How are they gonna pay if they can’t move their product without getting blown up and that product funds the entire country? I’ll never understand how he ran as a businessman and people actually believed it, every time he talks I think a rock might make better decisions.

Watching world politics these last 10 years has really been fascinating. Just bully and lie your way to success. If you bully enough people you might just float to the top.  Having morals seems like playing life on hard mode these days. Until you stop watching the news for a while and realise good people do exist.

random_encounters42 Mar 30, 2026 +46
Unfortunately, bully, lie, blackmail and bribes, to the top only really works if you are rich. Because when you get caught, the money will protect you, that's not the case for us normal folks, you just go to jail.

rustoren Mar 30, 2026 +35
Shit with no substance also floats to the top! I know what I think of the orange guy!
35
Brief_Amicus_Curiae Mar 30, 2026 +7
Add the internet mob of social media followers who are okay with stalking, doxxing and harassing anyone Trump rants about, regardless of any facts. I think The Apprentice helped re-brand Trump from a gauche Atlantic City c***** loser and NY real estate developer that no one wanted to work with or include I. Social circles but I think the real appeal was the birtherism and how Twitterxsnd Facebook in 2015 wasn’t really ready for the implications or if they did, they didn’t care. I think a social observation is how important moderation on these platforms is important and yet both platforms are owned and run by insane billionaires who want to see society burn or something

This has been the way of the world for as long as humankind has existed. We have just circled back to the point where optics do not matter.
11
Doom_Corp Mar 30, 2026 +17
I mean if you're on deaths door and have a couple good years ahead of you to shit and piss wherever you feel like with impunity before the court system catches up, why not throw a match behind you and walk away without looking back at the explosion.
17
Fischerking92 Mar 30, 2026 +34
Because it is morally horrifying and even if you don't believe in a life after death, wouldn't you at least want to be remembered as having being a good person? (And if you do believe in an afterlife, well, let's just say I think the orange man has accrued quite a bit of karmic debt)

"Good person, bad person, doesn't matter as long as I'm remembered." --trump, probably.

I don't think they were arguing *for* that. I think they were trying to explain what Trump is thinking.

Doom_Corp Mar 30, 2026 +18
I want to hold your hand, give you a tea and a blanket, settle you on a very comfy chair and then kneel in front of you to seriously ask you "What morals?" Things got very very muddy when I learned about Fritz Haber recently who is the father of chemical warfare. He developed a way for the world to manufacture ammonia (so he could beat his rival to the punch) so we could make fertilizer and if he hadn't done that the world would have seen a famine unlike anyone had ever seen by the 1960s (his tech we are dependent on is also contributing to a global ecosystem collapse 100 years later and distinctly reliant on oil but I digress). It's estimated the population would be 40% less of what it is today. He was also the first scientist and "patriot" as a secular/non practicing Jew for Germany in WWI that developed chlorine gas and was on the front lines to tell them how to use it. He also later developed versions of gases, Mustard gas in particular, that could get through gas masks. Einstein (who was a friend of his because at this juncture a lot of science was small and most top scientists spoke to each other) told him he was a f****** idiot for doing things so heinous and trusting the government to give a shit about him. Haber made a shit tonne of money because he was awarded 10% on sales (which included how to make gunpowder when ww1 would have ended in a couple months and when he figured it out he got money on every bullet manufactured) but had to flee and spelunk around Europe until he died of heart failure at 65 because if he tried to take is money out of Germany he'd loose almost all of it. He had a distinctive high point and then lost all of it because of a religion that marked him and a government that was willing to utilize individuals that didn't see other people as people. Einstein helped smuggle his children out of Europe. The rest of his extended family in Poland...died due to the lice treatments he developed that were unfortunately used to poison people during WW2.

A psychopathic narcissist will see the universal recognition of a certain failed artist from Austria as exactly as desirable to his egotistical needs as that carpenter’s son from Nazareth.

