Because you can still apologize on behalf of others. Just because you're not guilty yourself doesn't mean you can't pay respect and all that stuff. Just like reparations could still be a thing. Just because the people from back then aren't alive anymore doesn't mean that this didn't have a lasting impact that could/should be rectified to this day. So how was this a joke? When it comes to international politics involving your own partners? When that one guy was deported and he had those tattoos and they were translated into allegedly meaning MS 13 and somebody put the M S 1 3 on the photo with Arial or whatever font it was and Trump legit thought that he had those letters tattooed on his hand... was that a joke too? Because I doubt that. He has the cognitive skills of a fart. So yeah... I'd be curious if he knew when WW2 actually happened.

Because it wasn't "a" war. It was a bunch of different global conflicts bundled together. If you're Chinese/Japanese, you'd probably say the war started in 1931 or 37. Most Europeans would probably say 1939. Americans would say 1939 or the "america f*** ya" answer of 1941. History is a matter of perspective.

The thing about the Pearl Harbor joke is it's unfortunately true. We are the Japanese as World War III is breaking out. Israel are the Nazis. Still waiting to see who our Italy will be.
