“In 2-3 weeks” meaning he has no idea what he is doing and just spewing verbal diarrhea.

3 weeks means it's after Ukraine is solved, healthcare, and infrastructure

This isn’t true. Please say it isn’t

andyraylan Apr 2, 2026 +19
It certainly could have been, and I think his posts come across more energized than this speech, which is kind of crazy. He seemed disinterested and almost annoyed that he had to do this speech.

He's reportedly bored of this war and wants to move on to Cuba and his ballroom.

"In two weeks this will be the BEST ballroom any president has ever had, let me tell you. Sleepy Joe never even {strange guttural glitching sound} ... can you imagine that?"

Pushing out the deadline while claiming to have completed the project, this should have been a PIP

Should've been terminated for putting out an ambitious project with an ambiguous deadline.

51
SilveryDeath Apr 2, 2026 +19
>Pushing out the deadline To be fair, that isn't a new deadline. Trump did say it would be [two to three more weeks yesterday](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/31/trump-iran-war.html), which echoed [Rubio saying the same thing on the 27th.](https://www.axios.com/2026/03/27/iran-war-timeline-rubio-2-4-weeks) Issue is I don't think anyone believes that he will actual stick to that since he could very easily change his mind in that time or something could 'happen' that could make him change his mind. Also, the fact that if he does stick to the 2-3 weeks deadline and leaves that the he is expecting some combo of Europe/Gulf States/Asia to come in and deal with the strait issue he left behind. Shit, he said earlier today South Korea, China, and Japan should go reopen it.
19
BadmiralHarryKim Apr 2, 2026 +92
He's going to waddle out of the bathroom and hand his allies a plunger, "You should really do something about that."
92
Several-Opposite-746 Apr 2, 2026 +19
After that, he'll rage that they made a bad horrible deal, the worst deal ever.
19
tMoneyMoney Apr 2, 2026 +7
Maybe, but he’ll definitely say we would’ve won if NATO didn’t back out of the war (they never signed up for or ever agreed was worth fighting).
7
FlametopFred Apr 2, 2026 +4
so tired of his whining one-note bully rhetoric
4
idryss_m Apr 2, 2026 +8
It's the infamous "2 weeks". Healthcare at the same time?
8
seeking_hope Apr 2, 2026 +7
He said as much tonight. “Go to the straight and just take it, protect it, use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated. The hard part is done, so it should be easy.”
7
SilveryDeath Apr 2, 2026 +13
He also said it will “open up naturally” once the war is over. So which is it in his addled mind? That other countries are going to naturally going in and take it from Iran (despite not wanting to get involved at all over the last 5 weeks) or that it will naturally open like it was pre-war once there aren't drones and missiles and mines everywhere. Honestly, Iran could easily counter this by just saying something like when the war is over the strait will be open like normal, but the US, Israel, and their Gulf allies will have to pay the toll to use it. I don't think anyone else (Europe, East Asia) would care enough beyond some lip-service protest.
13
TsukariYoshi Apr 2, 2026 +12
"Which is it?" The answer to that is "whichever one makes you stop yelling at me because this was harder than I thought and I'm bored now."
12
seeking_hope Apr 2, 2026 +8
He said we don’t use it anyway sooooo 🤷‍♀️ Ugh.
8
tMoneyMoney Apr 2, 2026 +4
Iran could use all kind of fuckery. They could say the strait is open but we’re going to attack one ship every week and we’re not going to tell you which one it is. Make the whole thing Hormuz R*******.
4
jloverich Apr 2, 2026 +3
He has to go through congress to extend it further. I bet they "leave", but will be back in 6 months if it looks like iran is doing it's thing again. They'll take out the leaders again, and repeat...

