It was so telling that he recently asked the Japanese prime minister "why didn't you tell ME about Pearl Harbor?" Forget about the why, I was struggling to understand *how* he expected them to tell someone who wouldn't even be born for another 5 years. But that's just the way he thinks. Of course everything is always all about him, because there's no one else that's truly real.

Trump's a textbook malignant narcissist. He thinks the entire world centers on him and has no concept of the idea that each of us sees the universe from our own perspective. It's why he lacks all empathy, because he sees us all as 2D NPCs in his universe.

Everybody else can see the branches and patterns, see the "Regional Escalation" domino and the "Strait Closed" domino, followed by "Soaring Oil Prices" and "Inflation" dominos. You could tell him that the "Boots on the Ground" fork leads to "Protracted Ground War," but there's no way to make him see past the first domino because he's dumb as a box of rocks.

I've met some stupid people in my time, but even they could be relied upon to be reasonably informed on some subjects. Even if those subjects were just stuff to do with their job or hobbies. I've nevwr met anyone who is as completely ignorant about everything as Trump regularly appears to be.