FFXIVHousingClub Mar 31, 2026 +3
If Trump fiddled kids then there’s little to no chance he has morals. If he has morals, there’s little chance he can laugh at someone dying from cancer was it (?) and laugh about killing people He’s definitely just riding his high before he’s dead, I think most of us would in his shoes just even controlling the stock market with mere tweets is an insane amount of power and he could’ve stayed golfing but nope, gotta start some world wars too

I am starting to suspect that a lot of american businessmen don't know how to run a successful business with competition, they only know how to squash/buy competition and run a monopoly.
8
himswim28 Mar 30, 2026 +12
> How are they gonna pay if they can’t move their product They paid Trump personally, so this is the start of the propaganda to his base 1). Ask for the money. 2) Say they agreed. 3) claim they paid for everything. 4) call anyone who asks about or ever says otherwise is fake news .

So basically Trump started a war **before** he sorted out the funding, the support, the end goals, the military allies, the economic effects and the diplomatic impacts. Extremely well planned by a real jenius.

Every time I think about this shit, I am blown away by how stupid the man is. And I don't just mean, "Oh he misspeaks and it's funny and he sounds stupid", like Bush Jr. was. I mean, genuinely, that Trump is a stupid person. Like his IQ is probably 90. And combining that with malignant narcissism and attaining the most powerful office in the world, it starts to get incredibly dangerous.

Even Donald’s mom knew he was an idiot and didn’t want him in politics. She knew better than everyone and 77 million still voted for him.

Iran has approved a bill imposing tolls on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to multiple media reports citing the state-controlled Fars news agency. The proposal also includes a ban on U.S. and Israeli ships transiting the strait. Art of the deal, m***********!

He said we'd be winning so much that we'd get tired of it. He was right. I'm so tired of it. What I cannot wrap my head around are the people who constantly call any criticism of Trump as "TDS" (Trump Derangement Syndrome). Those people are too far gone.
42
ElectricalGene6146 Mar 30, 2026 +15
Let’s be honest here, no US or Israeli ships were using this as a pathway before
15
Schlonzig Mar 30, 2026 +21
All ships are registered in Panama or whatever, right?
21
willstr1 Mar 30, 2026 +9
I don't think there are any US flagged cargo ships other than ones doing domestic routes (where they are required to be US flagged under the Jones Act). So basically all this would ban for the US is the US Navy
9
Alive_kiwi_7001 Mar 30, 2026 +151
Pay the US to get Iran to knock out your own desalination plants and oil fields. It makes perfect sense. I can't see why anybody would think it's a bad idea.

4
globalzee Mar 31, 2026 +22
I don't get it. This war was planned and executed by Israel. The gulf states and no other allies were given advance notice of this war. When missiles start flying, it's Israel that receives the interceptors while the gulf states are left defenceless. Now when it's time to pay, it's the gulf states that are pushed to pay and not Israel. Help me make sense of this.

6

Let me get this straight: he waltzes in and bombs the beejeezus out of Iran without warning, only collusion with Russia, Israel, and Saudi Arabia; calls on NATO allies to join in; raids the public funds for healthcare and airport security to do so (and allegedly build a ballroom!); meanwhile, in response Iran turns its weapons on its neighbours; then Trump invites them to fund more bombing in the region. Am I missing anything?

Every talking point from the Trump Administration is wrong : > * White House says talks with Iran continuing and progressing well Are there even talks? Most of the leadership got targeted and killed. I was of the impression that the various more or less independently governed IRGC groups conducting retaliatory strikes were past the talking stage. > * Trump has idea that Arab countries will pay for Iran war, WH says Not sure why Trump & Co would think that. If anything, all the affected surrounding countries may request compensation from the US to rebuild their oil and gas and other infrastructure destroyed by the war. Maybe Saudi Arabia would see a need to provide incentives since they were quietly encouraging the US. > * Trump has suggested regime change in Iran is complete No - it's only just begun - if that is even still an objective. There has been no regime change if the IRGC is still in control. Leaving now and not finishing the job will just ensure the regime has and will retain complete control over the Strait of Hormuz by threat of force, and they will no longer care about retaliation since they had already lost most of what they had.