Strait isn’t opening back up for a long time We are in for some serious pain
130
Advanced_Section891 Apr 2, 2026 +197
The strait won't open even if Trump announces the end of operations. Iran are going to insist that sanctions on their oil and gas exports be removed, there is no way they return back to the status quo and allow their economy to be choked. So realistically the strait opens only when there is a complete ceasefire + a deal in place that allows Iran to freely sell its oil and gas resources. And that's the big irony, Iran are going to force Trump and Europe to lift sanctions, what Iran could not do through negotiations they have done through war, a war that was started by Trump. This is right up there as the mother of all strategic defeats and backfire.
197
ignatious__reilly Apr 2, 2026 +87
Trump just destroyed whatever legacy he had left. This will go down as one of the biggest military f*** ups of all time. Trump has zero way out and he knows it. And we will all pay the price for it.
87
MountainMan17 Apr 2, 2026 +105
>Trump just destroyed whatever legacy he had left. The dude never had any positive legacy. Where have you been the last 11 years?

I agree with that. I’ve never voted for Trump, but I’m talking about from his and MAGAs perspective.

50

What I’m saying is, I think even Trump knows he fucked up bad. He won’t say it outloud but I think he knows how bad this really is.
6
kind_bros_hate_nazis Apr 2, 2026 +15
How does that matter though? He won't act differently. There's will still be 35% that utterly support him

12
faffc260 Apr 2, 2026 +8
his only way out is escalation, and the public are against escalation, but the only way he achieves his goals are escalating shit to ground troops and regime change, but the public would crucify him even more if he did that and a whole lot more people would die.
8
ignatious__reilly Apr 2, 2026 +21
If his dementia rotted brain gets worse, he might end up just nuking Iran. I’m literally not ruling that out.
21
faffc260 Apr 2, 2026 +12
wouldn't be surprised either, actually think it's plausible to give russia pretext to use tactical nukes on ukraine....the man is doing everything he can to help russia without actually directly doing so already, why not that insanity too.
12
Momik Apr 2, 2026 +4
At this point, I don’t know if anyone is ruling that out. This might be one of the more dangerous times to be alive.
4
ignatious__reilly Apr 2, 2026 +4
It’s so scary that this is actually a possibility at this point. We have fallen so so far in only 14 months since this maniac got into office. It’s f****** insane.

Self immolation at its finest.
11
Advanced_Section891 Apr 2, 2026 +13
Trump could have kept his maximum sanctions, no oil or gas sales by Iran, their economy was in dire straits (no pun intended). And now instead, through an act of war that he started, they are going to get many of those sanctions removed. He's also made Iran the power brokers of one of the most important bottlenecks on the planet. He's a strategic genius.

few Apr 2, 2026 +498
Here are my notes from the speech (superlatives not included) - I'm great - everything nuclear was destroyed last year - everything nuclear was destroyed again this year - we're watching everything nuclear by satellite - we will bomb if they move around nuclear sites  - the new guys in charge are better - we blew everything up - if we feel like it, we're going to blow everything up (power plants) - we don't need the straight open  - it's super easy to open the straight because we blew everything up - so somebody else should open the straight up - even though we already blew everything up, we're going to blow everything up for another 2-3 weeks This was basically everything that listnook had previously predicted. At least I was able to watch it at 2x instead of live. Now you don't have to. edit: I forgot a major point - it's not a war, but here is a long list of wars this one is shorter than

The Iranian war makes even less sense then Vietnam. And that's saying a lot!
68

Hell, they had a strategic reason and concrete goals for the war in Vietnam. They were dumb and ethically horrific, but someone at least put some thought into it.  This is just... total failure to plan.

I mean, their central thesis was just wrong. Vietnam falling didn't result in communism taking over the world. It's just that no one being colonized loves their overlords... 50 years later, we trade billions of dollars of goods with vietnam. All those lives literally wasted.
27
nick415 Apr 2, 2026 +9
100% agree with you. However, if Vietnam had a central thesis then this clusterfuck is just an AI hallucination of gibberish. They can't even articulate what the point is.
9
tcmart14 Apr 2, 2026 +4
What's even funnier about the central thesis is, right after we left, China tried to invade Vietnam and got it's ass handed to it.
4
wotoan Apr 2, 2026 +4
Vietnam they put the McNamara whiz kids in charge. Resulted in horrific outcomes, managed in a quantitative way. This… is somehow worse. The jocks are in charge, and the outcomes are pathetic.

