What is the agreement exactly? There are several reports claiming different points of peace plan and whose points have been considered and agreed upon ?

my_juicy_nose Apr 10, 2026 +255
They should really write these things down.
255
worldDev Apr 10, 2026 +106
It’s written down in the form of hundreds of contradictory tweets. Is that not good enough?
106
MaybeTheDoctor Apr 10, 2026 +34
Is this a pick-you-own-reality quest?

Ikrit122 Apr 10, 2026 +15
I mean, that's clearly Trump's everyday life

No, it’s the metaverse where any version becomes true apart from reality.

The Trumpian paradox. By contradicting his own statements he can take credit for either statement and be responsible for neither.

With all the reports going on, I'm starting to strongly suspect that as the clock was ticking down, they mediation team more or less panicked that they were gonna run out of time, handed both sides whatever they wanted to hear, just to kick the can down the road. I mean, probably not nearly that "submit homework at 11:59" level of comical but still, be it translation blurriness or verbal massages to each side that weren't technically what the other side actually agreed to. Which is why nothing is officially released, because then each side could see that their verbal agreements weren't the actual ones. A strategy to more or less gaslight people into peace by stalling the war long enough it's to difficult to restart when the agreement is not what was agreed to.
20
HK-53 Apr 10, 2026 +4
Not difficult to restart if they never stop…
4
Niftydog1163 Apr 10, 2026 +6
I relate to that submit homework by 11:59pm so hard. Doubt the orange fool even knows how to spell homework.
6
Masrim Apr 10, 2026 +56
But what do you write down? The things Iran has said in the meetings, or the things Trump has discussed with himself in the mirror and agreed on for all parties?
56
notnotbrowsing Apr 10, 2026 +34
My conspiracy theory is this: Irans bullet points are closer to the truth than trump.  Trump purposely doesn't post anything useful, and when the backlash comes with how stupid trump is for agreeing to Irans list, he goes on his tirade about how it's all fake news.  Rinse and repeat until the public fatigues on it, or they don't call him a sucker for agreeing to it.
34
MaybeTheDoctor Apr 10, 2026 +9
Doesn’t sounds like “conspiracy” to me
9
emelbee923 Apr 10, 2026 +19
The '10 point plan' Iran brought to the table does nothing to benefit the US or Trump. * A guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again * A permanent end to the war, not just a ceasefire * An end to Israeli strikes in Lebanon and against Iranian allies * The lifting of all US sanctions on Iran * Iran agreeing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz * Introduction of a $2 million fee per ship transiting Hormuz * Revenue from shipping fees to be shared with Oman * Funds to be used for reconstruction of war-damaged infrastructure * Establishment of safe passage protocols through Hormuz * A broader framework to end regional hostilities Iran called his bluff and he spun it to his followers like a victory. Notably, Israel has already refused to end their campaign against Lebanon. And there's never been a discussion of the US running the Strait or revenue sharing the way Trump said.
19
SqueekyDickFartz Apr 10, 2026 +9
I think trump will "allow" Iran to have the revenue from the strait as long as Iran agrees to various things like not enriching Uranium or whatever. His supporters won't care that this is the same basic idea as the deal he ripped up. Liberals will be incredulous, MAGA will insist it's perfect in every way.
9
emelbee923 Apr 10, 2026 +6
Yeah, I had the same thought, that the end result would just be the JCPOA that Trump derided and withdrew the US from. But because MAGA doesn't know what the 'Iran nuclear deal' actually entailed, they will heap praise upon their god-king.
6
Tuesday_6PM Apr 10, 2026 +2
To be clear, Iran collecting revenue from the straight is a significantly better deal for Iran than the deal under Obama. That’s a huge source of revenue they previously haven’t had. Not that I disagree that the “plan” is likely to wait until MAGA gets bored and lie about the situation anyway
2
deafpoet Apr 10, 2026 +6
The $2M fee is hilarious. "Guys, we could have been charging this the whole time, and they'd *never* let us do it without a fight. He's just... giving us the perfect excuse to start?"
6
resisting_a_rest Apr 10, 2026 +7
Exactly. They didn’t do it before because of fear or reprisals. Trump pushed the issue and now they know there will be no reprisals. I wonder if they bought Trumps cryptocurrency to get this deal. No, probably just Trump admin incompetence. We will never know.
7
fretkat Apr 11, 2026 +3

