Suddenly JD Vance is remembering why Trump needed another Vice President in the first place.

twirlingmypubes Mar 26, 2026 +95
It's only a matter of time until Vance is in the exact same position pense found himself in. Hopefully he makes the same decision to save democracy

Sad_Locksmith_2904 Mar 26, 2026 +100
The thing is, Vance wouldn’t make the same decision as Pence. Pence has bad values, but he *does* have values and moral convictions. Vance is an eel.

SoullessCabalite Mar 26, 2026 +45
Eels are fascinating animals and deserve more research and respect. Unlike Vance.

Precisely. Pence is reprehensible to me, but i have no doubt he actually believes in the things he vomits out of his porcelain face. Vance has no soul, he will apparently do and say whatever it takes to gain power.
17
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 27, 2026 +4
Well, if he wanted power, he should start kicking around proposing the 25th Let them infight
4
thisisjustascreename Mar 27, 2026 +2
He'll even change his name three times if that's what it takes.
2
krcrooks Mar 27, 2026 +1
That’s Jamertha Dingle Vance you’re talking about, put some respect on his name
1
Upset_Match_3705 Mar 27, 2026 +2
That was a prerequisite. After Thiel pushed him forward, Trump had only one question: “Would you coup for me?”
2
Dr-Mumm-Rah Mar 27, 2026 +1
Vince is more like Mr. Oogie Boogie in a used car salesman skin.

ScotTheDuck Mar 26, 2026 +52
Vance also has significantly tighter legal handcuffs than Pence did because of the 2022 reforms to the Electoral Count Act. The law now outright says the Vice President’s role is purely ceremonial, plus significantly increased objection thresholds (now 20% of both houses, not just a single Representative and a single Senator).
52
forthewatch39 Mar 26, 2026 +33
Probably should be a lot higher than a 20% threshold. I could easily see twenty Republican Senators and 87 Republican Representatives refuse to accept the results of an election.

Laws don't matter to people who break laws

kia75 Mar 26, 2026 +34
Pence was genuine. A genuine idiot, but genuine, Pence truly believed in the God of the Bible and tried to follow him as he understood it, from a Evangelical Fundamental point of view that looked at the Wrath of God instead of the Love of God. This is why, after running from mentor to mentor trying to justify what Trump told him to do, Pence eventually did what his understanding of God told him to do. Vance isn't like that, there is no "genuine" there. Vance is there only for power and only to do the job of his billionaire financiers. I'm not saying that Vance wouldn't betray Trump, Vance would completely turn on Trump in a second if he thought it would give him more power! I'm saying that Vance would never do anything for the right reasons, only to do something that would benefit him. He'd only 25th amendment Trump if he was confident he himself would survive the ensuing power struggle, his positions and stance are only for his survival, not the the USAs.
34
420_E-SportsMasta Mar 26, 2026 +5
He will only make that decision if it benefits him more than not making it
5
iPinch89 Mar 26, 2026 +2
It's not possible. Trump cant run again so he won't be in the position to falsely certify Trump as the w*****.
2
NuclearLunchDectcted Mar 27, 2026 +1
They are already laying down the groundwork for a 3rd term. When it eventually hits the SC, you can expect "In a shocking 6-3 decision..."
1
iPinch89 Mar 27, 2026 +1
There is no groundwork to lay. The constitution explicitly disallows it in pretty plain language.
1
NuclearLunchDectcted Mar 27, 2026 +1
That has not stopped them from violating other rights already.
1
iPinch89 Mar 27, 2026 +1
What youre suggesting is different and would be open rebellion and the US would be over. If thats the case, it doesnt matter.

Vance is waiting for Jan 27, 2027.
2
allothernamestaken Mar 26, 2026 +2
At that point he can finish Trump's term and still have two of his own, right?

10 years of Jorkin Depeenus Vance.

These people are more dysfunctional than a blended family in a sitcom 🤦‍♀️ this Netflix show would not get renewed for a second season
37
Cocheeeze Mar 26, 2026 +12
Reminds me of my favourite joke from “y to 2020”, told from the perspective of a British woman: “I found this great reality TV show called ‘America’.  It’s a bit far fetched though, I don’t believe any of this stuff would actually happen in real life.”
12
illogical_mindset Mar 26, 2026 +3
You need 7 seasons for this type of Flanderization of the plot and it feels like the writers of our reality are running out of ideas even though the show is massively profitable.

