And before the war there were 20-30 oil tankers per day passing through. So if this was 10 ships one single time, that does nothing.

Trump is desperate to make something stick in Media that makes him not look weak or bad in the public space. But there is no easy way out for him and he can’t really lie his way out either, atleast not in a believable way.

He's worried about oil prices and this is a small relief to oil prices. It's hard to call it "a win" but when you're bleeding to death you'll take some bandaids to slow it down. Of course, Iran probably did this for those countries and not the US but Trump as usual is spinning it as something he got done.

And iirc they’re paying for the oil in Yuan. So the petrodollar is under threat, something Iran has been instrumental in chasing for ages. Which I’ve read some analysis claim is a possible reason for him starting this war in the first place. If all this is true it’s one of the biggest geopolitical blunders in quite some time.

Ships with Iranian oil that is no longer sanctioned got through. Which was what was happening before this "present." Well, for a little while. The oil has only been santion-free for a short period.

Plenty are getting through. They’re paying a toll to Iran or are a favored nation. It’s only boats perceived to be in coordination with the USA and host nations/partial colonies that are targeted AFAIK