All I can do is a truth social post, but you have to pick which one.
2
SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING Apr 10, 2026 +9
The crown jewel of US foreign policy was State Department with career professionals which handled these things behind the scenes without making noise. Musk got rid of them all. Now it’s tweet diplomacy.
9
Alive_kiwi_7001 Apr 10, 2026 +5
Iran sent Rubio a pair of correctly sized shoes. After easing his blistered feet into them he rushed to tell Trump how Iran accepted all his demands and it was time to call off the bombers.
5
Why-did-i-reas-this Apr 10, 2026 +3
Why? So trump can eat the paper it’s written on?
3
sharies Apr 10, 2026 +3
It's not like you can trust Trump even if it's in writing. Hell he even will sneak attack you while at the negotiation table.
3
rabidstoat Apr 10, 2026 +3
We just document important diplomatic agreements in tweets these days. Thank goodness we don't still have the 140 character limits on our formal documents.
3
glorious_reptile Apr 10, 2026 +2
Not really. The only thing that benefited both parties was to stop shooting - the details were left purposefully vague. That’s my interpretation anyways.
2
totalwarwiser Apr 10, 2026 +2
Why? Its not like there are literaly billions of people hurt by this situation. This whole situation feels like where people want to keep playing but they dont invite the big player to go on.
2
Caboozel Apr 10, 2026 +39
Maybe this is why we don’t do governance through f****** social media lmao.
39
ACMomani Apr 10, 2026 +11
Welcome to Trump time where policies and war are announced via tweet and war documents are circulating through social media.
11
SqueekyDickFartz Apr 10, 2026 +6
Not even real tweets, it's diary rants on temu twitter.
6
pm_me_beerz Apr 10, 2026 +2
ITS ON TRUTH SOCIAL YOU CRAZY BASTARDS /trump
2
RheagarTargaryen Apr 10, 2026 +7
There is no agreement. He just needed the fog of an agreement to back down from his “end civilization” threat. They basically made a fake agreement (every side claiming they got what they want) to convince everyone he let diplomacy prevail. The reality is the war is going to kick back off soon but there’s not going to be some doomsday clock on mass murders.
7
Leody Apr 10, 2026 +15
He has a concept of a peace agreement.

