**Revelation 13:17** contains a very specific detail about the economy regarding the anti-christ:
>"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." (This verse highlights a form of economic control linked to allegiance to the beast.)

If you look at verses 16 and 17 together it is reminiscent of the way the Romans marked slaves, soldiers, etc. giving them clear identifiers as to who had ownership or who they owed allegiance to.
Revelation was penned c. 96 CE, two and a half decades after the seige of Jerusalem by the Romans resulted in the taking of so many slaves that they ended up glutting the slave market due to their excess. I'd think a person carrying the mark of another would mean something very real to Christians who escaped beforehand, or grew up with stories about it. I've literally never thought of this before, so it might be waaayyyy off. I haven't really dug into it.

OddEmergency604Mar 27, 2026

Copied from my other comment:
> The mark of the beast is probably a reference to the Shema —the central confession of Jewish faith, somewhat akin to the Lord’s Prayer or the apostles creed for Christians, definitely a central part of Jewish life—(“hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one,” Deuteronomy 6:4) which was commanded to be worn on the head and hands of the people of Israel, so that it would be involved in everything you thought and everything they did— only instead of total allegiance to God, it represents total allegiance to the beast, which is itself full of Old Testament imagery for imperial power. (See ETA note). The mark is not literal (almost nothing in revelation is), but a symbol for total allegiance to the state and the power, safety, and security it represents. The part about economic control has to do with the fact that in Ancient Rome, everyday interactions included sacrifices to the emperor as a deity, including transactions in the marketplace so unless you were willing to treat the emperor as a god, and thereby swear total allegiance and justify his reign and all the atrocities inherent to empire, you were basically a social outcast.
>ETA: the mark is an anti-shema, not the shema itself

Revelation 13:17 states that during the end times, no one can buy or sell unless they have the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of its name. This verse describes a system of total economic control enforced by the second beast (the False Prophet), limiting commerce only to those who show allegiance to the beast

“Bessent said in a statement that the move was appropriate for the U.S. 250th anniversary, given strong U.S. economic growth and financial stability during Trump's second term.”
Wow, Bessent is clueless as the Secretary of the Treasury. I saw a sign advertising $5.00 a gallon of gas today! The price for gas jumped a dollar a gallon in a month! Does that sound like financial stability? The stock market is dropping almost as fast as the “New Year’s Ball in New York on New Year’s Eve.
March 26, 2026: Trump’s act of war against Iran has hit our nation and the world in their investments. If you had a million dollars invested in the market you lost $100,000 this month. Does that sound like financial stability?
S&P 500: Fell 1.7%, marking its worst day since the conflict began.
Nasdaq Composite: Dropped 2.4%, falling into correction territory (>10% down from its high).
Dow Jones Industrial Average: Declined 450 points, or 1.1%.
Energy Prices: Brent crude surged to over $107 a barrel, while U.S. crude (WTI) hit $93-$95 per barrel.
Do you remember Trump promising to improve the price of gas when it was $3.25 a gallon. In California gas prices are up to $8 and $9 a gallon. Thank you Mr. Trump for screwing up the economy! Thank you the Republicans majority in Congress for failing to limit Trump’s violation of our Constitution. Thank you Mt Graham for screwing around with the Supreme Court’s nomination process because Chief Justice Roberts and the right-leaning majority are too afraid to limit his violation of our Constitution.

If we tried to pass a wealth tax and overturn citizens united the billionaire Epstein class would activate a bipartisan coalition of politicians to fight us every step of the way. Same with support for Israel because capital interests are deeply aligned with zionist interests.
The rot is deep and given the game the establishment leaders play its hard to define. Like notice how a lot of bullshit gets passed with JUST enough Democrat support? That's planned. They protect bought assets by hiding them behind safe or disposable or already burned seats.
We don't actually know how many Democrats for instance are in Schumer's pocket on this shit. Because he uses people like Fetterman and Durbin to be lighting rods. But if he ever needed to he absolutely could activate others to shit up votes and block progress.

Well, he can and does feel shame, guilt, and embarrassment. He just doesn't process it like a healthy person. He projects his shame onto others, he pushes his guilt to the back of his mind with justifications, and he distracts himself from embarrassment by trying to embarrass others. Narcissists are deeply insecure individuals who have constructed elaborate defense mechanisms to protect themselves from facing that insecurity head-on.
We can see the cracks in his 'armor', like when he was contemplating the likelihood he's not getting into heaven. This guy knows full well that he has raped a lot of women and children. He knows it's wrong, that's the whole point of doing it. Assertion of privilege. The worst thing that he thinks could happen would be facing consequences for those crimes while he is alive. I'm thinking he won't live to see that happen, and that's a damn shame.
We've seen him waver at times, but it would be one hell of a narcissistic collapse to witness his armor fail and his world crumble around him. A man can dream.

When? Genuinely?
When has a Republican president ever had to answer for their treason? Bush JR got away with stealing the 2000 election and starting an illegal war based on lies. Reagan colluded with an enemy nation and sold weapons to them to fund a drug cartel in South America, and was responsible for the deaths of millions of people during the aids crisis. Nixon did watergate and purposely sabotaged the 1968 Paris peace conference, which sent thousands of Americans to their deaths by prolonging the war.
Where’s the punishment for treason? It doesn’t happen. The right has been doing this shit for decades and continuously gets away with it because as long as other rightists are responsible for holding them accountable, it never happens.
If a democrat did 1/10 of what Donald has done they would have been executed by now. But as you can see, nothing gets done when a republican does it. This is what they want and this is what they do. It’s how it’s worked for decades. There has never been “bipartisanship” or “working for a better America” they just lie and people keep believing them.

No kidding. The worst part is after everything, he's 79 and with his lifestyle even if somehow somebody *did* finally hold him accountable for anything, he'd likely die by the time it finished making its way through the courts.
because that's his whole strategy, delay and drag it out
being evil is one thing, but being evil and getting away with it, while being a smug fuckface is just infuriating

141
AetyZixdMar 27, 2026

It's legal because the coin isn't technically currency and the bill won't feature his portrait. This administration is doing an amazing job of demonstrating just how much our nation relies on precedent instead of laws. We're all fucked.
