...Or Trump's insane, and not even he knows what he's thinking.

There is zero chance he's playing "4d chess" here. He has said in the past that he makes his decisions on the spot, always, without thinking about it. This is why he changes his mind every day, sometimes multiple times a day. And I'm pretty sure he forgets that he already decided something one way before deciding the other way. Edit: I guess I should also say that confusing his own staff is exactly the kind of thing Trump would do, also. Because he's a shit leader.

He's not playing any kind of chess. [He's playing tiddly winks.](https://www.nobleknight.com/P/2148240585/Tiddledy-Winks-and-Five-Other-Games?msclkid=29aedb73ad561eaf836eb2be2aa1fa58&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PerformanceMax-Campaign-Used&utm_term=2332132882597256&utm_content=NK%20PERF%20MAX)

What he's thinking is irrelevant. What we need to know is: what's this administration doing? and who to hell can articulate it?
1
Machiavvelli3060 Apr 1, 2026 +1
No no, it's 5-D chess.

johndoe201401 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Or he invented 16D checkers that only he knows how to play

Oftentimes the simplest answer is the correct answer.

If no one can tell the difference...is there a difference?

It’s like madman theory, but even stupider. Madman theory at least worked on the idea that the people around you knew you were bluffing and were in on the bit. This is just “he’s actually a madman and we’re all fucked because of it.”

It’s called Florida Man theory

What plan? That brain has not pushed out a single plan since 2016! The concept of a plan he boasted about it’s still that, a concept. So what plan exactly can he bring to this war?
1
aradraugfea Apr 1, 2026 +1
His plan since 2021 is to not die in prison and it’s been going fantastically, I’ll have you know.

Ashamed-Land1221 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Don't forget the exponential increase of his and his family of grifters wealth, there was always a plan for that it seems, or at least an ability to adapt on the fly to changing conditions to make more money instead of fix problems.

Me seeing the title: They are really taking this like 'he is actually playing big brain 5D outer space chess and outsmarting everyone' as opposed to the fact that Trump is an idiot who has mush for brains. >Now, Axios reports his plans are unclear even to his own advisers, with one source claiming that “nobody knows in the end what he’s really thinking.” >But some allies, such as Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, have suggested it’s an intentional strategy. >“That's the plan — for you to not have a clue,” he told Axios. >An unnamed Trump administration official also told the outlet: **"This isn't 3D chess — it's 12-dimensional. He contradicts himself regularly, so nobody knows what he's thinking. It's on purpose.”** I was f****** joking and it is serious. Jesus Christ.......

Chess? Cmon this mf'er couldn't even win a game of checkers
1
KimmyT1436 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Trump isn't a genius playing "12 dimensional chess". Trump is literally the pidgeon knocking over the chess pieces, shitting in the middle of the board, and strutting around as if he won the game.

RealGianath Apr 1, 2026 +1
Is he incompetent and in way over his head? Mentally impaired and incapable of performing the duties required of his office? Not making enough money from his corruption to make up for the losses elsewhere by the chaos he's causing? Following instructions from foreign adversaries that wish to cripple America's influence in world affairs? If you guessed the answer was E) All of the above, well done on paying attention!

When the dementia gets so bad that you cannot remember what lies you told yesterday, this is ***always*** the plan.

OkCar7264 Apr 1, 2026 +1
are people still trying to tell themselves this shit is secretly smart? It is as stupid as it looks.

[archive link](https://archive.ph/yuFY8) his staff is claiming he's keeping Iran on their toes, but this sounds more like he's trying to keep his people from bothering him about details and plans. "stop asking me for long term outlines, I'd never do anything so tedious; just be ready for my next random whim" pretty typical for authoritarians, they never like the boring part of being the center of all power.

This isn’t twelve dimensional chess- if you think that you’re cattle. This is cognitive decline. Chances are he doesn’t remember what he just said.

Special_Persimmon_52 Apr 1, 2026 +1
He only knows what he's thinking in the moment. And then that moment is gone and so is that thought. Same bullshit he tried to sell us with his nonsensical babbling. "Word weaving" he called it, as if it was a talent. No. His brain is full of dead spaces.

Flood the zone with shit. Cmon people, it always was this.
1
wurtin Apr 1, 2026 +1
this is why you pay attention to troop locations rather than what he’s saying.
1
sylbug Apr 1, 2026 +1
It’s like ‘the weave’, but an even stupider and more obvious lie.
1
Prize_Proof5332 Apr 1, 2026 +1
at this point does anyone really think that he has a plan?
1
SDGANON Apr 1, 2026 +1
Ah yes, the same thing I told my middle school teacher when my homework was missing: "I left it on the boss, I left it at home, Its at a friends house, I lost it, I swear its in my backpack somewhere let me just sit and search for 30 minutes" No one can know you don't have a plan if you just keep changing the lie as to what/where the plan is. /s

Unfair_Elderberry118 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Or HE really has no idea what he is thinking or we wouldn't be in a war that accomplished nothing beyond the US Military committing war crimes for Israel's benefit and Putin getting top dollar for oil.
1
pacman2081 Apr 1, 2026 +1
There is no plan. There is a reason previous administrations have not gone to war with Iran despite numerous acts of provocation on the part of Iran. Trump was goaded by Israel and some of their supporters in the USA (neocons and some wealthy Jewish Americans) into entering what was a foolish war. Now if he can topple's Iran regime, it would not be too bad. But that won't happen easily.

Canadiangoosedem0n Apr 1, 2026 +1
There's no f****** plan. He has dementia and the cognitive decline is showing. End of story

This suggests that Trump’s inconsistent statements on Iran could be a deliberate tactic to keep everyone guessing.

Sittingonalog1960 Apr 1, 2026 +1
“Contradicts”? You mean he lies
1
hymie0 Apr 1, 2026 +1
That's a much better story than "Trump has dementia and can't remember what happened an hour ago."
