My wife's 5-year-old niece explaining the solar system to us started with "I might be right or I might be wrong..."
Twenty years later, we still quote her when we are not sure.

>"They said, to show you the fact that we're real and solid and we're there, we're going to let you have eight boats of oil, eight boats, eight big boats of oil," Trump said. "I guess they were right, and they were real, and I think they were Pakistani-flagged... It ended up being 10 boats."
So they flexed on him, made an imperious gesture of allowing friendly traffic through the strait as a demonstration of the fact that they are in control, and he didn't get it. And now the President of United States is out there tacitly acquiescing to the status quo of Iran controlling traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

There's no reason to believe otherwise, and there's every reason to doubt what we're being told by US-Israeli media.
Anyone with half a brain and access to images, videos and first hand sources from the Middle East that are not being heavily censored can clearly see the Iranians have a well coordinated and organized strategic response.

$2 million per tanker was the last bill I saw. A VLCC supertanker is about 2 million barrels, while the smaller tankers are more like 1 million barrels or half a million barrels. So a "tax rate" of 1% to 4%.
The war has pushed oil prices up by about 40%, by comparison.
I expect, given the US' failure to exercise control over the Strait, that most of the rest of the planet would be willing to pay off Iran rather than suffer through the oil shock. That might be the only route to de-escalation at this point - everyone pays tolls to Iran, Iran lets tanker traffic resume, the US declares that's an American victory and leaves.
Trump's stupid enough to think that's an actual victory. But Netanyahu wants the war to continue to keep himself out of jail, and MbS would much rather spend billions of American dollars and as many American lives as are available to spend trying to subdue Iran than have them take a 1% cut on oil revenues. And Hegseth wants to keep the war going long enough to make Jesus come back. So I don't think the planet's getting out of this f*** up soon.

So, let me get this straight...
Iran shuts down the Straight of Hormuz - the straight that carries about 20% of the world's oil and about 60 tankers a day. Oil prices skyrocket, causing a global supply chain and cost crisis.
Trump then starts bragging about Iran giving us a very big gift worth a lot of money. We find out today it was Iran ***allowing*** 6 (edit: 10 - not sure why my brain told my fingies to write 6) ships through the straight.
So Trump is now tacitly acknowledging that Iran owns the straight. He's also bragging about **six** (edit: negotiated 8 but allowed 10 - my error!) ships getting through when, because of **his** decision, we haven't had roughly 1,500 get through to transport oil that otherwise would have.
A brilliant strategic mind.

Yeah it's not *really* a present but it's what our fearless leader is calling it. They allowed 10 **Pakistani** oil ships through as a gesture of "we can potentially negotiate", which was one of the requests from the US' 15-point proposal.
It still doesn't really mean anything back home yet because they were pakistani ships. I'll believe Iran might be ready to start talking when they let US ships through. Otherwise, we can just keep going through leadership.

To put this into perspective, before the war 130-150 tankers would travel through the strait of hormuz…
I mean, 10 is more than zero, but this certainly is not a win and other reporting is saying 30-40% of the oil infrastructure is damaged or destroyed in the region and will require years and billions of dollars to get back to previous production levels.
Trump just breaks shit so he can fix it and claim victory, but also in a way where everyone is worse off. This time, he broke something he can’t fix and no amount of “strength” or bombs will fix it. Good thing he’s surrounded by the brightest people to get the world out of this catastrophe

Why hasn't somebody called for the men in white coats to come, wrap him up in a strait jacket and cart him off the asylum?

In other words, he was lying again then had to scramble to find something to frame as a victory. Iran letting a few non-western ships through was all he could come up with.

Used to be that joke about how you knew if TACO Trump was lying, he opened his mouth.
Well it's not a joke anymore, that idiot lies EVERY time he opens his mouth! How the f*** can his supporters not see what is happening, it makes me believe that they are even more stupid than that pedo is.

You know what would have been better? Not bombing the f*** outta them for no reason and being allowed as many ships as you wanted to go through.

How fast he went from bombastic tough guy to a sniveling beggar boasting about getting Iranian scraps. If he and Kegsbreath had their act together, they would have planned for the Straight situation and wouldn’t have let it happen to begin with! But Trump ignores intel and thinks he knows everything.
The dumbest guy to ever occupy the White House starts a war with a country every president before passed on. This is worst case scenario- Trump, of all god forsaken people starts a war.
