Due to his increasing dementia, he is unable to conceive of a timeframe beyond 2 weeks.

"There is no future. There is no past. Do you see? Time is simultaneous, an intricately structured jewel that humans insist on viewing one edge at a time, when the whole design is visible in every facet."

Near the end of my Mom's life as she was battling cancer, her mind started to become cloudier due to her condition. The brainfog was caused by a secondary infection. At that point, she wasn't able to tell me what day it was. Usually repeated a later date, even after I had told her the day 5 minutes before and multiple times through the day. Ultimately, the end was near and the battle was lost in a couple weeks after the behaviour was noticed. (Tried to intervene but conditions didn't improve after the infection was supposedly treated.)
My point is that allot of the President's mannerisms and confusion remind me of how my parents were near the end of their lives (both), minus the rotten character and preference for violence our President has shown. We're collectively in a terrible situation with DJT occupying the office of the president...

When the war started, I remember him saying it would take 2–3 weeks. That was a month ago. I don’t trust anything Trump says anymore and never had.

He lies as he breathes, but “two weeks” is the tell that he’s spouting an especially obvious brand of bullshit.

It’s like the Tom Hanks movie “The Money Pit”. The construction crew always tells him it’ll be finished in two weeks and then two weeks later, they repeat until he kills them all with a f****** flamethrower.

It could, but it also could not. Depends on whether the Iranians roll over or not.

The healthcare bill that was going to fix everything and be so easy and so c**** to replace the Afforable Care Act— still just two weeks away!
God I hate these people.
And most mainstream media still pretending he’s a serious person.

Trump says he won the war in the “first hour” on the “first day.” A few days later, he says: “we are winning the war by a lot,” while simultaneously saying we need to “finish the job.”
He then asks his allies for help to win the war, only to retract (after being rejected) and say it’s too late for them to “join wars after we’ve already won.”
All of this to destroy a nuclear program he claims he already destroyed last year... Go figure.

OMG he solved Ukraine war in 1 day. If you recalculate his understanding of a the trump day then this war will take for a generation.

That's his new strategy. He figures that if he keeps periodically sneaking an extra two weeks into 2026, people won't notice and he can extend his term (and the war in Iran) indefinitely. There's pros & cons to the leader of your country having dementia. Mostly cons to date, unfortunately.

Coincidentally the same time frame as the typical news cycle.
Also an enormous strategic blunder as all Iran has to do is wait out 2 weeks. That gives them all the leverage.

2 weeks is 6 market swings. I can’t believe the markets still react to what he says because he is fully unreliable.

The way he constantly goes on about how whatever he’s talking about has never been seen before, nobody has ever seen anything like it. He has to repeat/restate everything two or three times, adding more superlatives each go round to be sure you’re buying the bullshit. Guy is gone.

The same two weeks away as his big beautiful, very affordable healthcare plan that we’ve been promised for the last 11 years.

Well we know it’s not going to be after his ACA replacement, he made it clear the US has no money to fight a war with Iran and provide health care to Americans