Thats a nice way of saying there is nothing. Even if someone has a file called peace-plan.docx on their desktop it means nothing because they don't agree on anything. Both sides wants to save face earlier in the week and now we are here.
4
foghillgal Apr 10, 2026 +10
When you screw diplomacy in the ass like Trump has done and install grade A dumbasses instead you get what you got.
10
Quintronaquar Apr 10, 2026 +8
9 times out of 10 if the source is Trump then it's 100% bullshit
8
thewolfshead Apr 10, 2026 +3
Of all people to say someone else isn’t honouring an agreement, Trump is the worst offender of that.
3
IntelArtiGen Apr 10, 2026 +2
They don't want to share it publicly AFAIK, so nobody really knows.
2
TheSleepyTruth Apr 10, 2026 +2
Nothing in the peace plan has been agreed upon, that is whats being negotiated. What has been agreed upon was a total cease fire with opening of the Strait while negotiations take place. Iran still hasnt opened the Strait and Israel still hasn't stopped attacks in Lebanon so... not looking great.
2
UnionGuyCanada Apr 10, 2026 +2
Did he not have a Sharpie handy when he made this deal?    Just a literal moron flying by the seat of his pants, running from fire to fire woth a can of gasoline, all so he doesnface consequences from being a lifelong rapist pedophile.
2
Gavangus Apr 10, 2026 +4
According to the administration the ones shared publicly by some iranian sources (that the msm is running with) are not the actual ones
4
NoSwordfish6949 Apr 10, 2026 +18
The "administration" is the most unreliable source for facts. edit: spelling
18
lastpassonright Apr 10, 2026 +5
So trump tweeted the wrong thing?
5
IntelArtiGen Apr 10, 2026 +5
Only Pakistan knows and I haven't seen them share the 10 points. TBH it's "very unrealistic" (to say the least) that the US considers the 10 iranian points to be a "basis of negotiations".
5
ACMomani Apr 10, 2026 +8
Pakistan said Lebanon are included in the ceasefire, Israel said no they aren't and Trump immediately followed.
8
Royal-Hunter3892 Apr 10, 2026 +3
They claimed Lebanon is included in the ceasefire deal but US rejected these claim and said lebanon is not part of the deal . It's not only disagreement and confusion between Iran and US but it is also disagreement even between the Pakistan and US .
3
IntelArtiGen Apr 10, 2026 +2
For what I got, they (Iran/the US/Pakistan) all agreed it should be included. But they didn't contact Israel before, and Israel refused after Trump called them. I haven't found a good source on this, but it seems plausible. In this case, Trump lied when he said Lebanon wasn't included, but Pakistan shouldn't have declared the ceasefire without making sure they all agreed to it, including Israel. You can't just say "they all agree to not fight" without making sure they all agree to not fight.
2
Royal-Hunter3892 Apr 10, 2026 +2
Not including Israel which is a primary player of this conflict is a stupid thing Or it might be a deliberate goof up , to put pressure on Iran on the last moment to make them accept it or get accused of breaking the ceasefire.
2
Jkabaseball Apr 10, 2026 +1
Everyone agreed to a peace plan. They just all agreed to different ones.
1
Halcyon520 Apr 10, 2026 +225
Only Trump, and I mean that really only Trump could bomb the hell out of a country and in less than a month end up with a worse deal than doing nothing. What an absolute joke
225
hatmatter Apr 10, 2026 +110
His whole Presidency is like that. If he just went golfing for four years and just let things run on autopilot, the US would be in a much better position than it is now. Tourism would still be thriving, no tariff nonsense..
110
theinternetisnice Apr 10, 2026 +25
I admit there was a part of me that assumed that’s what he would do the first time around. I figured he would quietly do some illegal shit that would be financially beneficial to his businesses, give some speeches talking about how great he was but really do nothing. So I was pretty wrong.
25
Fatesadvent Apr 10, 2026 +13
I was surprised to hear tourism as a whole is only down 5% though. Canada alone dropped some 30 to 40%. Rest of the world slacking
13
Halinn Apr 10, 2026 +3
Not just presidency, he'd also be a better businessman if he just invested the money he inherited in index linked funds
3
smurfsundermybed Apr 10, 2026 +25
It's the story of his life. Both he and the rest of us would have been so much better off if he did anything other than what he did at every moment of his life.
25
CelerMortis Apr 10, 2026 +4
The key difference is that he finds ways to fail upwards in his private life because the principal of “look like a w***** at all costs” actually seems to work kind of well as a private citizen. It’s not really playing out that way for his presidency, other than the fact that he got re-elected somehow
4
SatanicPanic619 Apr 10, 2026 +3
Hey maybe he can bomb again and get an even worse deal
3
Kaffe-Mumriken Apr 10, 2026 +39
It is tremendously stupid not to have a transparent agreement to show the world exactly what each side is holding the other to at this point. MINDBLOWINGLY stupid
39
Calculonx Apr 10, 2026 +2
I'm sure someone has carefully compiled all of the tweets
2
Big_Introduction1952 Apr 10, 2026 +119
It’s the Middle East special. Each party agrees only to their own terms, calls it peace, and resumes business as usual.
119
IntelArtiGen Apr 10, 2026 +13
Currently it's the most likely outcome I'd say. No one agrees on anything, and the current situation continues. Though I wouldn't say it's "business as usual" if the strait remains closed / semi-open. I don't even know how they want to "negotiate" all these issues. Iran and the US haven't changed their positions and I don't see how or why they would change it: on nuclear materials, on missiles, on proxies, on sanctions etc.
13
my_juicy_nose Apr 10, 2026 +6
The most likely scenario is trump declares victory because he’s the best president ever and so strong unlike Obama who was so weak, then he goes home.
6
IntelArtiGen Apr 10, 2026 +2
They were all going to declare victory anyway, it was obvious from Day 1. AFAIK they both suffered casualties and lost billions in material damage so I'm not going to call that a victory for either side.
2
ghkilla805 Apr 10, 2026 +5
If Iran ends up being able to charge tolls for the Strait, and keep their nuclear enrichment, then it would be a pretty definitive win I would think. But that all depends how the negotiations go since those should be a red line for the US
5
Likeapuma24 Apr 10, 2026 +2
I agree. But if all that remains of Iran is piles of rubble, then it's a bit less glamorous of a win.
2
One-Engineering-4505 Apr 10, 2026 +6
It's not even each party, the us has three different high ups all giving different objectives for why the war happened, what they want out of it, and what it would take to end it.
6
Slight_Ad8871 Apr 10, 2026 +20
He’s just now learning there was never an agreement
20
M3RC3N4RY89 Apr 10, 2026 +18
This “ceasefire” has been based on a fairytale nonexistent agreement since it was announced… it’s all market manipulation with him and for every threat he’s made, Iran just keeps calling his bluff and driving him into increasingly outlandish claims that he’s somehow winning this.
18

