At most Israel says they'll be there and send a bomb instead.

I do not really see what Israel stands to gain from it, and thus why there would be an actual agreement. Israel's concern is having a guarantee that Hezbollah will not be able to threaten and bomb Israel anymore. But the Lebanese government simply lacks the ability to disarm and dismantle Hezbollah, or at least it was too scared to even try, so it cannot really offer anything to Israel that would justify a peace. Lebanon has basically lost its sovereignty so it is a bit hard to have serious negotiations with it expecting Lebanon to give anything worthwhile.

Israel's been winning the physical war but loosing the diplomatic war.
An actual peace treaty with a neighbour that until now has never recognised it would be a big gain. And it would knock the legs out from the standard narrative in the West that "you can't fight terrorists, you'll only make them even more radical" by saying that ignoring the threat of Hezbollah didn't lead to peace with Lebanon. But fighting them did.
The catch is that as good as all that is. If its a choice between that and not having an army on their borders just waiting to kill them, not having the army is even better. So either Israel is confident that without Iran Hezbollah is not a serious threat, has/thinks it has a way to have its cake and eat it, or I can't see this happening.
[edit:] A third possibility is that Trump wants out of Iran really badly, needs Israel to stop, and can offer them a peace deal as an off ramp. Or go further and strongarm Israel into stopping for just a ceasefire. I'm not convinced Trump's as desperate for an exit as people think. I suspect Trump really does think he can scare Iran into a deal. The blockade shows he's not willing to open the Strait at any price, and he got a better deal from Hamas than Israel imagined was possible. All living and dead hostages without IDF withdrawal.

National sheriffs are destroying democracy. Maybe we should co-design a new global democracy - UN 2.0, which is well beyond national particular interests. With Direct democracy and no veto power.
