Trump heading to China for high-stakes meeting with Xi
Trade, Taiwan and tensions with Iran are surefire topics for President Trump's meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

They’ll give him nothing, he’ll pretend like they’ve caved, manipulate the markets with a tariff or three, TACO, and move onto the next scam.

Trump had been played by China and Russia. The Americans are in a Mexican standoff with Iran on the strait of Hormuz. If only trump believed American intelligence rather than Russian and Israel , we would not be in a war over the claim. Iran has a nuclear bomb.

He'll get a parade and more fanasies about being a dictorator himself.

Because of Trump the US is starting every negotiation with other countries at a deficit. Only Norway might be better off with the Trump oil / economic crisis.

Why can the title not finish out like: “…and he was never seen again.”

Zyeesi May 12, 2026 +10
Why'd China want him gone lol

Lionheart51st May 12, 2026 +3
Majority of the US currently wants him gone.

LA_Ramz May 12, 2026 +11
China doesnt though. He's dismantling the US all by himself

I just want to be clear on this, I don’t care what China wants. My comment pertains to the vast majority of this country (US) wanting him gone from here. 😂 Guy could go to Narnia for all I care. Anywhere is better than him being here.

curious__curiosity May 13, 2026 +2
Tell him narnia dosnt exist, and he's not allowed to go, and they have oil and lots of islands populated with children.. He'll find a way..

Canada let's a few Chinese EVs in to help their farmers, and these Americans never shut up about it. Even saw Slotkin the other day going on about how they just want to use them to take pictures of her state. Oh, China is going to own us now. What about what China does to Taiwan? Trump goes and now China and Xi are amazing. Let's talk about how the US can help China take Taiwan without our interference. This is why Americans aren't taken seriously. Its all fear mongering until they can get something out of it.

Until they elect the next maniac afterwards. There's no reason to expect the US will do any better next time.

I hope Xi's translator understands Dementia. Maybe just put trump in a room with a robotic version of Xi while the adults actually get things done.

Queltis6000 May 12, 2026 +2
High stakes and they send Trump? F****** YIKES.

Melodic_Crow_3409 May 12, 2026 +3
He’s screwed. He has no more soft power.
3
PanneKopp May 12, 2026 +2
He holds no trump cards; his usual bullying tactics against weaker parties will yield him nothing, while his war against Iran weakens the USA and makes Taiwan all the more vulnerable to falling victim to Xi.
2
tiradium May 12, 2026 +4
Taiwan saw that and are slowly trying to get something instead of nothing out of this. China's takeover will not be violent or anything like that rather just a methodical and calculated "merger"
4
Exciting-Emu-3324 May 12, 2026 +2
At this point the US is bullying Taiwan more than China is. At least China isn't racist against Taiwan and being an autonomous province of China may be better than whatever Taiwan has with US right now.
2
tiradium May 12, 2026 +3
Precisely, US has shown that you cant really trust or rely on them if things go south. I am sure if Taiwan asked for helped US will ask for some really ridiculous things in return so they will be better of being part of China
3
Ill-Understanding280 May 12, 2026 +1
I also see that happening

phicks_law May 12, 2026 -2
The US arent the only country that has stakes in Taiwan being independent of China. Almost the entire free world does based on their chip manufacturing capability. Although the US has the largest military to support them their are a lot of other allies that wont just let Taiwan be overrun by China.

abbzug May 12, 2026 +2
Best case scenario: We'll drop the tariffs if you say you're going to buy a bunch of stuff you actually won't buy or were planning to buy anyway. Worst case scenario: We'll help you with Taiwan if you help us with the Strait.

So, the problem Dump creates everybody else pays for an then he begs/threatens others to fix it. Americans, you get what you deserve

It would be a tremendous success if the meeting turns out to be a huge nothingburger. The alternative is Trump saying something stupid and triggering yet another tariff war.