Officially reached the delusional stage of this relationship.
2
TsunamaRama Mar 30, 2026 +2
God he’s so f****** stupid
2
cdoink Mar 30, 2026 +2
If you can’t afford the war maybe don’t have the war. But what do I know?
2
MR_Nobody_204 Mar 30, 2026 +2
This is the campaign promise "Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it" all over again.
2
filmguy36 Mar 30, 2026 +2
He’s trying every which way to pry himself out of his colossal f*** up. If he can get one country to go along with his bullshit, he will rope them in and then dump everything on them while he skates away.
2
Dudeus-Maximus Mar 30, 2026 +2
Someone needs to break it to him that the reparations for this war are going to be coming out of his pocket.
2
farseer6 Mar 30, 2026 +2
Maybe Mexico can pay, as soon as they finish paying the wall.
2
Embarrassed_dancer Mar 30, 2026 +2
Trump is always ready for a handout lol.
2
bird_is_the_word_198 Mar 30, 2026 +2
Help pay for a war that is dumbass started, nah deal with your self fat ass
2
throwaway_beefpho Mar 30, 2026 +2
Even though Arab states have so much money they don’t know what to do with it, I would hope they’ll tell him to go pound sand.
2
sirhackenslash Mar 30, 2026 +2
Did he say it all mobster style? Like, "It would be a shame if we ran out of money and had to start looking for more oil to fund our military"
2
redonkulousness Mar 30, 2026 +2
I’m tired of the edging, can our government just collapse already?
2
Firm-Advertising5396 Mar 30, 2026 +2
He's trying to get Arab states to pay Iran for damages. He is still trying to find victory in this disaster that he created.
2
TheMightySet69 Mar 30, 2026 +2
Hey, remember that war that we started and completely fucked up that you didn't ask for that unnecessarily made you a target for missle strikes? Here's your bill.
2
jollytoes Mar 30, 2026 +2
I’m pretty sure they paid billions to Jared and gave Trump a jet and that’s just what we know of.
2
Golden_Alchemy Mar 30, 2026 +2
I can't believe how many people fall for him thinking they can scam him and his scams are "make everything worse for everyone involved" and he ask for more money.
2
Alamata626 Mar 30, 2026 +2
He conned them out of $1 billion each for his Board of Peace and now he's back for more.
2
roof_baby Mar 30, 2026 +5
That’s why you can’t feed stray pedophiles
5
flimflammedzimzammed Mar 30, 2026 +2
What's the difference between a mercanery and trump? Absolutely none. As long as that f*** has taxpayers money to make it happen.....
2
bwoah07_gp2 Mar 30, 2026 +2
He tried to get Mexico to pay for the wall. That didn't work. The Arab nations are gonna laugh in Trump's badly spray tanned face when hearing his proposal. "I start war, you cover the costs."
2
robjpod Mar 31, 2026 +2
Why aren’t they picking up?
2
siouxbee1434 Mar 31, 2026 +2
That boy has spent his life using other people’s money but I’m sure the Arab countries will happily pay for Israel’s war 😆
2
mental_reincarnation Mar 31, 2026 +2
It’s just an excuse to illegally funnel more money to him and his family
2
SyncroTDi Mar 31, 2026 +2
Anyone but him.
2
DrBix Mar 31, 2026 +2
Trump's been robbing the US blind, let him f****** pay.
2
RowdyRoddyRosenstein Mar 31, 2026 +2
Make the check payable to the same offshore account the Venezuelan oil sales went to.
2
TheChaoticCollective Mar 31, 2026 +2
You'd think the master negotiator would have made that arrangement before he started the war.. No no you wouldn't
2
darkrood Mar 31, 2026 +2
"uhm... WE PAID already, you sure you want us to show EVERYONE the receipt?"
2
jawndell Mar 31, 2026 +2
Where the f*** is the planning for such a big undertaking. This shit you figure out BEFORE you start a war with a country.
2
FK11111 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Wonder how the American people feel about this. Their commander-in-chief is being paid by outsiders to send their boys off to die.