Whatever happens in the mid-terms, Trump is not going to support Vance for 2028 and he'll try to line up MAGA behind Rubio. The question for Vance is then does he run against MAGA, tapping into the Turning Point USA crowd, naming Erika Kirk as his running mate, and just blowing up this whole right-wing coalition. Nobody in Trump world trusts JD Vance. That's becoming quite clear.
30
JaronJervis Mar 26, 2026 +24
Rubio will be the death knell for MAGA. Even the MaGats will reject him., they are into charisma and loud talking, and outrageous claims. Rubio has none of this. The most charismatic thing he's done lately is wear clown sized shoes to please his Lord Dumpster
24
MagnusPI Mar 26, 2026 +6
Gonna be funny watching the Latino son of Cuban immigrants trying to court the anti-immigrant, white-supremacist voters.
6
kia75 Mar 26, 2026 +17
Trump is not going to support *anyone* for 2028, Trump doesn't give away power, and if he thinks someone is trying to take power away from him, or even the limelight he has no problem stabbing them in the back! 2028 will be either Trump III despite the constitutionality, a Trump proxy that will let Trump remain president and call the shots, or a Republican civil war.
17
Romantic_Piscean Mar 26, 2026 +11
I've wondered if the plan is this in a highly manipulated election... \- Donald Trump, Jr. runs for President. A Trump proxy for VP. \- Trump the Elder is voted in as Speaker of the House. (You don't not need to be a member). \- Trump Jr. resigns, the VP resigns, Trump the Elder becomes President for a third term. The Constitution prohibits someone from being elected for a third term. It does not say you cannot serve as President. And I think this Supreme Court would sign off.
11
thedarkpolitique Mar 27, 2026 +5
That is quite the loophole. Interesting lay out - there is certainly an argument to be made if the wording in the constitution refers solely to being ‘elected’.
5
Romantic_Piscean Mar 27, 2026 +4
Exactly. The 22nd Amendment says "no person shall be elected to the office of President more than twice." Says nothing about serving, being appointed, etc. I think that language is absolutely someone like Miller is parsing. They'd likely have to work around the 12th Amendment regarding the VP s***, but Trump as Speaker, two pre-planned resignations and I think he has a third term.
4
thedarkpolitique Mar 27, 2026 +1
The only question really is whether the Supreme Court would focus on strict interpretation of the wording or the spirit of the constitution, and given the proclivities of the court I think we know what way they’ll be inclined to choose. If memory serves me correctly the 22nd amendment was passed after FDR remained beyond the two terms, and congress seeking to codify what was common before him. So I think the spirit of the constitution is clear. The only thing that might not go according to the plan you set out (where Trump is speaker first) is that it requires two intentional resignations - by people who aren’t Teflon don - and to whom consequences will stick. Will they be lay down on the sword? I’m not so sure.
1
Romantic_Piscean Mar 27, 2026 +2
Getting two people to resign is a stunning test of loyalty. If we're to that point in this scenario, I tend to think we're firmly into authoritarianism and the two people are likely family. Don Jr. and Eric, for example. But I do think this is the scenario Bannon is talking about when he says Trump will have a third term.
2
18MazdaCX5 Mar 27, 2026 +1
You know if it comes to interpretation though... these days SCOTUS will always defer to the interpretation that favors Mr. Trump.
1
DethFeRok Mar 26, 2026 +7
There is a very real possibility that something severe health wise happens to Trump in the next two years- incapacitating mental degeneration, stroke, etc. He is f****** old. Once he is no longer in the picture the whole crew eats each other trying to come out on top.
7
DudesworthMannington Mar 26, 2026 +3
100% Trump will support Trump for 2028
3
teamdiabetes11 Mar 26, 2026 +12
Oh, Vance’ll be tapping Erika Kirk for sure. 🤢
12
thenasch Mar 26, 2026 +4
Why do you think Rubio?
4
Romantic_Piscean Mar 26, 2026 +3
He's showing loyalty, which Trump values more than anything, and along with Vance, is the only member of the Trump inner circle who has a resume to justify consideration. Nobody else is nationally likable - Cotton, Cruz, Hawley, DeSantis, Greene, etc., and Vance isn't at all trusted in Trump's inner circle. The wildcard as I see it is Nikki Haley, who is just sitting out this mess. That might actually be a good platform for 2028.
3
CalyShadezz Mar 26, 2026 +2
Ol' Junior is just as qualified a Trump was in 2016.
2
mattyhtown Mar 26, 2026 +1
Yup. And we can’t forget about Eric. Ivanka is a woman so prolly not. But maybe.
1
Romantic_Piscean Mar 26, 2026 +1
They are selling Trump 2028 merch. It doesn't say which Trump. Just sayin'.
1
thenasch Mar 26, 2026 +2
"the only member of the Trump inner circle who has a resume to justify consideration." He's never been concerned with that before...
2
Romantic_Piscean Mar 26, 2026 +1
Name another cabinet member who could reasonably run for President?! It's a cabinet of dunces, so Rubio does stand out.
1
thenasch Mar 27, 2026 +2
I'm having trouble imagining Trump endorsing anyone to succeed him because that would mean admitting he can't be president any more.
2
Smaynard6000 Mar 26, 2026 +2
>Trump is not going to support Vance for 2028 and he'll try to line up MAGA behind Rubio. Not a chance. Trump is going to kick and scream, trying to run for a third term. If he fails, he's not supporting anyone else. He couldn't possibly give a shit who comes after him.
2
Romantic_Piscean Mar 26, 2026 +2
I honestly don't think his health is going to make it until 2028.
2
mvallas1073 Mar 27, 2026 +1
Pffft… first off, Trump himself will run - just because the law says he can’t Secondly, he will endorse only someone with a Trump name. America (in his mind) belongs to HIM. No one else. If Trump nominates a successor, it will be either Don Jr (cus name) or Barron Trump. I wish I was kidding…
1
turbo-toots Mar 26, 2026 +49
Vance is such a dumb couch f*****. He witnessed what happened to the last guy that had his job and thought, "yup that sounds good".
49
sexeveg314 Mar 26, 2026 +21
Not his fault, they fluffed him with pictures of Whitehouse furniture until he wasn't thinking clearly and accepted the job.

