It’s so true.
On a similar trajectory, my husband was talking about him firing Pam Bondi to stop her from appearing in a deposition and we were talking about how dumb he is. My husband was impersonating him and started with “my bad.”
I was like babe, that dude has never apologized or uttered anything close to my bad in his entire life, lol.
But I like all the drama around his dumb cabinet and how Donny feels like a cornered rat. He’s probably freaking out as much as a narcissist can.

JD Vance (Peter Thiel) and Republicans are likely trying to hold out until January 20 past the halfway point of Trump's term to invoke the 25th Amendment so it wouldn't count against Vance's 2-term limit.

Not exactly no.
So the way it works:
VP writes letter saying President isn't able to be President
President then files letter to say they are able to be President.
VP then has chance to file a 2nd letter saying the President is wrong and canf be President.
That kicks the issue to congress, who then vote (requiring 2/3rd majority in both houses for President to be removed) on the issue.
So if congress is willing to back the play, Trumps gone.

The majority of the cabinet members need to agree to invoke the 25th Amendment, it's not up to just Vance. I suspect Trump would have to go full vegetable (meaning comatose) on live television before the current cabinet members would be forced to do something about it. Otherwise the Trump's handlers will just try to hide his condition. I guess the good news is that Trump is already too far gone to understand how he looks to people, and is therefore not cooperating with efforts to hide it. He may just have a stroke on stage one of these days. And Thiel et al. may be running out of time.

Removing him does nothing (good) for either individual. Vance would be a lame duck for two years and head into a Republican primary that'll see him as the guy who fucked Trump over. Thiel may want that but it's political suicide for Vance's ambitions. What's more than likely to happen is Trump is impeached but remains in office for the remainder of his term. Assuming he even lives out his term obviously.

So just yesterday it was reported that he [discussed firing Attorney General Pam Bondi](https://old.listnook.com/r/politics/comments/1s9znrq/trump_has_discussed_firing_attorney_general_pam/), polled his advisers [about replacing Tulsi Gabbard as intelligence chief]( https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/apr/02/trump-tulsi-gabbard-intelligence-chief), and 'jokingly' (he doesn't joke) said he will blame JD Vance if we can't make a deal with Iran.
Edit: As people have mentioned, in that span Trump [also 'jokingly' blamed White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt for the media's unfavorable coverage of him.](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/bad-publicity-trump-weirdly-suggests-122731575.html) Also, Pam Bondi got fired today.

It's always kind of funny, if also sad and depressing, that Trump thinks saying "This person I hired for this very important role actually is really stupid and bad and terrible for the job" and somehow believes that doesn't reflect poorly on him at all.
The person who just left a national security role, Trump said something like "He was a nice guy but wasn't very good with security, I always said that." *Then why would you hire him for that position?*
380
Yellowdog727Apr 2, 2026

It was exactly the same way with his first term and it blows my mind that so many people still voted for him in 2024.
Something like half of his former cabinet, his former VP, and several other close advisors and lawyers turned against him and refused to endorse him. Some had very negative things to say about him.
He was CONSTANTLY firing people for allegedly being "incompetent" or for not being loyal as soon as anything went wrong or if they went against him. When he gets questioned about any of this he just plays dumb and says stuff like "I didn't know much about them". This is coming from the guy that boasted about how he has "the best people" and how smart he allegedly is.
This is incredibly damning against him and there's no good option. Either:
A) People close to him realize how bad he is
B) Ge picks incompetent people because he himself is incompetent
C) He's constantly being fooled/duped
D) All of the above

They would have kept ICE focused on actual violent criminals. And they certainly would have forcefully told Trump that his war with Iran would be a disaster.

When Trump hired Joe Kent to head counterterrorism he wrote the exact opposite, obviously he believed Kent has strong security credentials.
“As a soldier, Green Beret, and CIA officer, Joe has hunted down terrorists and criminals his entire adult life,” Trump wrote on X. “Joe will help us keep America safe by eradicating all terrorism, from the jihadists around the World, to the cartels in our backyard.”
Trump lies to make himself look better. That is what he always does. He didn't "always", or even "ever", say that Joe Kent "wasn't very good with security."

I've wasted too much breath pointing that out during his first term to think it has any meaning to Trump supporters. It would surprise me except this is literally what happens in middle management all the time. I’ve been with the same company for 15 years and we are constantly letting people go/they quit and I will hear “that person wasn’t right for the job” or whatever excuse they make up.
Ok so the same person is in charge of hiring, training, and firing. Who should we blame when only 1/5 trainees stay on the job past 12 months? *Definitely* not that guy. It’s incredible. But it’s just how things go sometimes and Trump is the perfect example of managing to skate along blaming everyone else and no one ever thinking “wait a minute, doesn’t that mean you aren’t doing a very good job in your role?”