15
Zolo49 Apr 10, 2026 +2
Which is weird because you’d think you could fit a lot of cards in a taco. (But seriously, I REALLY hate all the TACO taunts. Trump “chickening out” has almost always been the best option when one of these situations comes up and I really don’t get people basically trying to taunt him into doing something objectively worse for everyone. Is anybody not happy that he “chickened out” and didn’t nuke Iran? I know it was a bluff, but the point is still the same.)
2
Lolligagers Apr 10, 2026 +27
That's because the agreement only really existed in his own twisted mind.
27
SanchoPandas Apr 10, 2026 +3
It was more the concept of an agreement.
3
Pale_Leek2994 Apr 10, 2026 +8
If the US were led by serious people and actually honoured the agreements they already had none of this would be happening.
8

You mean the concept of an agreement? Just more geopolitical amateur hour by this galactically unqualified administration.
8
Jonesy2700 Apr 10, 2026 +12
Ah. See, you specifically need _multiple_ parties to agree to the agreement to _have_ have an agreement, no?

Gotta tank the market so you can buy low and sell high on Monday when another ceasefire is announced that will last until next Friday F****** cunts

By this point I'm certain that Trump doesn't even know what is and isn't in the agreement

4
Visible_Handle_3770 Apr 10, 2026 +3
Well yeah, this is what happens when the 'agreement' seems to mostly be an informal understanding based on social media posts. And a straightforward reading of Trump's original post would suggest Iran's handling is exactly the agreement since Trump said the 10 point plan Iran presented including their control over the Strait was workable.

I feel like they just yadi-yadi-yadda the whole agreement. You know for sure Trump is not one to look into things in detail. Probably had someone come up with a 2 minute reel for him to ingest the agreement, and it skipped out things like, I don't know, explaining to Israel the agreement details.
1
SlowCrates Apr 10, 2026 +1
Trump, you need to learn to read the agreement before you announce that there is one *you incomprehensibly dumb m************.
1

News coverage keeps calling it a "tenuous ceasefire" meanwhile everyone is still bombing each other and the strait is closed.

Trump wants free and open strait. Iran said they are still charging but will allow any country to pass with a toll fee. So deal is volatile and it might end this weekend

Noselessmonk Apr 10, 2026 +1
Not in writing? Wouldn't be surprised - back room handshake deals seem on par for Trump. He's just used to being the one who backs out of honoring the deal first.

Iran is going to keep f****** with him until November. We'll see double digit prices on gas by then. Trump entered into a siege without realizing that his enemy can outlast him. He was convinced by advisors with money to make that this would be a quick in and out adventure.

Has he considered bringing it up with the rogue nation he keeps giving billions of dollars, who immediately ruined any agreement on the very first day?
