It should bother every American how much Trump idolizes and looks to Putin for approval.

I absolutely cannot understand how any conservatives can look at Trump and think of him as a strong leader. He yells a lot with everyone just ignoring him more and more, walks back on threats, and bends over for actual adversaries. Ridiculously pathetic. Allies stop respecting the US for being aggressive, enemies stop respecting the US for being weak.

It does. The catch is is that a lot of Americans just aren't told about. Because they have selective deafness and/or have ended up in a weird cloister.

Anecdotal: every Canadian I have met, that openly supports Trump, also openly idolizes Putin.
To me, it’s clear as day Trump is Putins little spoon. He has him compromised so hard, Trump would wear a dress if he told him to.

I think there is a very clear divide among Americans on these issues.

Yeah, let's do.
Bring him over here. It could help heal the world. There might even be a peace prize in there somewhere, for someone powerful who makes it happen, wink, wink...
Putin must answer for his crimes. The sooner the better. I'd love to welcome him there!

I like to not get bombed by russia if its all the same to you, as thats an insane likely outcome.
-1
ShakyLion1 day ago
+2
I sympathize with your statement, but I disagree on the likelihood of that happening.
Based on the current state of affairs, if Putin were to be arrested today and arrive in The Hague tomorrow, Russia would be relieved. It would give them an out of the current f*** up. And if they don't think that way, it is unlikely they would bomb the very city he is in.
Rather, let's say that in the miraculously small chance that some crazed Ukranian spec ops team manages to capture Putin and deliver him to the ICC. I would estimate a much higher chance for the US to invade and abduct him, than Russia to bomb The Hague.
From multiple standpoints, you might actually be safer in The Hague while Putin is there, than any other city in The Netherlands.
2
deathzor421 day ago
+1
I mean i consider the odds of russia instantly declaring war on the Netherlands after the refusal to return him at 95% like bombing or drone attacks are VERY likely to follow.
But Russia will bomb some other city is not exactly a selling point, the biggest problem I have with is that in the real world russia could do drone strikes on, the Netherlands without much conquence, like getting the concensus for a article 5 claim over what is gonna be like a 100 deads seems unlikely, and it's not like the Netherlands has a functional military to do anything ourselves.
So realistically for Russia hitting at minimal some places with drones is basically risk free.

When trumps businesses were constantly going bankrupt he was blacklisted by US banks. He took a job hosting ‘The Apprentice’ because he had no other income.
Then he managed to get Russian banks to fund his businesses. They funnelled him money, he gave them a way to buy US property bypassing sanctions and taxes.
So he’s grateful to Russia for saving his fortune. He’s corrupt, they are corrupt, he’s naturally drawn to them. He thinks they helped gain him the presidency, by hacking then altering and releasing data on Clinton, which did swing the vote in his favour.
If you were a morally bankrupt pedophile and found a friend who’d give you millions of dollars, you’d like them too. It’s the reason he was fond of Epstein, Putin is the same but happens to be in politics too.

I want to also add for you a possible cultural perspective that I’m perceiving as someone from the U.S. Maybe people who understand more can help, but here is what I think.
There are Americans who tend to like celebrity, and maybe some of the fame, wealth, and power that comes with it. Brand recognition is a big deal here. The latter I don’t think is inherently bad, but maybe people take it too far.
Trump was a celebrity on a tv show and before that maybe had developed his brand and name recognition. Some of his influence probably derives from that.
So here’s Putin, who maybe developed his brand and a brand for his nation. He has celebrity, power, and may be seen as a strong figure. And I think Trump can be obsessed with “weak” and “strong,” to everyone’s detriment. Add the celebrity that there are people who admire, and maybe it’s a storm of fatal attraction.
I don’t know if you’re religious, but I’m religious, and this prospect of potential worship of celebrity, fame, power, and fortune greatly disturbs me. Not in a condemnation way, but from a perspective of how it can potentially do bad in the world and to people.
