10
leontesMar 27, 2026
+5
Yeah there will a choice in strategy and I think it could it could go both ways. Have a couple huge impeachments, focusing on the most egregious of his actions or just start a rolling impeachment of all impeachment worthy actions of his administration, tying up both the house and senate with impeachment after impeachment, trial after trial. I think #2 is less likely.
5
GG1817Mar 27, 2026
+5
\#2 would be amazing to watch and the cumulative impact could be more meaningful and substantial than one singular massive impeachment charge and trial which the GOP wouldn't vote for.
My thinking is after a long stream of trials lasting months to a year, eventually enough GOP senators might vote for conviction simply to get Trump out of the way with the hopes that Vance might be electable.
5
Sofer2113Mar 27, 2026
+3
\#2 could spectacularly backfire though. There are a lot of impeachable offenses that have occurred, from turning the DOJ into a personal law firm for the president, killing unarmed citizens, kidnapping immigrants on their way to/from immigration hearings, the innumerable personal enrichments happening, etc. However, if you drag every single member of this administration into an impeachment and you have a year or 2 of doing almost nothing but impeachment hearings, it's going to look vindictive to your average uninformed voter, who unfortunately place a large role in deciding elections. You also have to contend with the case of the Senate not convicting them and it makes it seem that much worse in optics.
I think impeachment hearings need to happen, but they do need to be focused on the worst offenses and least defensible first. Bondi is probably a prime candidate for the first impeachment.
3
Mental-Stage7410Mar 28, 2026
+3
Impeachment is basically meaningless unless the Senate actually moves to remove people from office. This would require the Democrats to have a minimum of 67 seats in the Senate and keep them all in line to voter Trump out of office. Not to mention it would require a Dem majority in the house.

You’re first going to have to convince the Supreme Court under its own 2024 opinion in Trump v. US that his acts were entirely personal in nature. So long as they are within the “outer limits” (whatever the f*** that means) of his official powers he has the presumption of immunity.
Next you’re going to have to litigate whether a President can pardon himself (Trump will).
The SC will dodge #2 because they’ll find everything he did to be within the outer limits.
I don’t think the GOP will ever allow him to be convicted of impeachment and he will never see the inside of a cell.