69
skwerrel Apr 2, 2026 +10
Nah, that's what he's been bleating about all over so he'll actually do the opposite. Marines will be making incursions by next weekend at the latest. When they end up in untenable positions that either threaten or create mass casualty events, it will be used as the pretext for a full invasion. Or at least that's the plan. I don't think they'll get the support they think they will, even if Marines die, most will want the rest home not more sent over. But I think they believe otherwise, and that it will galvanize support. I guess we'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I did watch sadly, He bragged about re-building the military, he bragged about killing iran leadership, he said the dead soldiers parents told him to continue the fight... and most importantly didn't actually commit to invasion nor any real peaceful resolution... it was an April Fool's joke on America... we're the fools...
3

Its so dystopian to read these anodyne headlines about a bonkers, incoherent, lie-infested claptrap of a speech by a sad tired defeated guy who seems like he has one foot in a nursing home for the cognitively challenged.

I’m so f****** confused. We won the first day, we’re hating NATO for not helping us, we’re sending 4 carriers to the area and thousands of troops, they’re negotiating with us but they say we’re not, we’re out in two weeks and it’s up to NATO whom we’re looking at leaving now, to open the strait that was open before we attacked Iran. Maybe I’m just not used to winning so much.

Zealous03 Apr 2, 2026 +5
I really feel like this entire speech was just for his base, everyone with a pulse knows he’s full of shit and a lier.
5
MarkMaulBorn Apr 2, 2026 +5
Trump says, Trump says, Trump says,... Spoiler he is a LIAR!!!! Stop repeating what this treasonous liar says. Its all lies.
5
kuebel33 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Sure he will. More like he’ll lie some more and say it’s done but somehow war will keep going on and prices will still climb

imaloony8 Apr 2, 2026 +4
They interrupted Survivor for this.
4
BothRequirement2826 Apr 2, 2026 +4
It kinda boggles the mind how consistently he manages to contradict his own statements. They don't make any logical sense when strewn together. Not that someone like him has any reason to care in the absence of any consequences.

Takkotah Apr 2, 2026 +3
Bro has said this every day for the past 3 weeks...
3
Cortexan Apr 2, 2026 +5
Finish what job? What was the job? What was the point of any of this?
5
Plus-Visit-764 Apr 2, 2026 +4
Remember guys, this is just a 3 day military operation! I swear I’ve heard this story before….
4
HLV420 Apr 2, 2026 +7
Winning bigger than ever before
7
absolutelynotagoblin Apr 2, 2026 +6
When will arteriosclerosis do its job, I wonder?
6
Illimited_Esoterica Apr 2, 2026 +3
Tell me more about this "finish the job"...
3
Moneyfish121212 Apr 2, 2026 +3
April fools
3
ishtar_the_move Apr 2, 2026 +3
Serious question: Who is going to stop him dropping a nuke on Iran if he couldn't win? Seriously.
3
rsa1 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Nobody. That's the terrifying idea. We've got an insane man who voters decided to hand the most powerful military in human history, four years after they watched him carry out an insurrection because he couldn't handle electoral defeat.
5
hoxwort Apr 2, 2026 +3
Finish the job no one wanted him to start in the first place
3
SatchSaysPlay Apr 2, 2026 +3
This an April fools joke? it will certainly be the first time the USA has ever finished anything, serial losers. Maybe they'll just run away again and tell the rest of the world they are the mightiest country, the mightiest of all time, there's never ever been anyone mightier.
3
_Kaifaz Apr 2, 2026 +3
Oh, i thought you already won on day one?
3
pongmoy Apr 2, 2026 +3
What exactly was the job, sir? Other than the obvious redirection from the Epstein files, of course.
3
Wonderful_Rest3124 Apr 2, 2026 +3
In other words let’s finish up here soon cause I have actually no idea what I’m doing. Bleeding idiot.
3
philthegr81 Apr 2, 2026 +3
As a fellow bullshitter when pressed for details on a project that should be nearing completion, I recognize that we're nowhere near the end of this war. And it'll probably go over budget. And the stakeholders won't like the final product.
3
Wayofchinchilla Apr 2, 2026 +3
So let's count he said we finished the job then he said we'd finish the job a week ago and then last week he said the same thing.
3
WetFishStink Apr 2, 2026 +3
But it's already over. He said it was going to take a few days. Not like him to fail to follow through on his words. The actual headline is "Trump admits letting his Drunken Cokehead War Chief start an illegal war to short the oil markets may have been biting off more than he could chew when he realized the opposition wasn't just armed with sticks like they all thought."
3
Durandau Apr 2, 2026 +3
Wait, I thought the US already won?