Iran demanding JD Vance be the negotiator was a stroke of genius by their leadership. It forces Vance to pick a side when it comes to where he falls on the war. He either goes against his boss by trying to effectively negotiate a peace deal that gives Iran more power than they had in the region or he's forced to be in favor of the war. He either upsets Trump by giving Iran a solid peace deal, or he's forced to come out in favor of the war, which is a bad look for a future political office.
The Trump Administration is in so far over it's head.

I think that this will be the biggest struggle of JD Vance's, or even Rubio's, attempt to run for president.
The amount of absolute dogshit Kamala Harris got for being VP under Biden, who was a perfectly fine president, is *nothing* compared to what Vance should face leading up to the election. Assuming he bucks up and acts like a big boy, he's going to get some very tough questions on everything Trump has taken a bulldozer to -- aka everything.
That's why he's trying to position himself as a sort of light opposition to the war while Rubio is waist deep in it. I don't think that whatever he's going to try will work out too well considering he's not really that popular anyway and Trump is unlikely to choose a "MAGA successor."

From Vance, it's not a bad game plan. He's a thoroughly vile, spineless amoeba of a politician, only chosen out of his loyalty to Project 2025 and because Trump felt Vance wasn't charismatic enough to be a threat to his own popularity as a pedophile.
All Vance has to do is wait and he could become POTUS just from Trump dying of his many various diseases.

Vance can scream "25th amendment" all he wants. Technically this does give him the powers of president, maybe, but literally Trump just has to then say "nah, I'm good, I can still be president" and he's president again.
Otherwise the 25th amendment requires a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate. Which is harder than impeachment & removal.
> Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless...

Looking from Europe (Denmark). What will be worse for the world? More Donald Trump or J.D. Vance?

More Trump. Vance doesn't have the party and voter loyalty to continue the mafia style extortion racquet the US government currently is.

More Vance. Vance is much smarter and can seem somewhat reasonable on the surface. But he is just as insane and hate Europe just as much. He can become a more competent Trump if he gains power.

Can he? Trump's got the brand recognition, he was in Home Alone 2, he's been on TV etc
Vance is known for the fat vance meme, extracurricular activities with a sofa, and his 180° switch on Trump

I don't know.. But the republicans need someone after Trump. And if they manage to make Vance seem like a grown up reasonable republican, some of those MAGA people who might have be alienated by Trump by now, might switch to Vance. But I don't know. I just think Vance might be able to do more harm, because he give more power to Silicon Valley fascist without looking absolutely insane.

It's not Vance. Competence doesn't enter into it. The GOP is held together right now out of one thing, fear of getting on Trumps bad side (with a side serving of ongoing personal gain from loyalty, as the GOP always does).
Vance was chosen out of loyalty to Project 2025 and because he's so uncharismatic that Trump didn't see any kind of threat to his own popularity as king pedophile.
That same lack of charisma and lack of power means that Vance cannot threaten rogue Republicans from stabbing him gleefully in the back if they think they'll be better off with him gone.
Vance being more "competent" wouldn't make the GOP become more loyal to him... Trump has already given the Epstein class more than they could dream of right under the noses of voters. Vance isn't popular enough to get away with the same thing.

What's interesting here is Vance is trying to walk the tight-rope of setting himself up for 2028 by being the guy in Trump's camp who was against the war in Iran while not appearing unloyal to his boss. Trump has detected this and so he's now pressuring Vance into owning the war

Keep it up everyone!
So far, we have MTG who switched sides, and he's fired Bovino, Noem and now Bondi. We still have Miller, Hooman, Rubio, Hegseth, and Vance to go.
So what if he replaces them with equally bad people. The more noteworthy people against trump, the better. He's falling apart.

I’d like to see Trump try to fire him. Like Trump, Vance is an elected official and can only be removed by impeachment and a trial. The VP can’t even be removed by the 25th Amendment.

Iran can do the funniest thing and require Trump to be present for negotiations, not JD Vance.
2
Solid_OwlApr 2, 2026

This is funny because Iran demanded to negotiate with Vance - who didn't even want Trump to attack them in the first place - because they don't trust Trump, because they know he won't be in office much longer, and because Kushner and Witkoff are so stupid.
Ironically, JD Vance might actually be the smartest person in the room.

NOTE: I am not advocating for violence against anyone or talking about prior violence that has been committed.
