It's because UAE said they would start using Yuan for transactions if the war drains their dollar reserves.

It’s also most likely they probably said to combat US dollar shortage they may need to start liquidating US stocks and bonds and that got the attention of the US in a flash to cajole them to a currency swap instead

The USA is sucessfull because of the dollar and the worlds impression that they are the strongest because they won ww2. Now with iran they showed they are not that capable, and by losing the petro dollar they lose a huge chunk of what makes them the stronges country in the world

US won WW2? In which universe? The Allied forces did, which the US only joined halfway through the war.

I’m sure if the us just stayed out of it the allies would have had it under control and the soviets would have been pretty chill when the whole thing was said and done

They didnt " win " ww2 they joined 2 years after it started . Russia did the heavy lifting in europe smashing the nazis back to germany. Ever wonder why no stars and stripes at the fall of berlin photos ? Because the usa wasnt there it was agreed the russians had fought tooth an nail for thousands of kilometres and wouldnt have it any other way . If anything the usa did win over japan but it is noted that the japanese didnt surrender even after 2 atomic bombs but when the russians attacked Manchuria .

China took lots of casualties against Japan, too much like the USSR v Germany, both fought two front wars and both were basically out of oil by 45

Joined 2 years late and weren't as effective as a smaller Canadian army. On D-Day the Canadians went farther inland than all other allied forces even though they had arguably one of the hardest beaches. The Canadians also liberated the Netherlands. It was the same story in WW1, the US came in late once all the real hard work was already done.

The Russians invaded Manchuria the same time as the 2nd atomic bomb dropped. I think both played a part but let’s not downplay one side here

Man as a Russian this always cracks me up. I mean I'm not a tankie and not a Russia strong West bad drone, but like 30 years after the Red Army archives were made open and people like Glanz writing several books based on them, still doing the US beat nazis bit? Come on.
Lend-lease was extremely important, very appreciated, and many say the war would've been lost without it (especially the explosives). Nothing but deep appreciation for the sacrifice of the people running the convoys and doing the work on the home front in US. But the nazis were beat squarely on the eastern front by the summer of 1944. Have D-day not happened, Bagration would probably be a less resounding victory, but it would probably still be a victory. The war might not have ended in May 1945, but it would have ended in Berlin still, some later date. By 1944 Red Army was an extremely experienced force, which has more than rebounded from the decimation done by Stalin's purges.
IMHO D-day was as much a (successful) attempt at preventing Stalin overtaking all of the Europe as it was a "kill bad man in Berlin" effort.

Basically usa got the title most sucessful and strongest country in the world because they used atomic bombs on japan (other countries didnt have them) and because of the petro dollar
But the usa is also just a country earth run by humans. Other countries now also have buclear bombs and a good economy. The USA is nothing special anymore, this „USA is the most capable!country“ is only a obsolete image of the past

No we literally won both world wars, we came away with without any infrastructure damage and especially after WW2 we were the only nation that could keep up the war time industrial boom to send supplies to rebuild Europe. We clearly came out the biggest winners because we didn't take the most damage in fighting.

USSR won the war, the US definitely won the peace however. Every major belligerent other than the US, and to a lesser degree, the USSR had their international power almost totally broken. The UK and France kept a little bit with their overseas imperial territories but the writing was on the wall for both. Germany existed in 4, then 2 pieces, neither of which possessed real global power for a long time. Japanese reconstruction went extremely well and so did South Korean reconstruction after some big hiccups, though those really didn't flourish until the 1970s and 1980s respectively.
The US, however, enjoyed essentially a 70 year golden age that seems to be winding down now

I'm not an economist so I might be misunderstanding something but would China even want that? Obviously it weakens the US' influence globally, but don't they purposefully devalue the RMB to protect their export economy? And wouldn't more nations using RMB to trade oil, more closely tie its value to that of oil and thus be harder to artificially deflate? Or has China reached a point where they believe domestic demand, and solidyfing a petroyuan is enough to offset a weakening of exports?

UAE is protecting its gold. They aren’t interested in bailing out the LBMA like Argentina or Turkey. Especially when the US has become a coercive reserve issuer and people are waking up to the fact that claims grossly outweigh clearance capacity. As preferences shift toward settlement rather than refinancing imbalance, frontrunning the reduction of liability exposure via assets without corresponding liabilities becomes the strategic play.
You don’t have to outrun the bear when a scramble is starting. But you still don’t want the bear to catch you and eat you either. Printing money for a currency swap protects their conserved clearing reserves when global movement and repricing of the premier clearance asset is signaling upcoming credit contraction or central bank intervention.

I only partially understand what you are saying. You mean UAE wants physical gold, instead of selling gold for dollar, they are printing dirham to swap for dollar? (But Dirham pegs dollar, how will this benefit UAE?).
And what do you mean "outrun bear" and "caught by bear"? And why this signals up coming credit contraction and central bank intervention?

Forgive the ignorance, but wouldnt this, especially now, further weaken the USD? I know they want the USD to remain the default currency, which the Yuan is threatening, kinda, but this really doesn't get them anything else? Especially doesnt help US citizens......$$ for anyone BUT them it seems

Competitiveness of industrial base abroad . Normally when a country currency appreciates the industry suffers, less people need that currency ( because they no longer buy expensive items denominated in that currency ) and currency depreciates naturally followed by again increase in industry capability and exports ( cause now the shit you produce is c**** ) .
But it doesn't work for United States because dollar is the reserve currency, so people need dollar not to purchase from US but to actually purchase from anywhere abroad . This causes dollar to appreciate in value decimating US industry and exports . This is why in 1980s for example US kinda forced it's allies into Plaza Accord, a purposeful depreciation of dollar.