hikingidaho Apr 2, 2026 +2
Boot check Time. Mine aren’t down, but I can hear the boots hitting the ground. I'm not quite sure but it seems to be an echo from 4pm ET Good Friday. /s (sorta)
2
Fair-Hair2080 Apr 2, 2026 +2
What was the point of his speech?
2
brianlangauthor Apr 2, 2026 +9
False promises. Same as every other bullshit thing coming out of this lying f****** mouth.

CMG30 Apr 2, 2026 +2
The best thing Trump could have done is just slink away. Pretend he had some great success and let the rest of the world negotiate some sort of transit fee with Iran.
2
NotAnotherEmpire Apr 2, 2026 +2
No ceasefire or actual exit plan announcement, multiple more weeks of conflict (Straits closed). Risking severe Iranian retaliation if the wrong thing gets hit. Plus its like, incoherent slop.
2
JBN2337C Apr 2, 2026 +2
Watched the Brent Crude graph spike 5 min into the speech…
2
KawhiTheKing Apr 2, 2026 +2
Dude can’t do longer than a tweets worth of info live anymore. When does the rest start to follow?
2
Aggressive_Safe2226 Apr 2, 2026 +2
Maybe Iran should give passage to ships bound for countries that have nothing to do with Trump's adventurism, e.g. SE Asian nations.
2
ObviouslyRealPerson Apr 2, 2026 +2
Still no explanation as to why it was even necessary to begin with He doesn't feel the need to justify himself to anyone
2
rsa1 Apr 2, 2026 +2
He's right. Why would he need to explain anything when he's been allowed to violate laws like it's nobody's business?
2
hobabaObama Apr 2, 2026 +2
Entire exercise was distraction from the Epstien files. So in a way this was a successful job.
2
j1ggy Apr 2, 2026 +2
Nobody even knows what the job is. It changes every 3 hours. I don't even think Trump knows.
2
beamish007 Apr 2, 2026 +2
Nothing about Trump leads me to believe that he is a "finisher".
2
DimSumFan Apr 2, 2026 +2
Just another kid playing with matches who ended up burning down the garage.
2
AcesandEightsAA888 Apr 2, 2026 +2
So what new was learned. Nada so why watch
2
FeatureSeparate404 Apr 2, 2026 +2
As a dem. Watching that speech... yeah, let's do it. Avengers Civil War. Rock and roll. /satire
2
SaskyBoi Apr 2, 2026 +2
By finish the job he means mess up the middle eastern oil supply enough that Russia gets to sell oil indefinitely to fund their war machine
2
HunterFeeFee Apr 2, 2026 +2
Finish the job as in retreating in shame, while the civilized world cleans up the mess.
2
AjEdisMindTrick Apr 2, 2026 +2
so what‘s the congress doing if it‘s a war? is america really so fucked up and they can‘t do anything against that shithead president bringing the world to collapse!?
2
throwaway_ghast Apr 2, 2026 +3
Look at who currently controls Congress for your answer.
3
Scorpinock_2 Apr 2, 2026 +2
What job needs to be finished? He already said Iran’s forces have been obliterated?
2
zanzara1968 Apr 2, 2026 +2
All lies, as usual. He sent another aircraft carrier, more aircrafts and more troops and most of them will take 2 weeks or more to arrive in the Middle East.
2
HistoricalSuspect580 Apr 2, 2026 +2
Thought we already won. Thought we won in the first hour!
2
SilentRhubarb1515 Apr 2, 2026 +2
Mark my words, his friends are shorting everything now and he’ll TACO once they’re done.