Probably drooling about the golden tassels on silk and velvet cushions.
1
ATLfalcons27 Mar 26, 2026 +8
This was probably his only real chance in. Even with Thiels backing he's a wet rag and likely could not make a political career past being a senator. There was legitimate worry he might lose in Ohio as well but managed to end up winning He'll be fine monetarily no matter what so this really was the best choice for him even if he was taking a massive gamble on potentially being Pence lite
8
freethrowtommy Mar 26, 2026 +4
Being a Senator is odd.  There are some real dipshits (don’t look at my flair…FRJ) who keep getting elected, over and over again.  Vance probably could have sat in Ohio for a long time.  He would have just shifted his personality with the wind… dude is a snake, through and through.

Whatever makes sense
1
triscuitsrule Mar 26, 2026 +1
He thought the same thing every neckbeard thinks- that’s he’s smarter than everyone else and things will turn out differently for him. Except it won’t, and will probably be worse because he’s actually one of the neckbeards that support Trump, which is why they hate him so much. He’s a reflection of their own awkward, grating, unpleasant personalities. MAGA makes neckbeards feel powerful. JD reminds them that at the end of the day, they won’t be accepted, and are still just a bunch of neckbeards that everyone can’t stand. The difference with JD is he knows how to pretend like he isn’t a neckbeard and get along with liberals and “normies” when he wants. But if you ask me, he’s nothing more than a typical hubristic 4chan user who likes to play troll, has little respect for others, and thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. Except he’s not smarter. He’s just willing to be the hypocrite that others aren’t. In the end, his downfall is going to be his hubris. Trump will offer JD up to the MAGA faithful and they will gladly destroy that reflection of themselves.

Vance "saved face" on the war? He's been hiding under a rock!
12
teamdiabetes11 Mar 26, 2026 +6
Exactly! He’s done nothing to make it look worse. Vance winning by hiding, somehow. Perfect Republican logic.

There's a reason why he says he knows he's not getting into Heaven.....

This president named T proves every day that he is 1000% the wrong person for the job. It’s a shame that people don’t burst into flames after committing a certain number of their own misdeeds.
3
Taint_Liquor Mar 26, 2026 +5
I can't imagine how horrible and stressful it'd be to be in this administration. Constantly looking over your shoulder, suspecting everyone of wanting to stab you in the back and the knowledge that Yam T*** will eventually turn on you, no matter how much you drink the kool-aid and slobber on his mushroom.
5
sexeveg314 Mar 26, 2026 +7
These are all horrible people, liars, hypocrites, chronic back stabbers. This is how they live, they probably think it's totally normal.

It’s like game of thrones, but the thrones are all toilets
3
JaronJervis Mar 26, 2026 +3
If Vance , or Mace, or any of the MAGAts think this will save them from total destruction this November or in 2028. they had better take their heads completely out of Trump's ass, and think again.
3

Watch out JD. His fans tried to hang his last VP

Shocker.

Trump is quite literally incapable of doing anything in secret. He is incapable of keeping his goddamn pie hole shut for more than 30 seconds without insulting or talking shit.
2
18MazdaCX5 Mar 27, 2026 +1
I got a prize today from Iran. I can't tell you what it is. The next day... oh the prize.. yea 10 oil tankers!
1
CosmicQuantum42 Mar 26, 2026 +2
There is no saving face. Vance = Trump = Iran war If Vance doesn’t like that he can speak out publicly (and then urge the Senate to cut his supposed war powers) or resign. Otherwise Vance owns this as much as Trump. “Trump and Vance’s War” just keep repeating it.
2
18MazdaCX5 Mar 27, 2026 +2
Seems like not much of a secret...
2
Royal_Carpet_1263 Mar 26, 2026 +1
And the man has a lotta face to save.

Now if Vance could only grow some couch balls and stand up to Trump. But, that will never happen because I'm sure Vance is now worse.

I can’t wait for this pathetic clown to disappear into obscurity after this is over.
1
Guacsalsaqueso Mar 26, 2026 +1
Vance wants to be President and represents the “American First” faction, which is just Christian Nationalism mixed with isolation. MAGA is whatever Trump says or believes in that day.  Maddie, MTG, Vance, Carlson are all “America First.”