2
AusTex2019 Mar 31, 2026 +2
They already hold an ungodly amount of US debt, asking them for more is being kind of piggish.
2
Stress6009 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Started what he can’t finish.
2
it_diedinhermouth Mar 31, 2026 +2
How about the US go away. Yankee go home!
2
ashleyshaefferr Mar 31, 2026 +2
This is so embarrassing Trump has effectively knocked the USA down a few pegs in the hierarchy of the world
2
Peter225B Mar 31, 2026 +2
They can pay Trump directly by purchasing into his crypto scheme.
2
kaewan Mar 31, 2026 +2
Sure, but we gotta dump all our US treasuries to pay for it.
2
doolpicate Mar 31, 2026 +2
The Arab states need to man up and call out the US for what it has done to the region. Either the monarchies throw the US out or the people throw the monarchies out. The time to decide is running out. When the water runs out, it finally will.
2
snower88 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Time to alienate USA
2
BLYNDLUCK Mar 31, 2026 +2
The war that is blowing up there oil infrastructure and stopping their exports. Now with Trump threatening Iran’s power plants and desalination those Arab states are facing even more destruction of their vital infrastructure.
2
RumRunnersHideaway Mar 31, 2026 +2
Maybe mexico will pay for it.
2
MikeAppleTree Mar 31, 2026 +2
With trump coin.
2
Rasples1998 Mar 31, 2026 +2
This shit-stain is obsessed with the idea of someone paying someone else. Like NATO, he and the rest of the MAGAtards can't seem to understand that NATO spending is another country's domestic defence spending, not a tax paid to or from the US. And the mexican border wall that he kept saying they would pay for. Now he's starting a war, causing a mess, and leaving it to the neighbors to deal with. He's finally found a situation he can't walk away from because he's bored, and this is it. He can't just declare victory and go home, this will stay with him until he's dead.
2
I_am_BrokenCog Mar 31, 2026 +2
at least trumpff is consistent. drive a building project into bankruptcy and call other banks for loans was his business plan for twenty plus years. Then he switched to being the only living person to ever be able to bankrupt a c*****. And called on Russian oligarchs to bail him out.
2
-averagecadaver- Mar 31, 2026 +2
Trump interested in calling on Mexico to help pay for border wall, White House says
2
airwalker08 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Trump has profitted enough from being president. He can pay for it from his own pocket.
2
Dry-Clock-1470 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Didn't the already bribe him with billions?
2
pxer80 Mar 31, 2026 +2
He could start with Israel, then Saudi Arabia.
2
shalelord Mar 31, 2026 +2
i guess we are a mercenary country now
2
DrKlitface Mar 31, 2026 +2
This is the most demented thing yet. Start a war that disrupts the region, and risks ruining the economies of all the nearby "allies", then charge them for it
2
framsanon Mar 31, 2026 +2
When Russia started the invasion of the Ukraine in 2022, they thought it would be a quick "military operation" lasting only a few weeks. When Trump started the "military operation" in 2026, he thought it would be over in a short period of time …
2
Aggressive_Nature708 Mar 31, 2026 +2
He makes a mess. You clean up
2
QuietCola-Roaster Mar 31, 2026 +2
So this is what, 17 wars he’s stopped now?
2
Comfortable-Face4593 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Yes Arab states, the Israeli cowards (who would happily mule you tomorrow)and us are causing you to be attacked please pay for it.
2
Xanthus179 Mar 31, 2026 +2
I don’t know about you all, but I have to check my bank account before making a big, dumb purchase.
2
PositiveMix9649 Mar 31, 2026 +2
If you don’t pay us, Iran is going to blow up your country.
