Maybe Putin wants the to remind Trump of that Sword of Damocles. So Putin had Melania do it.

I wonder if she did it on purpose just to spite Donny. I mean the guy did bulldoze 'her' wing of the whitehouse to build a frivolous boondoggle.

There is a non-zero chance that she was put up to it in an attempt to pull attention away from the Iran war since that has turned out to be almost worse for Trump than the Epstein files were.

Maybe, having Republican voters paying north of $6 for gas on average combined with job losses from the damaged economy / tariffs and higher prices for groceries and the Mid Term Elections not far away, they are struggling to work out how to appeal to voters

Nearly six months ago. lines up perfectly. * [https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/DocumentList?docketId=xa7yy7bTaeiM2Y61WePLaA==&display=all&courtType=New%20York%20County%20Supreme%20Court&resultsPageNum=1](https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/DocumentList?docketId=xa7yy7bTaeiM2Y61WePLaA==&display=all&courtType=New%20York%20County%20Supreme%20Court&resultsPageNum=1) * Not a lawyer but looks like her lawyer played every card to delay, including avoiding being served and then moving court venues. That gets us to January. * Her counsel would have filed a motion to dismiss. Wolff's counsel would send an opposition brief that would preview the evidence they intend to present to the court (that she met Trump through Epstein, was a prostitute, etc.) So, that might be interesting if it is attached to/ included with the court's decision. NY has anti-SLAPP statutes that mandate the court needs to rule within 60 to 90 days.  * So, court ruling is due any day now. Until they rule, discovery is frozen. * As soon as that ruling comes down, everyone in Epstein's circle is going to get subpoena'd including Melania herself.

You just cracked it. The anti-SLAPP timing is the missing piece everyone else missed. One thing: didn’t she set a trap for herself? NY anti-SLAPP actually cuts both ways. If the court finds her statement yesterday constitutes further participation in the public controversy — and a First Lady speaking from the White House podium almost certainly does — she may have just strengthened Wolff’s argument that this is a matter of legitimate public concern, which is precisely the standard anti-SLAPP protection requires. Just curious to know what you think?

Wolff said he would talk about it, in the next podcast on Saturday (to the extent his lawyers don't gag him) ... they briefly touched upon Melania's curious speech at the White House, in the [most recent "***Inside Trump's Head*** " podcast \[2026-April-10\]](https://youtu.be/nohzN1dSczE?t=53) ... in the meantime... also from The Daily Beast * ... She can't be made to testify against Trump, marriage

Anubis-Jute Apr 10, 2026 +6
But if the court case isn’t against Trump, is that still an obstacle? And if it is civil suit, can she even plead the 5th to at least avoiding incriminating herself?

Fun fact: DC has never liked Trump and never voted in any meaningful way for Trump, we're talking something like 0.1% or basically the Republican staffers. When I drove for Uber, it was funny watching Trumpers realize that no one in DC liked Trump.

GriffinQ Apr 10, 2026 +15
No major American city comes close to the level of disdain that DC has for Trump.

GriffinQ Apr 10, 2026 +20
NYC was a 68-30 split in favor of Kamala. DC was a **90-6** split in favor of Kamala. It’s an entirely different scale of loathing.

"disdain" and literally all it is is people continuing to uphold the status quo while sneering a bit when they drive by the white house. Edit: you can always tell Listnook is predominantly American because you'll always end up with down voted for identifying that Americans are responsible for their ieh country regardless of who they voted for. Accountability sucks, huh?

GriffinQ Apr 10, 2026 +2
Which is different from any other city? You want people from DC to try and fight the guy in the street? DC participates in voting against Trump and his ilk at a more significant rate than any other major population center in the country. That’s a fact.
2
IrrelevantLeprechaun Apr 10, 2026 -5
The concept of collective action really is completely alien to Americans isn't it. Always with you guys deflecting responsibility; "I agree something should be done so long as *someone else* does it." This is why america has fallen. Nothing is *ever* your guys' responsibility.

GriffinQ Apr 10, 2026 +4
Take a hint from your name and remain irrelevant. People love to talk about what other people *should* do from the c**** seats, but it’s real big talk to tell people online what they are and are not doing and what they should be doing from behind a screen. Real tough guy behavior.

What are you even talking about? There's been protests both terms nearly daily in DC. Hell, so far the people that have put up the most fight have been federal workers, especially those in DC. I know, I've been to several of them. DC residents effectively have no political power. There have also been several major protest across the US that has drawn between 1 to 3% of the population. In pretty much every election that matters the people made sure Republicans don't win.

I didn’t know that but how come congress keeps helping him? Do they do it out of hate!

Active_Complaint_480 Apr 10, 2026 +13
First off, 'merica needs to stop electing the dumbest of their village and sending them to DC. I was talking residents.

IrrelevantLeprechaun Apr 10, 2026 +6
Americans also need to read a history book and learn how other nations forcibly remove tyrannical leaders. This whole "I have bills to pay, paycheck to paycheck" rhetoric is frankly quite concerning considering almost every notable mass protest, strike or general civil movement for human rights was undertaken by people who had all the same livelihood responsibilities as you and me. "We will hope it fixes itself after midterms" is not a strategy. It's more of a shot in the dark. And the rest of the entire developed world is paying the price.

Active_Complaint_480 Apr 11, 2026
My comment is more general and applicable across decades. Maybe stop being such a pretentious ass. You should take your own advice and read a history book or two and start gathering data, because throwing a tyrannical leader out of office usually does not go well and typically relies on outside forces to do it. How many decades was Hitler in power? How many decades was the Soviets in Power? How many decades has the CCP been in power? How long as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard been in power? The Assad Family? How long has Korea had the Kims in power? Do you want me to keep going? Otherwise, what you just said is romanticized bullshit.

Just more excuses for why none of you will take any initiative. You keep deferring things or shirking things like everything will magically get fixed once the specific amount of times passes. And you wonder why the *entire world* holds Americans in such poor regard. Newsflash, buddy: it isn't some conspiracy or lack of education. There are just a lot of valid reasons nobody much likes Americans. And y'all keep proving it whenever you try to argue your case.

They know if they oppose him it's the end of their careers at the moment, so they just play along. Just like the establishment democrats make noise about opposing him but didn't do anything when they had the chance between terms. It's pure theater

Not to mention the death threats from the whackos. Trump vomits hatred toward somebody on toxic social, his cult immediately goes to work.

Wackos is the understatement of the year. Trumpers are the most vile people ever created.

Most of the life long republicans don't like him in DC. Elected officials feel like they have to play ball to keep their jobs. But in private they talk shit for sure.

I really feel sorry for  jimmy kimmel.  How popular is he if he's a  night show host Monday thru Friday?  Do you how many people are in bed at 11:35 pm that have to work during the week. He's just filling a position if he can't get work in the day time or a weekend gig.  ABC really screwed him over.  But good for him for not being pissoff by this.  Maybe this is why he goes after trump and his family as much as he does. He can't get another job or a step up.

And see folks that’s an ad homonym attack, And the comment above thinks that you didn’t notice that he didn’t engage with the subject matter at all. So I’ll ask him, what do you think of the fact that Trump didn’t even know his own wife was making a statement about Epstein? And now we’re gonna watch you not answer that and embarrass yourself again. Do you see how that works?
